  1. Merits, IMO, are one of those things you want desperately at first, and then, as you keep playing that character, you accumulate more than you can use...

    Too strong for general use.

I don't typically play blasters, when when I do, I try to take on groups with the advantage of surprise, (I almost always take some stealth power), and with an overwhelming opening salvo - The nuke is one way to achieve this, and with the right build/set bonuses it can be made available quite often.

I do this quite often when I have characters with full-body auras, the higher intensity in the weapon and/or eye can be justified as power concentration since brighter usually means hotter.

Looking at the screenshot again, at least to me, her eyes match the hottest part of the sword, which seems appropriate.  I tend to similarly match any eye aura to the hottest/brightest part of other glowing effects on the character, because it just seems they should be equally as intense...

    what APP/PPP works well?

I'd suggest Soul Mastery - Gloom is a solid ranged attack, but the real star is Darkest Night, which will debuff an enemy's damage and tohit - 2 things that will give your regen brute time to heal up or avoid attacks altogether...

Again, I ask that instead of trying to shoot down ideas, maybe try contributing in a positive manner.

Use your great knowledge of the game's code to suggest how the idea could work instead of just dismissing it as not currently possible and thus it must be impossible.

Conversely, how about suggesting ideas that actually work within the confines of how the game already operates, instead of trying to shoehorn in some kludgy system to fulfill a highly specific request that only impacts 1 AT...

    It is code

One thing Tron seemed to imply was that something of the original programmer "carries over" or otherwise influences the appearance and behavior of a program, so it could be as simple as the MCP creating a backup of itself, or even possibly "rectified" another program to its own ends...

The "fake video" incident I recall was a Regeneration Scrapper video to show how, but it was made without the purple patch changes or something like that. It wasn't in defense of the global defense nerf, but one of the targeted regeneration nerfs.

This is my recollection as well;  Fighting like +5's or such without the "purple patch", thereby removing the steep drop-off in player tohit and the dramatic increase in enemy damage, or some-such...

I actually like (one of) the CO vehicles. (The rare grav bike that everyone strips of its weapons that are the best vehicle weapons in the game before putting the vehicle on the auction house for sale.) CO did one thing right with their vehicles though, they can't be used on instance maps. Which our travel powers in CoX can. (It also led to the problem of massive instanced outdoor maps not letting players use their vehicles despite technically being outside.)

The ones where you can actually see your character are pretty neat, I'll give you that, but the implementation is still very haphazard, IMO.  The idea of a car for TT isn't a bad one - the player could explain it away in many different ways, but it still makes less sense than a Longbow or Arachnos VTOL craft...

    1) My Natural-Origin hero should be able to take an Uber. It's 2025 and my real-life self has a superpower that my character does not have. Alternatively, my Natural-Origin Villain should be able to steal one.

The date and technology level is kind of vague in-game.  We do not, in fact, have any evidence that there is or should be such a crossover with real-world companies or services.  IMHO, you are more likely to find someone who miniaturized portal technology and offering those services, than regular people providing ride-sharing ones.

The problem is, I've played a game where you can acquire and utilize vehicles - Champions Online - and it is a surprisingly uninteresting and un-fun experience, once you actually get to experience it.  Sure, it may fit a narrow, specific concept or certain RP reasons, but in actual implementation?  Not so much...

    4. What of the digitization tech?

This, I think, is the biggest open-ended question;  Even if we handwave that you can convert matter into energy/code that can function in/on "The Grid", why would that impart super-powers to entities brought over from one realm to the other, (even ignoring whether programs can exist in the real world or not), we saw Flynn have powers within The Grid beyond what other programs can do, but at least there, it was a universe with its own laws...

Your position seems to be that in comic books, it is implicitly understood that there is no such thing as environmentally damaging radiation.  I don't agree with that.

No.  What I'm saying is that you are free to roleplay that your particular character does, in fact, leave behind harmful radiation in their wake.  The default, however, is that the radiation powers utilized by super-powered individuals, (i.e. player characters), do not, (at least not more than the few seconds the debuffing effects last on enemies).  There are areas of the game that do appear to have been ravaged by radiation, toxic waste, or other such contaminants, so those long-term effects certainly exist in-game, but from the powers our characters generally use, not so much...

  12. I am concerned that they'll do the typical cost-cutting thing and have most of the movie take place in the "real world", with the escaped program(s) being able to do things like touch an electronic/computerized device to control it or take it over, a la Terminator 3, instead of it being set mostly on the grid.  I am further concerned that they may try to bring the larger internet into the mix, (which wouldn't fit with how the grid is presented as its own isolated world)...

Bow and arrow ninjas makes perfect sense since that was one of the weapons used by ninjas according to the tradition and shuriken as in throwing stars rather than blades/darts are not lethal weapons, lacking the ability to penetrate things like bone (the skull).

(Edit: Now if you just want to argue Rule of Cool, throwing stars are nicer for the AT than bow and arrow? That's fine. Claiming bow and arrows for ninjas makes no sense though? It makes more sense than Rule of Cool throwing stars, but aren't as theatrically nice.)

Not that I'm against allowing shuriken attacks as an option, but at the same time, the way the Ninja primary is setup implies to me that your character is not, themselves, a ninja, so I can also see why a longer ranged support weapon, like a bow, would be chosen.  Maybe MMs could stand to gain some themed APPs, (like a "Ninja" one with some shuriken and katana attacks, any maybe some kind of defense toggle that also grants stealth, (think Shinobi from Blasters' Ninja Training)...

I love my MM's but for some of my ideas I would really love for them to have the weapons that one of the other MM types has.

Here's the problem - no other power set has the kind of interchangeability you are asking for.  It's not that I am against the idea, but it doesn't have any precedent and it unlikely to be something that is easily implemented.  I think a better approach would be to add a series of MM-primary-inspired APPs with those attacks/powers, (though those might be better suited to other ATs)...

What you're ignoring is the popular understanding that radiation can have lasting effects that are not visible.

At this point I do not believe you are arguing in good faith.  This is a comic book setting, where real science doesn't apply.  Radiation in CoH does NOT work like it does in real life, full stop.

Earth assault has exactly one ranged single target attack, just like Claws does right now.

Earth Assault has stone spears and fissure, so I guess Claws could work with just the 2 ranged attacks it has as well; focus and shockwave.

Claws Follow Up unchanged + a good old fashioned Power Up (not Power Build Up, so only +special without +dmg) would be a really nice option too.

Nice?  Sure.  Likely to happen?  No.

I truly appreciate the possible options. I still prefer the regen option with water.

NP.  I would stress that you focus on boosting your absorb from Instant Regeneration and possibly try to fit in some defense, whether via pool powers like weave, maneuvers, and combat jumping, plus from Invention Origin sets, if and when possible.  I'd also look into binding reconstruction and possibly second wind to easily accessibly keys, so you can use them in those "Oh sh!t!" moments...

I am new to the game

Welcome aboard!  To be honest, I don't think you'll enjoy regeneration as an armor set in the late game or in end game/incarnate content.  If you are looking for a solid armor set with lots of endurance/recovery to keep all your powers "fueled", may I suggest Radiation Armor or perhaps Ninjitsu, (though the latter does require a bit more attention and responsiveness to fully utilize)...
