  1. https://www.snopes.com/news/2021/07/07/mattress-firm-money-laundering/ Perfect for this city.
  2. Let's take our previous example with Crushing Impact (at level 50 for ease of use). Crushing Impact: Acc/Dam - 26.5% to both Dam/End - 26.5% to both Dam/Rech - 26.5% to both Acc/Dam/Rech - 21.2% to all three Acc/Dam/End - 21.2% to all three Dam/End/Rech - 21.2% to all three So with all 6 slotted you will have: 68.9% Accuracy 169.6% Damage 68.9% End Reduction 68.9% Recharge With standard SO slotting of 1 Acc, 3 Dam, 1 Rech, and 1 End Redux. We said earlier that SOs give a max of 38.3% to their respective enhancement. 38.3% Acc 114.9% Damage 38.3% Recharge 38.3% End Redux See the difference? The power with IOs is significantly improved numbers wise overall. Plus, you get the added benefit of set bonuses for your every power and your entire character. Now, you won't see these exact numbers when you slot. Due to ED (Enhancement Diversification) there are diminishing returns are you increase your totals. Even with those diminishing returns, you will still see a significant increase in your powers with using set IOs. None of this really matters much though. Using IOs vs. SOs is purely a decision you make on your own. I have characters that have never slotted a single IO because I didn't feel like it. I also have characters full kitted out that can do things I never thought possible back in the old days. For a new player, there is a lot to learn, but you have received a lot of really helpful information. Realistically, just playing with SOs won't hinder your experience at all. You may not be able to do some of the things some of the other players around you can do, but in a team you won't notice much of a difference at all.
  3. Because that one piece from Crushing Impact adds to both in just one IO. You need two SOs to get similar figures. Standard slotting for attacks for SOs is 1 Acc, 3 Dam, 1 Rech, and 1 End Redux. You can get all of that (almost identical numbers) with 5 IO set pieces along with the bonuses they give. Slot 5 attacks with Crushing Impact and they are all giving stacking bonuses which will definitely make an impact.
  4. Yeah, having all of the existing GMs popping up as a supernatural force is pulling them in from all over the city to cause mayhem. That would be very neat.
  5. It's kind of like truckers that buy truck simulator and farmers that buy farm simulator. You do it every day because you're passionate about it.
  6. I'll give a bit of a different advice from Meknomancer here on the Mind side. I don't build my Dominators for defense or resistance. I use the epic shield for a little extra safety, but it isn't a priority. Mind has a ton of control options for groups. Wide range Fear, targeted AoE sleep, targeted AoE Hold, and targeted AoE confuse means that any group I come up to I can usually lock down without too much difficulty. When Domination is up, you should never have to worry about your defense or resist. The mobs won't be attacking you anyway. Unless, they resist whatever you're throwing at them. Key one here is the ITF. Those Cimerorans resist everything. Annoyingly so. That's what your teammates are there for though. I tend to slot my ST hold and ST sleep for damage though (ST Hold gets procs). Even when the mob resists, they can hit really hard.
  7. Illusion also just doesn't have great area control. You'll piss off a lot of baddies, but won't be able to control them as well as other Dominators. So you may just be making a few too many enemies mad at you than you can handle.
  8. The remake starring Chris Pratt and Jenn Ortega comes out Summer 2026!
  9. @Ukase in real life.
  10. You're a genius. I absolutely love this idea.
  11. It's something specifically for the hero, Carlet Hocker. You wouldn't know them.
  12. As someone who has run the Praetorian content many times, I have never had something like that happen. Have I died? Yeah, of course. I don't play conservatively. I typically bite off more than I can choose, but that's because I think it's fun. I would suggest trying that again. You shouldn't be fighting any +3s unless you have your settings turned up a bit too much for you to handle. At level 4 if you keep your settings at +0/X1 you should be fine.
  13. None of that sounds good and I hope it isn't what it sounds like. If so, I'm sorry to hear that Yomo.
  14. And that's the main reason I love my Dominators. They're just fun. They won't be as powerful as some other AT combinations, but they are never boring and always entertaining.
  15. @R jobbus, listen to @Frosticus. They know their Dominators and what they can accomplish. If you want to solo AVs with Illusion, you may want to consider a Controller. Ill/Rad and Ill/Cold seem to be the consistent AV killers in controller land.
  16. I don't think it's about "saving room." The cost doesn't justify if you are high volume crafting, converting, and selling. Rare recipes cost too much to craft and purchase the salvage for, so the return is too low.
  17. XP only, not influence or infamy.
  18. I don't think I've ever posted in here before, but I played on Guardian for years before migrating to Freedom for a bit to enjoy the PvP population. Most people would know me as @Kid Kadet, @Kid, or @Tubby. I had a couple different names. I was active in Guardian PvP and regularly hosted costume contests and had a bad habit of handing out large sums of influence and complaining that I was broke.
  19. Thanks to both of you! I am going to let this one die out as it seems they may want to just be left alone. It's disappointing, but I'm not one to bother someone if they prefer their anonymity.
  20. Thank for the replies. If a mod wants to delete, please feel free.
  21. The fringe jacket did look good on you. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.
  22. It's comfort for me. I first played this game back in 2005 - 2010 when I had my first child. She is in college now and it's fun to go back to the beginning and play something I have so many fond memories of.
  23. His missions have always been interesting to run, but I don't do it often. I play games to escape reality. The ramblings of a mad man bent on world domination, or a psychotic cyborg doctor chopping up people and putting them together is fun. Phipps is a real world villain. Someone who enjoys inflicting pain and misery on others simply for the joy of doing so. There's enough of that on the news and in our own lives, so I actively avoid that in my gaming.
  24. I mean, badge hunters do that now with certain badges anyway. It's not like it would hurt anyone. Not saying we should or shouldn't, but that's a bad metric to decide if a new badge should be added in my opinion.
  25. Take a look at this if you have any questions about farming.
