I have a question regarding -tohit. Is it the same as defense? If you have 40% def to ranged and you fire something for 5% -tohit would you in essence have 45% def?

I did not realize that you no longer crashed from the using of nukes. That is definitely a game-changer. Usually I always saved my nuke for the boss at the end or as I came across bosses. This is definitely helpful advice thank you. I'm not a min/max person. I just like to go about at my pace increasing the difficulty when I feel the need or know I can handle it. That's why I chose ice. The ability to be able to freeze bosses always helped.

On live I remember having my ice blaster with hasten just about Perma because of sets and the global recharge of luck of the gamblers. However I'm wondering if I'm able to just get to the 70% global recharge via sets and luck of the gamblers if I even need to have hasten in the build. Do I gain any benefit from it at all. I know it'll eventually overall help getting my nuke, blizzard, up quicker but how often do I actually use that in Solo play. By the way my ice Blaster is more or less for soloing. I plan on going scrapper or tank for team play as I mostly played blasters on live. I want to change it up this time around and even try that controller I've always wanted.

Hello since I now have some inf to think about slotting sets for my character I was never quite sure if the Luck of the gambler 7.5 IO is counted in the "rule of 5". If I have 4 sets that give 7.5 recharge and also have 2 Luck 7.5 IOs is one a waste?

As a longtime P99 player I can confirm what you just said. Not only is it going strong but it's getting stronger as the population keeps growing.

One last question before I jump into the game. Well 2 actually. I remember there being a newspaper where you can get missions from. Does that exist in game? I also remember doing a series of missions complete with a major boss that once you were done you got an award that allowed you to buy IOs like Luck of the gambler Global recharges. Is that still available as well. That is how I primarily IOed out my characters with the really expensive/rare ones.

I didn't see the P2W the first time thru the tutorial but when I ran it again I made sure to check it out. This will be silly but The xp bonus timer only counts for actual in game time? That DFB was one that I saw alot and was like what is that LOL. So its a very low lvl TF type mission? That sounds like a fun way to meet new people right out of the gate. Does this mean we can't play together? I made her a seperate game account but due to work I haven't been on as much as I want to be so I haven't been able to check that out yet. I actually played right until the end but maybe because it was ending I just didn't pay attention to what they added at the end. Kinda nice actually because it is like a bonus to me.

First let me say wow it is great to be back in Paragon City. I went home last night like a giddy little kid and installed this on my PC and laptop. Before I even had a chance to create a character my daughter asked what was I playing. I told her this is the fabled City of Hero game I had always mentioned to her. Needless to say the next hour she would spend creating characters on the character screen never actually getting to login though cuz she was just taking that long and her bedtime came first. So after I put her to bed I sat down and created my first character in seven years or so. An ice/ice blaster. I got to tell you it was great running around Atlas Park doing missions and street sweeping damn I missed that. In addition I felt sort of overwhelmed when did they add all these secondaries and primaries. I don't remember any of that. A lot of acronyms were thrown out in the chat and I had no clue what they were talking about. However I'll do some Forum reading to get familiar with it all again. Got to get back out there and kick some villain butt. Just wanted to post my appreciation for this server.

Holy crap I can't believe someone finally made an emulated COH server. Been waiting years for this. Can't wait to get home and install this and start playing again. After COH ended I tried to fill the void with Champions online and the DC Universe online. Even tried Marvel heroes but nothing satisfied me the way COH did. I am so excited that I finally got a game back that I know my daughter will enjoy playing as well. Assuming all goes well with the installation tonight I will begin to once again visit Paragon City regularly. By the way how does one donate to this project as I see it's donation driven. Need to make sure I do my part to keep it alive as long as possible. Funny thing I first left EverQuest to play COH now I'm leaving P99 emulated EQ server to play COH on an emulated server again. Seems like history does repeat itself. Tecmos if you should happen to read this thank you so much for your P99 videos because if it wasn't for them I would not have known about this server. I gave up searching for emulators for City of Heroes because I never got good results.
