Villain: The Origin of Power (Ashley McKnight). 5 missions (1 door): talk to NPC; talk to NPC; talk to NPC; talk to NPC; 10 glowies, 1 boss. This mission is in the 20-24 list on the server, but awards level 1-14 badges. This is not true. Just did that one and got the lvl 20-24 badges. And the missions listed by BrandX I can't even find in the list. Does anyone have a working missions list?

Can't end Archmage Tarixus "Offer the soul of Akarist"
Raikao replied to gameboy1234's topic in Bug Reports
Did this through the normal contact just this week, no issues. I'm almost sure I got the badge during the mission. You click the altar and then kill the demons that come at you, even the one guy who's at the bottom of the cave and can't get to you. That was annoying but all I can remember about it. Maybe you have to go to him and talk to him after though. Have you tried again? Did it work? -
Building a new character with SO's and other tips
Raikao replied to Diantane's topic in General Discussion
Ok as a mostly MM main, him saying Bots/Traps isn't good based on playing a Traps defender because levelling a /bots MM takes too long? When beta server exists and even then. I did not know his sheer power level. Thanks for the context. -
Building a new character with SO's and other tips
Raikao replied to Diantane's topic in General Discussion
Where to even start with this. Well for one thing, others might be low health because they're not Sentinels, Scrappers or Brutes. The fact you over-slot defensive powers and toggles on defensive archetypes, might explain why you're lasting so much longer. It also means you do almost no damage, if your early slots all go into defenses. Some issues with your approach are: - 3 resist/defense SOs, which hits diminishing returns already and makes no sense. 2 would be enough and even that does not make sense for every power. Slotting 2 Defense SOs in a power that gives 2% defense isn't going to make you invincible somehow. - slotting 2 endurance SOs in toggles is also wasted, when you have no endurance reductions in attacks you spam constantly. It depends on archetype and the power. But if you take a new attack, the first thing you should slot is some Damage or Endurance Reduction or Accuracy (I think you get a buff at early levels to accuracy though, but once you start missing attacks you really should put in 1 accuracy SO and maybe a Kismet:6%Accuracy in a defensive power. What I'm saying here is that you need to add 1-2 slots to it to make it work well. If you dumpster all your slots into Combat-Jumping or another defensive toggle instead (3 resists and 2 endurance reductions means 5 slots total), then your damage will suffer. Do we need min-maxed builds for this old-ass almost dead MMO? No, but this is still just wrong advice to give new players. This isn't in the Guides section so maybe you where just giving a personal anecdote, which is fine. As I said I don't think we need to gatekeep a rather casual super hero/villain power fantasy game. But at least give "decent advice" to new players. Do they have to make money through the auction house and put in set-IOs everywhere at level 15? Nah, but at least the few decent SOs they put it should not be wasted to hit diminishing returns on defensive gains and reducing the endurance costs of a 0.15 endurance per second toggle, at the expense of doing more meaningful things with those precious slots. So how do I know all this: I play this game. I often level solo. I don't struggle when I do. I don't need TF groups to carry me because my own damage is so bad it takes 5 minutes to kill a Boss Skull. One thing I will point out in a positive way: Your advice on engaging long range on ranged archetypes is correct, by the time the mob reaches you he'll be almost dead and most mobs are more scary in melee. -
Would I be better off transferring to a US server?
Raikao replied to Mnemonic's topic in Reunion (EU)
To add to this: I was doing TFs on Reunion 440+ days ago. I see people call out for TFs now as well. I personally would highly recommend for EU players to play on Reunion, better ping and we can run even more things regularly :) -
I was going to post "mine" but it's missing 2 skills when loading in and I'm pretty sure it's almost the same as the one linked by Octogoat. So I'd just recommend using that one and maybe adding Placate somewhere, since that got buffed and is now AoE, 5 targets and imho really useful. If I get around to fixing it I'll post it here as well. But building Stalkers is pretty straight forward.
-
I always found it useful when solo and usually took it. Those buffs are crazy good. Being able to stop runners and make 5 targets just stand around while you kill their friends is amazing.
-
So doing damage is enough to keep aggro on myself, since with Bodyguard I'm way sturdier than a single minion. I'll keep that in mind for my reworks of some of my builds to make them exemplar down better. Makes me want to take Whitecap earlier on /marine as well. I did struggle with mobs going after minions more than me when all I had is Corruption and Lash. Less so on /Time but that's probably because of the constant AoE -ToHit Aura drawing aggro pretty well. On lower levels that is.
-
If that ever happens you can also store some of it by sending Emails to @Raikao I just came back to the game and sadly, past me did not leave me with untold riches. So I blame my old self while not taking responsibility for it.
-
It's twice as funny when SHODAN says it.
-
So there is something I have not considered yet. You talk about loosing aggro (and probably that the "can't" stand up to the extra single target damage - I assume a typo there). And thinking about it, those are the times I get in trouble, but how do you actually keep the AV/Elite Bruiser Boss from just one-shotting a drone? Because that does happen to me.
-
I like Group Fly, but it has it's issue. Imho just pick whichever. Also there are other ways to socket some things. like Pulse Rifle Blast. But as is I enjoy playing it.
-
Thanks I will have a look at yours. I already blatantly stole his build to tinker around with :P And yes in hindsight, especially on a Robots MM using two rifle attacks, I could have taken something else than Longbow, but then again it is a big mech so it fits the theme. I think Banished Pantheon Core is the best one? With Radial being BiS for fire farmers since it can't die?

some questions about /marine with a few different pet types
Raikao replied to R jobbus's topic in Mastermind
CoH was ahead of it's time. To this day the way emotes and keybinds work is just amazing. Sorry but in what other MMO can I make rotating keybinds where every press of the button loads in a different .txt file so I say different things as an emote when using my skills? Oh and I can put down a jukebox while my minions dance with one macro. I can go into teleport mode, where the graphics settings get changed, the HUD disappears and then switch back to normal mode pressing one button, once it's all setup. Most MMOs especially back when CoH came out didn't even have basic mob A.I. They just aggroed and ran at you. -
Maybe /time as well? Distortion Field has a hold proc, Time Stop with hold proc enhancement could get you there, add a patreon power on top. Should be enough. But other than that yeah I can only think of /dark.

Didn't even think of the "delete that target" MaxHP debuff. Only problem I think will be no -regen. At least I couldn't find any on the Demon's skills in the database. If that's the case, I'll just run Longbow Lore-pet again I guess. Maybe I overvalue -regen but against AVs and GMs I kind of want it I feel like. My goal is again to make something that works really well solo first (so of course I'm doing with SuperSpeed to stealth missions if possible). So far it seems like Soothing Wave might be a 1 slot wonder. The dmg debuff is 9% regardless and the healing is only once, no HoT like Temporal Mending which makes slotting it with full Preventive Medicine or something else seem...pointless. On the build template I'm playing with Haste is 140sec cooldown still which I don't like and I have to figure out the accuracy requirements. It's been so long I don't even know how much I need on myself or the minions. Mids shows something like 236% (75%) or 258% (75%) and I don't know what that means. Gaussian Chance for BuildUp in Shifting Tides placed on the T3 pet seems juicy though.

Sorry for the no reply. Didn't play the game for 400+ days but I am back. I will have to double check but I don't think I changed anything from that version of the build. The build is not cheap that is for sure. I will compare hopefully later today and let you know if anything changed. Edit: Nothing changed since then. If I revisit the build and change anything I'll probably make a thread. I have been meaning to anyway. So people have something quick to find and just use (I know I at one point looked for that).

Very well put together. I can only concur. Traps is good, surprisingly even. One of those sets where on paper it doesn't look impressive but then you place all your stuff down and the mobs just vomit themselves to death while nothing hurts you. It's weird but effective. But /Time on bots is so cracked it's not even real. On mine I even take maintenance drone as well, sometimes you have huge incoming damage, use Temporal Mending and your Assault Bot keeps getting hammers, but the little heal drone tides you over. I took the Longbow Lore-pet for the -regen and I really don't think that build has any weaknesses. I even managed to get Group Fly in there. It's the strongest MM I've played, but I am currently leveling Demons/Marine and I have at least a suspicion that Marine might do to Demons what Time does to Bots. I have a basic build from someone else and yet to put my own spin on it though.

Oh I read "/macro F...." as keybind somehow. But you're right it's just the name. Anyway I went through this list on my new char yesterday and I stand by my initial response. The macros should have a short text explaining what they're for. And the order of things to buy should be parallel to the order on the vendor, which is just a minor adjustment. All in all I felt like I was speeding through the early levels. Had to disable XP though to get some early badges done (some missions and Mayhem mission stuff)

Hey, I'm not sensing an ongoing desire to "bitch at the reviewers" from the author either and he is taking feedback. I ain't forcing anyone, but let's give everyone the benefit of the doubt. I mean EVEN @cranebump got that and he's a total piece of shi..ning example of this community. And with that I'm out of here. :>

Well I can only judge what I played. First Mission: Shivans cause chaos in Galaxy City. Seems pretty clear. The clues texts are good. Good ambushes. Do I know why there are some random NPCs in the mission? No but one is an author cameo and Blue Spectre is probably some NPC already in the game? I forgot how to play my character and went in +1/x1 and it was fine. Second Mission: No going underground, got it. For suuure this time. First clicky found, I didn't understand the second objective. "Resupply" doesn't tell me much. It was another clicky and it tooke <2 minutes but still, might want to change the objective "Resupply with Daniel's weapons" maybe? Third Mission: Okay I'm starting to get it. The problems I mean. So here are my 2 cents on it: Complaining about "not knowing why I'm here" is indeed a sign of lack of reading and nothing else. It is very clear why and parts that seem slighlty confusing at first (like who Blue Spectre and Forager are supposed to be in the story) get context later. That being said: I would restructure the adventure in so far as that once done with mission 1, there should be some text from Daniels about Forager and Blue Spectre. Stuff like "oh yeah you're not the only person I work with, but those two knuckleheads are soley responsible for rule #2 and #3....which I will explain another time we have to get to my supplies" and then mission 2 happens etc. Loose the timer on the last mission. Looking for NPCs in cramped office maps is one thing, but if I had put the difficulty up to something more challenging (which makes fights last longer) I would have never completed the mission. I don't think the timer is necessary in terms of narrative or design. It's good as it is. I understand why you went off a little, because the first things mentioned where not fair at all (like not knowing the premise etc). Other things where fair to point out though. I think some more context between mission 1->2 and 2->3 would help a long way. 3/5 stars as I played it. 4/5 stars easily with slight tweaks. And I agree with crane that putting mission 3 first, as in you pick up a frantic radio signal and it's some guy named Daniels looking for help. You rescue civilians during Shivan attack, Daniels as well, who says "we are saving the Skulls too" then afterwards you go to police station to gear up and get your bearing, Daniels talks about his two buddies, wondering where they are. You get mission 3, stop Shivans from steamrolling the city OR find clues about the Shivans and then oh look his two buddies are here helping. We save the whole gang. Just food for thought. But it is fine as it is right now, with some small tweaks.

I know how macros work I wanted to know what those specific macros do. Listing a bunch of macros that change keybinds would be also very confusing for newer players so just adding a short explanation what they do is what I was hoping for.
-
Fairly useful. Could you explain the macros and what they're for? I also think disabling Group Teleport or Fly is kind of very personal preference. Although I do like that it is in this guide, because instead of complaining about it, people should just disable it themselves if it bothers them. Just makes sense in terms of etiquette.

We are only but a few, so imho, even when disagreeing vehemently with each other (which I am good at too) we should strife for peace. Now if what you say is true, I can certainly understand feeling slighted. So I will offer a solution: Today when I get home I will first login on my main and play through your mission. Call it an impartial third opinion. I wont even speculate on why crane seems to have such a vastly different impression from how you see you own work. I will just let it speak for itself and report back in....12-ish hours.
