I noticed that pressing Esc doesn't bring anything up. How do I exit game without resorting to the task menu?

    thanks ahead for your time.

You can make a macro to quit and that will put a button in your tray

    /macro quit "quit$$local I am quitting"

    - or just -

    /macro quit "quit"

You could also go into Menu>options>keymapping and keybind the ESC-key to quit game.

By default the ESC-key isn't keybound to anything.

    Invisibility PhaseShift.png Phase Shift

You can Phase Shift to become out of sync with normal space. Although you do not become completely Invisible, you are translucent and hard to see. You are intangible, and cannot affect or be affected by those in normal space. Although this power is a toggle, you cannot remain Phase Shifted for more than 30 seconds, even if you still have Endurance. Cannot be used with Rest. You must be at least level 14 and have two other Concealment Powers before selecting Phase Shift.

    Recharge 180 seconds
    Minimum Level 14 (All Archetypes)
    Effects Toggle: Self Intangible
    Enhancements  Reduce Endurance Cost
       Increase Attack Rate
    Set Categories None

I only had this power on one character before the Sunset. I'm sure I'm going to have at least one character with it.

I don't know how you can be a true Ninja without it. Get invisible or stealth head toward some big bad you have to pass by to stealth a mission and punch the phase shift and find some good place to hide on the other side. If you can't do that in 30 seconds, you're no ninja ...

/chan_motd "Channel name here" "This is a sample MoTD message"

Once the quotes were around both the channel name and the message it immediately worked.

Someone needs to edit the command on https://hcwiki.cityofheroes.dev/wiki/List_of_Slash_Commands

    I'm believe it should read

    /chan_motd "channelname" "channelmessage"

I tried logging in but I can't seem to get in, and I'm too tired right now to make new log-in over there or fight with it any longer

So, City of Heroes doesn't have a mechanic, per se, to Hide from individual enemies.

Oh, but at least it did.

Placate did hide you from from an individual enemy before the change. I was able to get full assassin strikes on enemies by using pacify on them before using an assassin strike.

I alt jump a lot, but I have several stalkers. I would quite frequently get to the middle of a fight, assassin strike a boss, fight with them until my assassin strike recharged, placate them, and then assassin strike them to finish them off.

But it was/is for a hide short period of time until it wears off. It simply did not grant you hidden status. It was simply a hide until the power's duration wore off.

    Katana Placate.png   Placate

Allows you to trick a foe to no longer attack you. A Successful Placate will also Hide you. This Hide is very brief, and offers no Defense bonus, but it will allow you to deliver a Critical Hit or an Assassin's Blade. However, if you attack a Placated Foe, he will be able to attack you back.

Now it is AoE. It was single target.

    Manipulation Placate.png Pacify

Through persuasion or subtle intimidation, you attempt to placate a single target for a short time. If successful, the affected target will no longer attack you. This persists until the effect expires or you attack the target. Unlike other placation effects, this power will not hide you or give any concealment bonuses.

"unlike other placation effects" seems to be quite clear.

  5. Okay. So here are some things to consider.

Are you on the character that created the channel?

Does that character that you are currently logged into have operator privileges for that channel? (I'm not sure if operator status is assigned at global or character level - it appears to be at the global level, but I would try sending the command by the character that created the channel.)

Are you currently in that channel in the chat entry window when you try to use the command?

I understand that it should work from any character with operator status, but sometimes the game response weird.

I think that you have to be an operator for the channel and enter the command in the chat window that currently set to the channel that  you are trying to send the comand to.

I think the command would read::

/chan_motd "This Sunday at 10pm EST an all ranged relentless Aeon SF run will take place. All types of ranged characters are welcome. More than one run may take place, depending on interest."

Keep in mind, as discovered in the video, Placate is now an AoE Placate. Not sure of the range, but that helps keep nearby targets off you.

I guess it should be pointed out as well that it it will "hide you" and not that you become "hidden".

I am not 100% certain, but I think it does put you in the "hidden" state as that is a "self" status. However... nearby targets who are not placated might still engage with you and cause that hidden state to disappear.

Correct. That is the way that I understood it.

  8. 2 hours ago, Bopper said:

Cross-posting, as it pertains to this bug report. It appears Placate's effect that sets you to hidden (Meter attribute) is being affected by Purple Patch. So keep an eye on this when testing. If you ever use Placate against an enemy that is higher level than you, you will not go into Hidden state.

As I  understood it, it just puts you in "hidden" state to the target of the stalker's placate and not into a "hidden" state to other nearby targets.

A vet level 999 player and a vet level 1 player will deal the same damage if they're playing the same build and have the same rotation. Vet levels have nothing to do with dps output.

Level 1-50 your dps changes by level, the gear you have, and what powers you select.

After 50, your leveling is somewhat related to your access to incarnate powers, the gear you have, and what powers you select.

That is why I want to know what good dps is. So I can know the underpowered sets from the good power sets.

    This isn't like other games.

Just have fun, you don't have to mini-max. If you want to mini-max, use MIDs

I know. Thats why I want to test things. Try stuff out. I wanted to know what the bar was set at.

If you want to bypass experiencing the game yourself, use MIDs.

Who else agrees that Munitions Mastery needs buffed?

I never found it to be all that bad, but I never crunched the numbers.

The thing about LRM rockets is the range. It comes with lots of range from the get go.

The big letdown for me about it is finding out ::

  11. Just ran into this disappointment with a teammate.

    Utterly, ruined their night.

It is what It is and I understand that.

Perhaps a power customization could take care of it?

Use the executioner's shot animation and have the rocket come out of the pistol?

What level? How many veteran levels do you have? 50. What does vet levels have to do with anything?

Your dps changes every level as you level up.

Doesnt matter since the dummy/pylon has the same res to all damage types

Different blaster types do different amounts of damage.

Are great examples of why I am asking that question. I want to test things and try different combos out. If I do not know what quantifies as good dps in this game I could neuter myself and not even know it.

    They all affect DPS.

I don't use MIDs but I believe that it list DPS.

Have you ever used the power?

Yes. Before the Sunset and here on Homecoming.

    On multiple characters.

The mobs are confused for A GENEROUS millisecond.

They seemed to be confused far more than a millisecond, but maybe I'm a speedster and time seems to go by much slower to me.

If you don't think the confuse duration is long enough put a confuse enhancement or two in it.

I have never had a problem with it.

Seems to work fine to me.

    you  will not receive experience

"You will not receive experience" for any enemies that confused enemies defeat.

You receive experience for any enemies that your team arrests even if they are confused.

Confuse is a good way to whittle down enemy's health to make them easier to arrest.

Get to 50 and slot a contagious confuse in it and "let the mayhem begin!"

do the same thing where the mission is displayed and hit Architect Options and it will as if you want o quit the taskforce.

Depending on your window sizing, you might not see this option immediately if you hit the "architect options" button as the option is at the bottom of the window that opens. You may need to scroll down in order to see it.

Hey all new to CoH. I looked everywhere and couldn't find a thread or anything recent on what is a good dps threshold in CoH. The game where I come from (SWTOR) good dps is anything over 21k. What is the equivalent for a solo blaster in CoH? 400? 500? 600? (This assumes no inspirations/lore pets/a friend debuffing/buffing)

What level? How many veteran levels do you have?

How any incarnates powers do you have slotted?

How many pets are you using?

What power sets do you have?

What enhancements do you have slotted?

    Level 50+ is the end-game.

The actual game is level 1-50.
