It is when you consider that I have over fifty toons and I’m sure many people have many more than that.

Yep. I do. I'm not complaining about it.

I'm moving my characters around and getting prepared for it.

It isn't going to be unlocked account wide.

Like other powers in the game, you have to earn it one way or another per character.

You still seem not to be responding to my actual point.

I'm not talking about getting to PD or getting to Bases. I'm not asking for it to be easier to get to those places.

I'm talking about unlocking the LRTP. That's all.

    Okay, then.

I said this before, but I didn't ask  you why, so...

We don't get to unlock any other power just because we unlock it on another character.

Why should we be able to unlock this one without doing the work to get it?

Getting the PD added to your LRTP is easy, yes.

But unlocking the LRTP takes getting all the Atlas explorer badges on every character. Not unbelievably onerous, but irritating.

That is what I am talking about.

Honestly, it isn't really needed other than to be able to slot the consolidated power window thing (quick menu, too tired to remember or go check) to clear  your tray off all the teleport option clutter.

There are tons of ways to get to a base with the new system, and it isn't that hard to add the Pocket D as a teleport option in a base or use someone else's base that has it equipped.

  4. Well, there you have it, heroes.

The villains pretty admit to their nefariousness.

You are heroes and not blue, and 70% of the servers' populations.

Of course, they might mess with teams forming, but they can do that regardless.

If they want to hide behind "red", well ... isn't that what they do anyway?

Don't call yourself blue. You are a hero. Be proud. Admit you are a hero.

If I may, for the sake of discussion, just offer a calm friendly rebuttal to this one particular point:

BOW DOWN BEFORE MY VILLAINOUS MIGHT!

And, so we see the true villainous intent yet again.

Is there any more reason for the heroes to stand for this and be blue/sad simply due to the threat and demands of villains?

Threats and demands are what villains do.

I don't bring you threats or demands.

You are heroes. There is no reason to be blue. Rise up and be the heroes that you are.

Don't support their conspiracy. You are heroes not blue.

Just to clarify, the Pocket D VIP Gold Club Member badge does exist on Homecoming. It was repurposed from the badge you mentioned to the badge that is granted for spending 1 hour in Pocket D. Earning this badge grants the Pocket D VIP Pass teleportation power (and as far as I know it also makes that power free in the P2W vendor).

So, as you are verifying, the Pocket D VIP Gold Club Member badge is what was the Pocket D VIP pass and not what the Pocket D VIP Gold Club Member badge was on-live before the Sunset.

Last year you would see people recruiting for DFB teams every couple of minutes non-stop. On both sides. So you'd have a hero side DFB fishing and a villain would send a tell and then they'd do the "I can't invite you" dance. So to clarify things they'd just say "LF3M DFB (blue)" and be done with it. If it is that big of a hardship, you can edit chat tabs to remove channels that offend you.

Works better simply to put those on ignore that offend you.

I'm not going to jail a whole town just because of a couple of bank-robbing, leg-breaking villains are committing crimes in it.

  8. Less than 30% of the population is villains.

There is no need for the heroes to identify that they are running a hero team when recruiting when 70% of the players are playing heroes.

And, yes, one expect villainy from villains so of course they are complaining. So rough got get arrested for doing crimes. I know, villains, you don't deserve to pay the time for your crimes.

As for the Praetorians, I'm glad all those that play Praetorians have posted on this thread. Why you don't want to be "gold" for your selfless act of being Praetorians can not be understood for by non-Praetorians.

    Heroes!

You know what I say is true. No need to say blue. If you have to type four letters make them be "hero" instead of "blue". You don't even have to type "side"

/macro LFT "lfg Level $level $archetype hero looking for team."

No need to bow down to the 30% that want to be villians. Because, after all, they are villains.

I dont think it is asking to much. The pocket d teleporter was originally a code that gave you the portal account wide. Dont see why its replacement cant be.

I think you are confusing the Pocket D VIP pass with the Pocket D VIP Gold Club Member Badge.

The Pocket D VIP Gold Club Member Badge was a perk for buying the Good versus Evil edition.

This has never been on Homecoming.

The Pocket D VIP pass (which is the icon that is used for the Pocket D teleporter here on Homecoming) which was always based on spending 1 hour in the Pocket D <-- this was never account wide.

You could purchase it from the P2W vendor.

Now it falls under the Long Range Teleport power (unlocking one exploration accolade unlocks this - just ran around in Atlas for the Atlas Tour Guide Accolade and it took about 5 minutes).

To gain the Pocket D teleport under the Long Range Teleporter, you only have to have one exploration badge in the Pocket D.

This is simply not hard to do. (I am not complaining and I'm working through my 70+ characters to unlock it on all of them in preparation for the change on live)

I also forgot to point out that they are not taking away the base teleport that can take you from your base directly to the Pocket D.

Check out my post :: UltraAlt's Guide to preparing for the removal of the base teleport macro

  10. I will start out by saying that I have never liked the use of the terms Blue and Red in regards to which "side" a character is on or looking for a group. (no need to go into you Praetorians as you are all but non-existent, but enjoy playing the game the way you like).

I feel the use of Blue and Red undermines what the game is about. Heroes fighting against the forces of evil and villainy. This is why City of Heroes was created.

I'm not trying to knock those that want to play villains. The game aspect is there. Enjoy it if you like it, but you are a villain and not "red".

So where did this red/blue thing come from?

It's pretty simple. Red is 3 letters. Villain is 7 letters. People are lazy. (Especially villains?)

Hero is 4 letters, and so is blue. No advantage to a hero to call themselves blue unless they are sad.

With less than 30% of the population being villains, there is no reason for heroes to bother adding "blue" when asking for teams.

It can be assumed that you are looking for a hero team. (and certainly not a Praetorian team. Sorry Praetorians.)

Villains can keep saying "red" because they are too lazy to type "villain" or to avoid admitting that they are playing villains.

If you are "red", you are a villian.

City of HEROES. Not City of BLUES.

I don’t understand what fly powers have to do with it. I’m talking about having to do all of the unlocks on all our different characters.

This is the wrong forum to be discussing, granting powers to other characters simply because one of your other characters has unlocked that power.

    So I apologize for responding.

I am very happy with the way travel works now on Beta, but I need to spend a little time thinking about what it will be like on live with no Freebies menu. It could be nice if there was some Account Wide badge that unlocked SOME aspect of fast travel... I guess making PD VIP account wide is asking a little much. I'm not sure what to suggest.

Like earning 1mil influence for each characters so they can get a P2W fly power?

You can email yourself influence and spread some around to all your characters.

  13. Currently, rotating in-base entry portal does not change the direction that you enter your base.

I know I could figure out which way (alll) base portals are ejecting character, and build my bases around which direction my characters are exiting the base portal, but I would like to simply be able to rotate the base portal to change which direction the characters exit from it.

I don't know how much a hassle this will be. I don't know if it has ever even been looked at.

For me, it always ends up being to be to cause characters to exit to the left when entering a base due to the way that I set up my bases. I always thought I was going directly into a base when creating it, pulling the in-base portal to the side of the map nearest me, but, apparently, I need to move the portal to the right of the screen so I will be focusing going into my base, but I think rotating the base portal (any in base portal for that matter) to change the direction of the exit from the portal would be more aesthetically pleasing.

Live had a name policy, all I'm asking for is one on HC - be it the one I last remember hearing about or some modified one.

Hyper, I'm asking for no one to be put on a pedestal just because of what they do as a line of work/living. Military people are no more special than a doctor, a lawyer, a teacher, or what have you. Exemptions should either exist for all jobs/ways of life or none at all. There's also a very big issue with trying to put one group on a pedestal; It's very very easy to fake being part of the military. Having HC verify that just so one can be exempt from any name policy is dumber than dumb.

    EDIT:
It should also be noted that unless you have a bunch of level 1-10 toons, the last proposed policy was PRETTY generous as you got higher in level.
Under HC's last proposed policy, Level 50s were exempt (which I think is a mistake, but eh)

As far as I know there is one.

If you are under level 10 and you haven't logged in for 20 days or something, the name is up for grabs.

  15. Time to get creative.

I have names that I had on live that I can't get on the servers that I want to game on.

I don't complain about it. I just make another name.

If people are squatting names, that sucks.

Use it; if you've got it.

I used to have the same character name on all the live servers for one character name and on a bunch of them for another.

I played all the characters, just some more than others - but that goes for all my alts.

I believe the /enterbasefrompasscode command can still be used as long as you near a base portal. If you can create you own base portal via Rapid Response Portal (assuming that's what it does), I wonder if you can still use /enterbasefrompasscode near it.

It appears to work from near the Rapid Response Portal.

I don't have a base passcode for another base that is not my own on test. But it works for my own base's base macro.

When I try to use the base macro away from a portal that gives base access, I get this error :: "This command can only be used inside a Supergroup Base or near a Supergroup Portal."

It appears that if you go into your own sg base, you can use the base macro to travel to someone else's supergroup base.

Using the base macro for my own base when in my own base, respawns me to my own base.

In case someone needs it for testing on Beta, my base macro is ::

    /macro base "enterbasefrompasscode KEEPITSIMPLE-124"

I would also like to point out again, any method that takes you to a supergroup base allows you to enter a passcode, so you don't have to have the macro but only the passcode to get in. Of course, you have to manually enter it. But you could say, make a macro to talk the passcode into a chat channel, copy it, and then paste it into the passcode once you activate the teleporter. Example being the Monitor Duty day job (supergroup transporter) which does not spawn a portal, but takes you directly to a base.

I don't think Goku's powers have a magical component. He Is an alien who has trained a lot. That's all. Or i miss something?

Maybe about the part where he died and trained in the Land of the Dead before being resurrected by the Dragon Balls.

I would say that there is a pretty magical component to both.

Maybe it would be best just to stop all alien versus alien violence.
