For your first VEAT, I suggest the following:

    • leveling through normal content
    • have just enough attacks so that missions are not a slog
    • try to pick all the different non-attacks
    • run with and without toggles

IMO, this is the most straightforward way to see first-hand how Endurance costs affects your build and you will get a sense for what all the different powers affect playstyle. If you are really having Endurance issues, it is entirely possible that you are using Hasten "too soon" in your leveling. There certainly can be reasons to want Hasten on a VEAT (Mind Link is probably #1, AoE %damage attacks are probably #2)  but you don't really need it... and until you have lots of set bonuses as well as excellent -Endurance in attacks (and other powers) it is simply an Endurance tax trap. I agree that Widows/Fortunata can see Endurance issues without Hasten, but Hasten (plus button mashing) and Sprint are usually the top culprits for draining the blue bar.

Respecs are plentiful: I don't think you will end up keeping all the powers you experiment with, but seeing how each works will give you a deeper appreciation for what your build(s) could do.

    This, this, this. 100% This.

Freespec for all toons every 10 levels to 50, plus the forcespec for VEATS, and multiple builds... Try everything, see what YOU like, and then winnow the chaff from there.

Good advice for any AT, not just VEAT's.

The nice thing is Ice Patch also doesn't need any slots. So even post-early game you don't feel like you've overinvested in it. One recharge and it's happy all game long.

"Run around a corner and drop an Ice Patch" has saved me quite a few times when the rest of the team has wiped. Now you're falling over AND lined up all nice like for Frost & Frozen Aura.

I'm running an EndRed... global has it recharging in under 15 seconds, but that 10 End hit... oof.

Ever just randomly grab from someone's build list and see Hasten triple slotted for recharge and Aim holding a single piece from Adjusted Targeting for To Hit/Recharge and think to yourself, "No thanks."

Hasten gets 2x50+5 commons. BU/Aim/etc get Gaussians %, and then a 50 End/Rech if I have the extra slots. Think I've got something in my Beam/EnA, so that Aim and Nuke are on about the same timer.

As in need of a revamp that regen is, ice melee is probably the best it pairs with.  Ice patch will give you control you need to survive.

Early levels, yes. Now, it's for when I get swarmed... Frozen Aura and auto-hit sleep is an AMAZING pause button. And with Regen's kit, Ice's controls, and AS's fear... wow.

ATE end, but as I'm building it out, is very smooth (90% complete). Currently running through NW again through Ouros (Praetorian only lvl 50 goal), and at +2x2 I beat "Defend the Midnight Mansion" with only 1 death to the triple EB spawn... And was comfortable enough during the rest of the phases that I swept and cleared the map for exp.

What do you think would fit the scope here baring in mind you're in a well made team with the buffs and debuffs all primed for you to focus purely on damage. Feel free to share builds too, I'd love to see some ideas!

    Me.

All of my toons are build to kill stuff. Surviving doesn't earn exp.

I found the problem.  You might have more success by leaving the difficulty alone until after you have your powers slotted out.

    This...

Why ratchet up your difficulty before you can handle it? The AT's are designed for +0x1, anything above that is SUPPOSED to be challenging.

    • Thumbs Up 1
  8. My Beam/EnA went Nin for concept (Gundam) - and I literally only use SotW for shits and giggles, or posing. All my Beam attacks are better DPA.

Would not object to balance/buffs/usability to Sentinel EPP's... Suspect it'll happen when HC does the Sentinel tweaking.

  9. TW/Nin - Still a unique combo in the game...

Kinda wondering if I'm doing it right or wrong, so tossing up to y'all.

First, best place for +Crit Proc? Crushing is the shortest opener out of Momentum, but I also think maybe it should be in an AoE...

Second, I'm a little over soft-cap, but sacrificed perma-Hasten and +HP in general. I'm not looking to make a Linea build, just one capable of doing at least +1x8.

Third, trying a different PPP than the default of Body/Soul - I've got a buncha Scrappers, time to diversify!

Fourth, currently 35 and in a previous, but close, version of this (Crit Proc and in Titan, slots otherwise match up). Therefore, I am leveling into it...

  10. I've also been debating this combo for years. Started it as a Tank on Legacy about a month before the announcement, been thinking of it as a Brute on Homecoming... But, also now debating it as a Scrapper...

Thoughts from any who've played any of the three?

Right I forgot thats what they drop, either way id look for something that does more than body. Im away from my pc else id throw out some suggestions but honestly anything or no epic can easily be better. Physical Perfection is just really underwhelming.

Forgot, the other hitch is I'm trying to get her to 50 as a Praetorian native. No Soul PPP as a result... And as she is a concept, wanna keep with the Japanese ghost mythos, so Weapons and Fire APP are no good.

*resists urge to rant and rave about how bad sent regen is*

    As Troo pointed out @Errants

The body mastery is less than ideal, the usual go to for regen is Shadow Meld as it's easy to chain with MoG and moonbeam is a solid snipe.

Using the slots for nearly anything else will be an up, you should not have end problems with Quick Recovery, in fact I skip even that on most builds, and the regen given by physical perfection is matched by an enhancement or two

Stalkers don't get QR. And I'm open to other things, just trying to play new APP's (Soul is default on most any Stalk/Scrap - Meld is that good).

  13. Common IO recipes - Vendor
Uncommon/Rare IO recipes that don't require Rare salvage - Craft, list if recent is over 1million, otherwise convert in category to Rare enhance, list if >1million, convert again as Rare if not

Uncommon/Rare IO recipes that DO require Rare salvage - Craft if I have the Rare and follow above rules, otherwise compare recipe AH list vs vendor - sell to best one (usually vendor)

Common/Uncommon Salvage - sell all on AH at lowball lists

    Enhancements - Sell

Using 2xEXP (no influence gain), SO slotting (especially with the new system to refresh all at once), and those market rules - I've managed to keep two alts self-funded from level 1 up to 40ish so far (distracted with other games), both having a full set of ATO's (Spider and Stalker). Run arcs, turn merits into converters, bid low on buying converters, and have patience, the spice money will flow.

Oh, the wackiness of the flavor text on powers and archetypes.   THe game also states Blasters are Ranged.  Do you know how hard it is to make a Blaster fully Ranged and NOT gimp it?  Ranged?  Not since I crawled out of the coffin...

AR/Nrg - Cone Spam with Boost Range. Used the T1 secondary with KB enhancement as a "GTFO power" for anyone who got close.
