You just repeated the same nonsense you've done the whole time, while again offering nothing of value in ways of solutions. Your solution to people who dislike KB is literally "Deal with it". That's not a solution, compromise, or even a productive conversation. "the team has to pick up your slack" "It's not roleplay, i just pretend im useful" "You're trying to steal my fun away!!!" Whaterver dude. I told the GM's i'd be less coc breaky so, i think you're correct. We're done here.
-
So do this instead of a damage proc, or utility proc, and be worse than other blast sets because of a shitty bad mechanic This is roleplay, i won't acknowledge it any further. Be useless just don't play a set you like because it sucks and rudra doesn't want any real fixes Like a null the gull option? Like a global KB>KD? 😉
-
So no solutions? got it.
-
Because you aren't giving solution's to agree with. So far you've said Knockback is fun It doesn't matter in soloplay People get bullied for having it People would get bullied if they could not have it You should pay for them to not have it You should reach out and explain to the player how to do something (Which always ends without being cursed at, surely) Homecoming would have to develop Knockback has niche uses Which one of these solutions should i be agreeing with exactly? They're all terrible non-answers to a small scale issue limited to like, 2 power sets?
-
and again, homecoming isn't going to do the null option so this is debate is just us circlesmerkin anyway.
-
So instead of an easy null option to remove the issue, we should fund another players character, hand hold them into hopefully learning it, and just deal with it? Yeah that's a waaay better solution to clicking two buttons. also, heaven fucking forbid developers have to develop. I'm so goddamn tired of that excuse being used for everything. You're literally just admitting there's a problem with knockback while arguing against solutions to knockback in a misguided reply about how people are trying to ruin others fun. You make aboslutely no sense. and again, acknowledging a problem while giving nothing of an answer on how to fix it other than personal time, effort, and influence to ANOTHER player. Rudra, as humorous as arguing with a language model is, either have a counter solution to OP's suggestion or accept nobody is trying to ruin your solo experience and move on.
-
This. It's barely even a real problem, which is why the bullying excuse is such horseshit.
-
None of this logic makes any sense. You're basically saying we /shouldn't/ address an issue because a fake person who isn't real might bully another fake person who isn't real over a problem shouldn't even exist if the person isn't misusing something. You're literally fear-mongering about bullying to prevent an actual problem from having a solution that both helps people keep the thing they like and gives people the ability to not have to deal with KB if they don't want to spend the time learning how to do it "properly". Not a single thing you've said has had any merit whatsoever and then you try to reverse excuse card me when I haven't given you excuses, I've given you real examples and solutions that literally PREVENT knockback from being removed. All you've done is make up outrage and not even read the thread where most of this had been gone over already.
-
If they're good at it, then they wouldn't get bullied to change to KD at null, thus no problem is created. Because when they misuse KB, it's done before judgments and nukes go off and cause them to not be effective and wasted. Any other excuses?
-
I didn't mean an answer to why it's good, because the answer is it isn't good. The answer to the KB problem was the point of this thread without disrupting people who do want to use it. As for your fear-mongering scenario of pretend bullying, that should already be an issue then and so nothing would change.
-
An answer was given, a null the gull option to turn it from KB > KD. It's not about only being damage, It's about not disrupting the damage. Nobody was even asking for KB to be completely removed. They were asking for an option to not sacrifice build slots to not disrupt their team experience.
-
That's because "im having fun" Isn't an answer.
-
don't get me wrong here, I understand why its fun. I understand it's extremely limited niche uses of knocking something into a wall to prevent the actual problem with KB. However, these are limited examples of a niche helpful use, not a counter to the wide-spread misuse and anti-meta of the gameplay loop of herd > aoe down > move on. "Helping herd" is done better and faster by taunt or fold space with a lot less room for error that would make it worse. While you've spent the time needed to align yourself to knockback a section of enemies who may not be right ontop of the tank, another toon has used a judgement or a nuke and everything that would likely be out of range is dead. Also, i ignore it not mattering in soloing because many things don't matter in solo play, but rarely do they also disrupt team play. As for the superhero fantasy, that didn't save rage from getting "fixed" to be less fun, or any other nerf that came. It's not a good enough reason now, even if our decision makers said so.
-
none of you have done anything to explain why knockback is good, all you've done is say you sometimes can use it in a way that eliminates what KB does and not disrupt the team. Just because you like something, doesn't mean it isn't bad. just encase you forgot to actually mention why KB shouldn't be addressed. edit: actually, the only person who explained why it won't be is the first reply to the original post.
-
There is nothing i can reply to this comment with that wouldn't get me in trouble (not with you or about you) so im just gonna say, i feel that.
-
remove kb add more damage 🤔 you have a good idea here, i think we should go with this one
-
I too often fear the developers might have to develop edit: I feel like i have to include im not saying they don't, im saying what he described is just development in an mmo
-
While it's fun to randomly assume specific scenarios are what people are referring to, most KB offenders I've dealt with are in double and triple digit veteran levels. Very rarely in low level TF's do i see a level 15 misusing KB so frequently that anyone has to say anything. This is in part because they're low level and unslotted usually. The frequency in which they actually disrupt a low level TF is very low. It's people who have been around and should know by now not to knock enemies out of patches/auras who are doing it most. This includes low level TF's, it's usually the 50s who are the problem
-
people considered Hitting 1 button and then hitting one of two other buttons to be "complex" when EM got changed. So rolling the dice on if people use KB correctly is really a terrible RNG minigame I suppose so, but at least we're all wasting our time together. 😭

Locking out certain door locations on the Synapse TF
Super Atom replied to ShardWarrior's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
ok, you delay the timer to give the team and others to arrive. 2 minutes, spawns in one spot, marks it for the TF? that cover the concerns? -
No. I said it was pointless, not that I'm above talking about it. I don't believe anything will ever be done about KB and Homecoming has never given me a reason to think otherwise. I will still gladly tell you how the unwashed masses ruin things though.
-
You can't debate KB vs KD with anyone who likes KB because they inherently view it as a positive control effect. While people who don't view it was a negative control effect. No matter how you try to explain away how good you are or how good you think you handle KB, It's never going to change anyone's mind and I'm sorry but "I'm so good i don't cause disruptions in team" isn't good enough. I don't care how good frank and bill are at the game, I care about the 100+ other knockback users who are not. If your entire argument is centered on "It's not me, it's everyone else causing the issue so there must not be one!" you have lost the debate before it ever began. What you meant to type is "KB is awful in widespread practice, but sometimes very rarely a player can use it correctly". That said, Knock back arguments are like talking about rage. Pointless.

i have a compromise. We delete sentinels. This removes one source of knockback and it gets rid of all those sentinels.

Rebirth Has a Nice Thing - Maybe We Ought To Have It Too
Super Atom replied to TWSLives's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
A color Palette? no. Stealing all of their ideas for any new power sets or otherwise? probably, but even then they couldn't really do anything about it. The biggest MMO in the world is a just 3 dittos in a over coat. DragonFlight was a well received expansion for WoW and it's primary feature is just lifted right out of Guild Wars 2. now if Homecoming was to literally steal their code work or model works, probably. but they wouldn't do that. It's also probably why they avoid wanting to copy any features, to avoid accusations of code theft. -
Rebirth Has a Nice Thing - Maybe We Ought To Have It Too

People keep being confused at you because you're dying on a weird hill. Quite obviously those details are meant to be worn with a single item. That's literally the whole point. You put down outside-developers by accusing them of making "janky" things. People were trying to explain to you, jank is just the nature of modding a 20 year old game, if you'd like to say Homecoming tries not to make it too janky, that'd be different. I showed you an example of a "janky" way to implement a costume item. There is absolutely nothing wrong with what Homecoming did for this costume part that looks real cool. Hence their reply below Hope that helps.
