Question about Nemesis wedding run
BigKahuna337 replied to Display Name's topic in General Discussion
What's the difference between "Red", "Blue" and "NEM" wedding teams? Is there any guide on how to complete for badges/gifts? Thanks. -
I have to throw my Bio/Rad tanker hat into the ring on this thread. DDR being the only weakness (easily overcome with Ageless Radial) this is probably the best solo tanker build I have used. Sitting around 300% regen BEFORE hitting any of the Regen/Recovery enhancing PBAOE's (over 550% after) this build can be built virtually unkillable. Not to mention -Def and -Dmg debuffs that are really difference makers when surrounded by +4/8 mobs. Uber solo"able" in any content.
-
For those with SD experience. Looking to build the type of toon that can Solo ITF +4/8, hold their own in Fire Farms +4/8 (not as main farmer but a hitter), and excel at all around end game content. Any build helps are appreciated.

I put this under "suggestions" cause I wasn't sure where else to put it. There's one idiot player who's always kneeling in the same spot in Oro. I want to suggest he get a life and go play the game and stop kneeling there. If anyone else sees him or her, I suggest you tell him to get the hell up and get out of there.

Rad/Rad is hard to beat. Downside is no DDR, upside is max 75% Res to S/L/E/N/F/C. If influence is no object can get Fire def to +45 and S/L/E around 35%. Basically has 2 heals (one an absorb shield, but same/same.
-
Sorry, best I could do below. I didn't have time to build out on Mids and replicate everything. But as you can see, no temp powers on boosting Res/Def numbers. I do use Offensive Amplifier just to add a little spice but that's it.
-
My Rad/Rad Scrapper is a beast. 75 on all resists ~50 Def on Fire (for farming, this can be spread elsewhere). ~35 Def S/L/E. Again, if I wanted to raise my S/L def to ~40 that's easy at the expense of bringing fire down around 40 and E to around 30. But with the great heal and absorb I don't bother, unless I'm planning on Soloing S/L farms there's no point, I'd rather keep it fire which I can solo nicely. The offense/debuff from IR ground in Rad armor is super and once you build up Muscular to T4 you get def debuff from nearly all Rad powers. Just and overall stong build for all aspects of the game.

Farming vs whatever for fast inf building
BigKahuna337 replied to BigKahuna337's topic in General Discussion
If I could get Winter Sets for less I'd love to know how! If the option is just bid lower and wait for someone to sell at the lower price, ugh.. -
Way late in responding to this post but I'll do so anyways. For Farming, I prefer Spines/FA but I know a lot of ppl like Rad/FA, I have both and wouldn't knock either. For general game play I gotta say /Rad is the way to go. I have Rad/Rad and WM/Rad and the latter is my personal fav. /Rad is just so hard to kill with the massive heal and absorb, each on short recharge times plus the ToHit and Def debuff. I know, I know no DDR but Ageless Radial and purps. Everything has some little hole that needs to be patched and I feel that /Rad has the best overall tradeoff and smallest hole to patch. Just my 2¢

Farming vs whatever for fast inf building
BigKahuna337 replied to BigKahuna337's topic in General Discussion
@Ukasethe main cost I find are winter sets and ATO's. And I don't believe you can craft those from recipes, but I may be wrong? I typically see a single purple Winter enhancement go for ~22M, even the orange ones are about the same price but then you need a catalyst to turn them purple and that's another mil. I don't typically use Ragnarok and those types or purps that you can craft cause my set bonus is Max is typically met between the 4-5 winter sets plus 1-2 ATO sets. Is there a cheaper way to get those? I know you can earn merits and exchange but that's a lot of merits when 1 Winter enhancement costs 100 merits. And I typically earn ~500M PL'ing my toons from 1-50 and then through Vet level 9 or so, so I can work my Alpha Destiny and Lore to at least T3. So when I have that level of influence I just purchased the Winter sets, or most of them. -
Farming vs whatever for fast inf building
BigKahuna337 replied to BigKahuna337's topic in General Discussion
@tidge my main toons that I build typically have 4 or 5 purple sets. Each individual enhancement is ~20M so for the set 120M. So then 4 or 5 of those sets 480-600M. Then I still have to slot everything else and yeah I use boosters anywhere I can. Easily costs 1B+. -
Hey guys, just a quick one. What's better than farming for inf building? With the drops and selling recipes and salvage and the inf per kill, maybe for lack of trying idk but I haven't found a faster way to build massive inf than farming. And when I say massive influence I'm talking 1B+ for building my heroes. I don't even bother alt'ing until I have a 1B+ inf to invest. That's just barely enough for 5 or so purp sets. Maybe it's overkill but it's the way I build my heroes. What do you guys say? Thanks.

And would you take SR on a Brute over Rad for all around game content and if so, why? Not trying to pee in anyone's Cheerios just looking for in game experiences on these armors. Thanks.
-
I've found SR to be fine one on one and probably PVP, which I never got into but vs +4x8 the lack of Res drops a SR brute like a level 1 Blaster. I'm sure it has niche uses but what do you use it for? Give some example please. DDR I know it's great.
-
So would you place Stone -Granite over Rad for a Brute?
-
Looking for opinions on best all around armor specifically for a Brute. For the sake of argument I'm throwing out Fire. I get it, if you want a farmer, FA is best. I'm throwing out Regen and SR are useless armors imo. I've built dozens of Brutes and haven't found any as all around effective as Rad. The only downside is lack of DDR but I slot Ageless Radial when needed and can make due with it plus a purp here and there. Please tell me where I'm wrong or share your opinions on the below. Invul: I'll give the slight edge on sturdiness but the long recharge on Dull Pain pisses me off in farms. The Unstoppable crash blows especially compared to Rads Meltdown. But if you're and Invul person, I get it. Shield: Fun armor but the lack of heal and low resists, from my experience it has more holes than Rad. Stone: The movement penalties on Granite..I just can't abide by it. Elec: Great armor. ~90 Res S/L/F/E with 30+ Def on the same but Rad can build to that too and Rad Heal and Absorb smash anything Elec can do. WP: I'm not a WP expert, built only once or twice but totally sucks on a farm. Personally it feels kinda weak, but what do you think? Dark: Seems pretty decent, great heal great on Psi but weaker than Rad and Elec imo. NRG: Fun armor, great on Def weak on Res. For big groups of mobs though, doesn't hold up like the Res based armors imo. Bio: Fun armor but too clicky for me. Please tell me your opinions. The Brute I'm basing this off of is a WM/Rad I built that just seems better to me than the dozen others I've built.

Great job Linea we've run a few times before (Meta Girl Elec/Elec Brute) Do you have a standard time when you run? I'd like to go again. Thanks.
-
I've been with this game a long time since '03 or '04. And it seems like whenever players find a niche like farming Blasters in this case, the nerfs come out in full force. I just have never understood the thought process.
-
To the first point, seeing the numbers tick off is besides the point. The power used to heal me and does not anymore. This sucks for a Farming Blaster. To the second point, the recovery buff is nice I guess but useless once you get T4 Ageless which I use on all my farming toons.
-
Well I mean call it what you want, but I know ever 3 seconds or so I would tick off 100 or so HP, now it doesn't. Besides a small recovery buff, this was the main reason I used this power. So IDK how they could be viewed as essentially the same but I do appreciate the feedback.
-
I build alot of Blasters, I'm noticing 3 in particular that seems to have changed since the recent update. My Fire/Temp, Elec/Martial, and Ice/Plant each have a secondary toggle power that USED TO heal the toon for approx 100HP every 3 seconds or so. Temporal Protection, Reaction Time and Frigid Protection, very useful for a Farming Blaster. Now I notice none of these do that. Was this a change? If so why, why, why..why not just leave the game alone? If not, I guess I picked a bad week to quit sniffing glue, I must have been imagining it..
-
Appreciate the quick response, yeah I mixed up Dynamo and Sound Barrier. I guess what's confusing is the fact it can be slotted with Healing enhancements and the description calls s similar to other "barrier" powers but this one provides no healing or regen.
-
I'm the new /Sonic power for Blasters I feel like something isn't right. In the power Dynamo, the description calls this an absorption barrier but it doesn't seem like it does anything. On other Blaster secondaries (Temporal, Ice, Martial, Rad..to name a few) that have barrier or regeneration powers, I have either seen a regen increase in my combat attributes or it provides a barrier by ticking off HP every 3 secs or so which will grant a small barrier over the casters 100% total HP. It appears the power Dynamo in Sonic secondary for Blaster does neither of these so what's really confusing is how similar the description is to some of the similar powers in the secondary sets listed above. Is this a game glitch, or does this secondary just suck and this power was designed to do nothing??

Just looking for any feedback on this build. I like shield defense so far except for the click defense aspect. As far as Savage Merle I'm not sold yet but I feel I need a second opinion. Anyone out there have any experience? Thanks.
