  1. I absolutely love my plant/savage but the reason I keep going away from him is there are WAY too many good powers. I know, I know....first world problems

    I actually made this one back then - it turned out well. Its not the synergy I would have liked but it sure is fun to play
  4. Plant/Savage is crazy fun Maybe not the best at any one things but it can handle itself from range, in melee and has AoE confuse

  7. Does anyone have the Defender version updated in MIDS? It doesn't seem to be working for me as some powers are gone/out of date/ etc. Thanks @Sir Myshkin for putting so much work and detail in explanations for all of us to enjoy and converse about!!
  8. Does anyone have any Dark/NRG builds they could share for comparison? I am going to take a stab at building one myself in MIDS but dont have much of an idea on where to start. I know what powers I want but am not married to any specifics except Sniper Blast / Power Burst / Total Focus / Whirling Hands. I figure its a good mix of melee and range and Darks pets and -ToHit can allow me to stay in melee more and then for AoE the dark cones along with WH. I was thinking Soul for the shield and I have Soul Drain on my Plant/Savage Dom and love it but would be open to any suggestions
  9. Water / Atomic Loads of fun to play, lots of AoE and build to survive too! I have made many since I took this character seriously and I always come back to him Working right now on a second build for him to blap a bit (I know its not an ideal powerset) so if anyone would like to help, it would be appreciated but for now, I am happy nuking the crap out of things
  10. Thanks again!! I will give this a try, I have enough IO I could remove and sell to get enough to at least get a good idea of this build. Maybe ill give it another go and see if I like the playstyle and if not, ill work on my other alts.
  11. @KelvinKoleThanks so much for all the information here!! I appreciate you putting in the time for sure!! That said, is this the best way to play Dark/Mental? I am not sure and some of the powers I didn't think were necessary and would consider dropping if it meant teleport and/or stealth would be more important. I dont know that I could get softcapped that way though. Yes I agree this was a push for something very defensive in just running in and trying to survive while laying out the damage rather than the battle plan with the knockdown > drain psyche > nukes > cones. My other blaster I love is a water/atomic and it does amazing dps while being survivable and I would have to think you are right, if you can drop enough quick enough, the remaining alive mobs dont pounce so hard so the defense and resist I have would most likely keep me up Also, is this going to be the most expensive build if I were to play this way or something in the middle? I guess I am just asking if it can be improved upon with more inf.
  12. Sure thing!! I do not have all the enhancements that I was shooting for in this original build (not mine I dont think, been away for a while). I remember making a post and found it this morning. I really liked the idea, IIRC, of stealth in to PBAoE range, dropping nukes / PBAoE, and then retreating back to cone range to finish off the mobs. I don't know if thats the correct playstyle for Dark/Mental so I would be open to any other playstyle advice. I am finding WoC not worth it at all so the tone of the build could change. My preferred attack chain would have been stealth > drain psyche > blackstar > psychic shockwave > and then umbral / tentacles / ST Maybe it would be better to do Umbral > Tentacles > combat TP > drain psyche > blackstar > psychic shockwave > ST
  13. Thanks for the builds!! Yeah, I don't really feel like leveling another dark blast right now (maybe later). I was really hoping my Dark/Mental would work but it seems underwhelming. Dont know why. May just go for that Elec/elec/elec I have always wanted lol
  14. Hey Snarky Did you ever settle on a build for this? I have been struggling with Dark/Mental and coming up with something that works. I don't know how to build it and have failed a few times now with lots of inf wasted. Please let me know if you have something you could share because I would love the idea of blasting with cones and then heading in with PBAOE Also, I realized WoC is trash waaaaaaaaay too late 😞

I was hoping to see if there are any new builds as the ones I have found are from the past (not necessarily outdated by any means) I am sure I will play with the builds to suit myself but as a returning player, a starting point is always appreciated
  16. I would like to re-visit this conversation. I have a Mind/NRG that I am building and really liking but am planning on going Primal (for more dmg and theme). My problem is I don't think Mind offers as much as Dark does and am thinking of rolling this character. Is it possible to build a Dark/NRG/??? to be good in solo, group, and have AV/GM potential? I don't always have much time to play so while I do want to have more AoE for group play, I also need to be able to play solo at times
  17. thats a good point. i just hope the confusion toggle and the invis can get me into the group. based on my numbers i think i may have to drop some slots and add leadership instead of leaping to get to the def soft caps especially for S/L
  18. After only finding a few builds and nothing that really suited me, I figured I would try to make my first build myself. Playstyle I am looking for would be to stealth in, hit Drain Psyche and then drop PBAoE in with Blackstar/Psychic Shockwave/World of Confusion (not sure which order would be best) and then drop out to cone/hold and single targets to clean up. I know it may not be as effective as a Fire/Mental or Ice/Fire etc but I kinda like to play something a little different. My main questions are around the slotting as I dont know if this is going to be enough resistance to take on groups by myself. I am not really looking to farm or anything with this build and really am looking for more of an all around build that works well up close and from afar. I just want to be dangerous at both and not necessarily perfect at one or the other. The other thought would be to go for both cones I left out and drop dark blast and abyssal gaze and just be an AOE machine but that could be another build for another day. Any thoughts, tips, or general advice would be much appreciated!!!!!   20. @reib - Yeah, I did use a variation of this while leveling and had to make some changes as I couldn't bankroll some of the enhancements but overall I think it was a blast to play. I saw one of the above posts with the last 3 in atomic and I figured it may be fun to look and see if a similar build could be made as a blapper Also, good to know that you can farm with it
  21. I would like to re-visit this build. It seems like water/atomic could be played from a short amount of distance (say right behind the target) or in the middle of the target pack. I have also seen it used as a farmer and was hoping to get any other peoples builds or ideas on this. I have had a lot of fun leveling and playing this toon and just looking to keep a conversation going about it as it seems like a very versatile set
  22. @Darkirwell, its too late haha, i used your defender version and got him to like 40. i dont have any enhancements so i cannot do damage but it still seems fun. i dont have the heart to re-do someone that hit 40 as i get limited playtime. surely the builds at end game cannot be that different though, right?
  23. I am thinking now that Defender should be better with defenses as this build is an up close and not a ranged playstyle
  24. What makes the Corruptor a better option for this? I love the idea of Time/Rad def or Rad/Time corr, just wondering which one would be better
