Would it be possible to remove/reverse ED?
leese replied to Atlas_Carter's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I completely support a warning the first time you try to slot a enhancement that will be affected by ED. ED is not obvious and it's never really explained by the game. -
Would it be possible to remove/reverse ED?
leese replied to Atlas_Carter's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Honestly, it's more that ED needed to happen in order for more interesting options, like IOs and Incarnates, to be feasible. The devs' mistake wasn't adding ED, it was not having something like it to start with. -
This'd be good and I'd love to see the option available, it really hurts nobody. That said, I wouldn't get all your hopes up for non-binary options. Several of the contacts have completely different text depending on whether the character is male or female, so there would need to be a definite base male/female option even if you could otherwise customise your pronouns. I'm guessing coding an additional check to see if the gender is over-ridden wouldn't be too hard. Having full customisation of pronouns would need some UI work, so it's probably not trivial.

RE: Ninja Run and Beast Run, yes, I get why they can't be used with CJ and SJ from a mechanical perspective. But a lot of people take them just for the animations, and it's kind of a bummer to have to eventually drop the NR/BR animations to get the benefits of CJ, SJ, SS etc. So it would be nice to have their animations as choices for other, incompatible powers. The powers no longer cost anything in real money/purchases so there's nothing to be lost offering the animations for free if it is possible.

As the title says... All Flight powers Add options for default flight animation, hover animation, fly poses 1-4, magic carpet and others I might forget? Teleport Mystic Flight has a teleport animation that's different from the default. There's also Spring Attack's! Combat Jumping and Super Jump These powers cannot be used at the same time as Ninja Run and Beast Run, so you lose the animation when you activate SJ. Adding an option to CJ and SJ so they at least have the same animations would be nice. Sprint Actually, let's do that for sprint too. And finally... Rest Yes, I am deadly serious. There are a ton of emotes that could be used for this power! Does your hero rest by turning on a boombox? Does your villain chill with a little juggling? Maybe your scrapper does a kata to relax. How about a nice cup of tea to recover your fatigue? Loads of possibilities for fun and personalisation. Yeah, I know, none of this is high priority. but I'd like to see it. Add your own!

Revert Peacebringer Solar Flare to a foot stomp animation
leese replied to Vanden's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Maybe putting them as choices in power customisation would be better. -
Suggestion: reinstate a level unlock for epic ATs
leese replied to leese's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
OK, how about this: On the playstyle select screen (Tank, Support, Pets etc) add a new category called Advanced whose description warns that they're for experienced players. Remove HEATs and VEATs from all other categories and put them in there. -
Seconded. Actually, I'm pretty sure that was eventually fixed on live, and Combat Flight was given the Hover animation. I was quite disappointed to get my PB to 10 and see the wrong animation there. So this would be a nice fix to get.

New P2W vender item ( Toggle Shape shifting )
leese replied to m153ry's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Toggling on a shapeshifter as a movement power might be possible. Being able to fight in that form would probably take a really substantial amount of work. -
[Proposal] UNGIMPING basic Peacebringer design game mechanics
leese replied to Redlynne's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'll sign this. Seems reasonable. -
I've got loads of original characters I'm attached to. but I'd also really like to run around in a group composed entirely of Persona knockoff characters.

Suggestion: reinstate a level unlock for epic ATs
leese replied to leese's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Giving Khelds the option to do the tutorial is definitely a good suggestion. While we're at it, opening up redside and praetoria to them would be good too. I also really like the idea of disabling Quants. How about a Null the Gull or Notoriety menu option to disable Quantum spawns while solo? But really, I suggested a level lock because it's probably the simplest option - and getting any other character to level 2 is not a very difficult unlock condition. My concern is just keeping brand new players from making one as their very first character, because a lot of first impressions are being formed then and a PB/WS is currently a very bad one in several ways. -
Don't get me wrong, I love my Peacebringer and would probably love the others if I had the time to play them. But we have a lot of new players about now, and I really hope none of them are getting the wrong idea about the game by rolling a PB first, being forced to skip the tutorial, going into one of Sunstorm's missions and getting rolled by a half-dozen quantum gunners. (I counted) It wouldn't need to be level 50, it could be 20 or 10 or 5 or even 2. Just enough to make sure that they're not on the AT select screen when a player is making their first character.

I don’t know about the bugs, but if you have your old mission arc files you can put them in the Missions folder in your COH folder, start making a new arc and hit Load
-
I never played this while it was live, so here I am giving it a shot. What I've found is an arc that definitely deserved to be a Dev's Choice. Played on my level 29 MA/SR scrapper. I feel like doing a horror arc in CoH is quite hard, because the game is so much about empowerment and being strong. So an arc that wants to be horrific is going to have to do that without making the player feel threatened or vulnerable, and this arc does that rather well with a few neat tricks. It also manages it without being excessive or gratuitous in its content - I can say that the item that most spooked me and gave me pause was an entirely mundane object in the wrong place. I think I would say that the first three missions - while definitely good - didn't exactly blow me away, but it did take off from the fourth and felt very effective. I'd also like to pick out the souvenir for special praise, I enjoyed the writing there. Thumbs up, I liked it! This board doesn't seem to have a spoiler tag! So I'm going to make the text small and blue, and you can copy it into notepad if you want to read it or something Stream of consciousness: Contact: Interesting to have your contact be panicked radio communications. You're going for horror, which means the writing is going to have to do most of the work since CoH isn't really equipped for horror, but this writing is up to it. Mission 1: Good opening. Maybe would have gone with a creepier looking office map. Small zombies are weird, but fun. I like Event Horizon's design a lot - it's a bit cliche, but I don't associate Warshades with that cliche at all, so that's Interesting. I walked past the security computer three times without noticing it, but that's hardly your fault. Mission 2: Now this is a creepier map! Schism: well, that's certainly a costume. Good one though, well executed. Feels like this mission could have used more surprises. It's somewhat rote. Interesting twist that Haley ran off with the wrong mother. No sign of small zombies. Mission 3: Ah, the good old graveyard map. Found Haley very quickly, grisly. Didn't think you'd kill the kid, at least not this quickly. So the BP are digging for something. And Schism is quite proactive about zombie killing. Still no small zombies. Irine not sounding good. Mission 4: This is looking more like it! Strong first impression with the entrance text and objectives. Not your fault but this map looks weird with the cel shading on. Great Clown confusing, Great Herald ominous, both nicely designed. Though I don't feel like this is my fault at all. Just the mere presence of a phone down here probably the most unsettling and interesting thing, since it's so out of place. Good bio for it, wish I'd remembered to check more bios. And yes, this is clearly Mot. Mission 5: Now Event Horizon is losing it. "You've crossed Event Horizon" - nice. He does prompt an interesting question, why AM I beating up what appear to be civilians? OK I think I see what's going on, and Event Horizon's final line is rather good and clinches it - "We try to save people... but all we know how to do is hurt people." Reads like a meta-commentary on how violence is really the only real verb we have in these games. Or maybe this isn't the moral you were going for, since the contact's text and the souvenir doesn't really support it. The souvenir is wonderful, a very well written thought on how a place can die and be mourned.

Thank you. Note: you don't have to be a villain to play this arc. Heroes can do so just fine. Only reason not to is if you don't want to roleplay this. Interesting use of AE, using it as an extension for another game.

Well, someone has to go first. This is one of my arcs that I originally wrote back when the game was live. Through Rose-Tinted Glasses Arc ID: 22 5 missions, includes AVs that can downgrade to EBs An elderly and half-blind lady is under the delusion your villain is actually Manticore, in spite of all the evidence. Fortunately for you, she knows some secrets you could find quite useful... I welcome all feedback and criticism. Hope you enjoy!

Hey Defiant people! We've got a Discord! https://discord.gg/RqwA9cn We've also got a global channel on Homecoming! "Defiant Chat" And various SGs called Defiant, ask around in either of those places! Sorry Onions, you'll need to do 10 tips and an alignment change mission before you can join.

I don't know how you lot can afford any of this but I'm grateful

Going to bed but I look forward to playing some when I get back from work!

Reported... not sure to whom but such sacrilege surely has to be reported somewhere... I didn't say it was bad

Scrapperlock is a dangerous affliction. For you. For your enemies. For your teammates. Just generally perilous.

Thanks a lot for all your hard work, it's been a wonder to play again tonight and I have definitely enjoyed it and appreciated it. If I can make a suggestion, it would be nice to get some clarification on who the current Homecoming team is in the near future. I was very surprised to read that you're not affiliated with the big discord. Things have been very confusing with the community in this insane flux, so it would be good to know who's in charge and contributing here! (as long as it's not infringing your privacy)
