Tell me, @Sovera ye who's Fire Armor wisdom is only surpassed by OMG IT'S A SLEEPING KITTEN! My first 50 on HC was a Fire Armor/Staff tank based on my old D&D char I have been loving since around 1996 or so. But then I was kindly informed that this powerset combo sucked. Bad. So I kinda shelved the poor guy. Not looking to turn him to a +4 x8 machine or anything but, is it true that the combo is so bad? I kinda want to give him a second chance.

This explains everything so wonderfully. I should have known that Zathras knew. Then again, Rad/ is by far my favorite powerset so, I think I'll make a Sovera of myself and MAKE ALL THE RAD/ TANKS. I'd vary with Brutes but I assume they don't enjoy the same AoE caps?

What makes Axe so special on Tankers? To my neophyte eye, it's just Lethal damage and some knockdown. What makes it such an ideal partner for the likes of Bio and Rad?

It does suck when a powerset you love changes in way you don't like. I've been looking through patch notes again to try and find what changed. All I found was that Firery Embrace now affects more Epic sets, pretty sure those aren't the changes you mentionned. I guess I'm blind. What changed? Or better, what patch so I can just read it?

This is how I make my builds. 🙂 But yeah, whenever I post them, they get taken apart by the proc-people. They're like the mole people, but only once in a while and generally when you visit them less often. (Tried to make a proc joke. I still need coffee. Sue me.)

Nice build(s). You've been very sparse with procs in there. Not a proc person? It's what I hate doing the most when I make builds. I never where to put procs. How well would this powerset combo do on a scrapper? I know you lose 15% resists but you gain in crits. What I love about tanks is the generous AoEs and Cones so I assume that /Fire is really good on Tanks though.

Very nice. Looking at Stone armor on Mids at the moment. Granite is such a cool idea but I assume it must become extremely aggravating in the end. Gonna look at your builds now. Always been a fan of your builds.

I want one of those. How is it on the DPS side? Fire being fire as usual?

Such happy responses so far! Never tried a Stone tanker. Stone/Fire looks like a crowd favorite, I should try it. Which brings my next question: Stone has been revamped?? I live under a rock! (I'm SO funny). Seriously, what changed? I checked patch notes since 2024/01 and haven't found anything. Never had a Axe/ or /Axe anything either. Looks like something that's about to change! I see that Savage Melee has been avoided so far. Bad tank set? Better on a scrapper? A brute? Better left forgotten?

Hi tankers!! After the HUGE success of my epic "give me your hidden gem" AT/Combo for scrappers topic, I'm looking for the same kind of insight from and for tankers, starting with those three I have here. -Bio/Savage -SR/Savage -Bio/Psi Melee They're all low level so I don't really care if a better combo pups up. Are there some keepers in there or were those all dubious choices? I know Bio rather well, I have little experience with SR but it looks like a very solid, no-nonsense set. I have very little experience with Savage melee and I have not ever played any Psi Melee. As far as tankers go, I already have a Rad/Claw (my main character), an Ice/Ice, a Elec/DM (that tanker is DOPE) and a Fire/Staff (which is... meeeh). All of those are 50 or very close. Let's hear it! Your insight is gold!

Yomo's topic brought to my eyes the "Ice/Stone" combo, courtesy of @electric_emu It sounds... I need to play this. I need this in my life. I have never played a /Stone armor aything. I need it. Now. @Xandyr also makes an excellent sales pitch for Staff/Dark My options keep going up. It's Christmas in May.

I have Combat Teleport on my NRG/NRG scrapper but never learned to use it properly. Would you impart us that juicy macro wisdom please? 🙂

So many good answers!! Ninjitsu... never tried it. Partly because I'm allergic to everything ninja/medieval japanese but mostly because .. I dunno. It does look cool on paper, I ought to give it a try. That 8-sec Invis-WHAM-BAM gimmick looks fun, I have to admit. I'm not a fan of clickable mez protection but then again, I love doing builds without hasten. I hate cookie-cutter builds. Now THOSE are sexy. Spines/Bio looks like a real fun powerhouse but Spines/Ice looks like an orgy of orange numbers with soft control. It would also give me an excuse to start Goldside and play a Praetorian/vilain version of my Ice/Ice tank. I'm now off to read @Yomo Kimyata's extensive Scrapper topic and I look forward to all your future suggestions and I'm surprised nobody mentionned Fire melee yet, I thought it was a big crowd pleaser.

I feel the itch for a new scrapper and I was just curious to ask: what are your hidden gems out there? I already have an Energy/Energy and a Rad/Rad to 50 (the single target monster and the AoE machine, respectively). I have already done Claws and Katana to 50 on live, so I'm looking for something else. I'm asking here because the other day, someone mentioned a tanker powerset combo (Elec Armor/DM if you're curious) and my first thought was "Huh, that's weird." but I tried it and by Statesman well-shaved chin, this was one of the most fun characters EVER. So I'm fishing for ideas. What's that secret scrapper that I'm just not seeing? Thanks!

Hello! Not really an archetype question so I figured I should ask here. Does the Gaussian's Synchronized Fire Control: Chance for Build Up proc give a visual indication when it does proc? Like "PREVENTIVE MEDICINE" that pops up every now and then? I had it slotted in Dark Consumption for a good while now and I'm not sure it really does anything. Thank you!
