I waited a long time before posting here because I wanted a real solid answer. I have it now. Rad/Claw tank. It is ridiculous. It is a thing of beauty. Such power shouldn't be legal and I don't even have Shockwave yet. It is an AoE beast that is super easy to spec. It murders everything and it is a super easy build to resist cap that keeps healing itself and never dies. By level 31, I was destroying x8 +0 missions. I insist on "destroying". It was unbelievably fast and absolutely safe. At level 33, I am upping to x8 +1 and +2 will probably follow soon. I can't get enough of that character, it solidified Tanker as my favorite AT. Play one. Play one now. Edit: Rad/Claw, not Inv/Claw. Though I'm sure Inv/Anything is awesome too.

I have my wife account for that, and I have one character of my own there, a farmer I use when I feel like that (which is, almost never). So that's indeed a viable idea/solution, thank you. And you do know that you can run 2 instances of the game on the same PC right? On the launcher, click the white arrow at the right of the HOMECOMING title to start a second instance of the game. It's such a light game, it's almost the same as running one. Alt-tab is your friend. Thank you very much for your suggestion, much appreciated!!

@Snarky That's quite a sale's pitch and I will surely come along as well. I just need to figure how to move things over my characters without access to my own SG base.

A quick search through this forum came back negative so here it is: I love the "Contact -> Find Contact" option but it mostly contains the more "recent" arc contacts and the Wards contacts. Is it possible to expand the list so it contains all the legacy contacts as well? I know you're supposed to meet them through normal contact progression but let's face it, with double XP and huge teams, you can quickly go from Kings Row to Brickstown with a solid group without ever playing a single of YOUR missions/contacts, so you kinda lose your point of.... well, contact. I'm not the biggest fan of the various Wards contents and there's only so many times I'm ready to help Graham Easton before I go stir mad. So there you go.

Well, the 20 tanker is 27 now. Dared the star again, cleared two whole Talos Arcs. We weren't the most efficient and there was less talking today, but the mood was good and fun was had. A little bit of admittance: every time I made one of these groups, I secretly hoped one or a few of you guys would be in there. I would love so much to play with my forum buddies!!

It's not always easy. Right now, I'm in Talos, doing an arc and I keep telling myself "I should gather people". So why don't I? I dunno. Maybe after my first coffee.

My Ice/Ice tank is like this because of Frost. She hovers, still in melee range, but just high enough to allow the cone to face down. It is honestly pure awesome. The amount of people I hit with this cone is stupid-high and I don't even have to move to follow up with ST-melee.

Steamrolling messed with well beyond /traps, it messed with entire ATs and aspects of the game. But your second statement is what I love here. No, my controller won't shine in a level 54 steamroller group the way shs did in a middle 20 group, but you can be sure as heck that she won't be useless either.

Over the years, there were quite a few choices that didn't work for me but I'd be very hard pressed to admit that there are combos that universally suck for absolutely everyone. I suck at blasters/corrupters as a whole and I can't play a defender to save my life, but it's not because my Fire/fire blaster eats more concrete than inspirations that it's the case for everyone,

This topic has no purpose other than: I feel good and I want people around me to share the good feels. Level 8 tanker, wanted to level fast and I didn't want to solo tonight. I didn't want to wait for some group to magically appear. So I decided to tame the star and make my own. Started a Hollows group, took a while to get started, but it got there after 1-2 missions. I maintained a full group for a solid 2 hours, cleared the Hollows contacts, cleared Lockhart story arc. It was an epic blast, the synergy was there, jokes, puns, one liners AND enemies kept flying. My tank is level 20 now. I love her hard. Can't wait to level her further. What a night. If you see your name there: you rocked my world tonight. As expected of the legend. Considering how I haven't got a single Lv50 so far, I need to liquidate all these Winter Purples before the new (hypothetical) event starts.

What do you need? I have a few hundred in stock I can send you way, send them back when you can get more at a price you like. I really don't mind.

Now that convenience allows, I also use my own SG base trainer NPC but I remember early on live, getting your level 50 was such a big deal, we sometimes -walked- back to Ms. Liberty when a SG-mate reached 50. Good times.

Just so we're clear: IOs onthe market do not exist at a levelled state. Here is a short explanation. Fictionnal situation: -There is currently no LOTG DEFENSE IO at the maket and no bids entered (Ludicrous, I know). -I put my Level 32 LOTG DEFENSE IO up for sale for 2M. -Someone else puts a level 43 LOTG DEFENSE IO up for sale for 3M. -There are now two "level independant" LOTG DEFENSE IOs for sale. (You can buy one (or both) at any level you wish as long as it's within that IO's level range, or even attuned.) -You decide that you want one Level 50 LOTG DEFENSE IO, you put your bid for 2.2M Inf, which is sufficient to buy at my price. -You obtain one Level 50 LOTG DEFENSE IO. -There is now one "level independant" LOTG DEFENSE IOs for sale.

I am not knowledgeable enough to give a valid, mathematical opinion on this issue but this lack of expertise allows me to appreciate both sides of the fence and I can say that both camps make interesting and valid claims. If this was to prompt any change, I'd be curious to see what happens. However, I do have something else to add. I don't know if going about the mix-and-match idea would break the game or not, but I do wish there were more interesting hybrid options among IO sets. I mean, if I play a Ice Controller, I will most likely slot Slow or Hold sets here and there because they're arguably worth it, but when I play my Ice tank, I wish I had options to slot something between a damage set or a slow set for my powers. I know that the next large update brings the new Ice Mistral's Tormen which is exactly that so, I hope to see more of those come by in the future.

I have ideas. So many ideas. Then I try to make concepts with them. Then I roll, and I play. Then I break. My break point is generally around level 26-28 when I need to branch into power pools and take the character build seriously. I generally get discouraged and just start something new. To this day, I have 3-4 characters that (with the help of some really nice people here) have risen passed that hurdle but still, as of today, even if I have played hundreds and hundreds of hours since Homecoming started... ... I have yet to reach level 50. Well, I had a farmer which was PLed to 50 but that doesn't count and she's been gathering dust forever. ... ... Oh we're talking about unusual ways of playing? Ok. Ok. I'm left-handed. There.

I dunno.... seems to me that the difference between "No" and "No, this just sucks" is still relevant and worth taking the time to type. (Ok I'll stop now)
