  1. Only if you promise to talk smack at me! All my characters are on Excelsior too. Global is the same as my forum name so any of you guys can hit me up if you see me there, I always love to group and I have absolutely no problems with PuGs.
  2. I really wish I had friends to talk smack to. It sounds fun. Actually, I really wish I had friends.
  3. I've never defeated the Hamidon, much less got the kill shot. Well, I've never fought the Hamidon. To be fair, I have never seen the hamidon either. I am COH's oldest newb.
  4. First post, second item "High visibility mouse cursor". It completely changed my game.
  5. Make sure you play in Full Screen and not in Windowed Full Screen. I play on a multi monitor setup and it works just fine. Multi box and multi account is tolerated as long as the server is not congested (three red dots at logon) and it's reasonnable. (Interpret that as you will, but I assume that if you play 8 accounts at once, you might be frowned upon). Edit: Also, check the mod section for the enhanced (read: HUGE) mouse pointers. They ARE a game changer.
  6. Died From Boredom: Play Death From Below until you have all 4 temp powers. It's fine already, just go!: Change the color palette of a single corsume 50 times. Because THAT SHADE OF GOLD IS HARD TO GET OK?
  7. I played 3.5. And 3, and Advanced. I think I even played a bit of Basic. I got teased, I guess. Probably. Didn't notice, was busy having a good time playing D&D. I have ginger hair and a weird name so if I stopped every time someone made fun of me... People make fun of other people all the time to cover their own insecurity. I have absolutely no idea that that is ๐Ÿ™‚ (I'll google it) Synonyms where I live. Though you might be sarcastic there, I'm not sure. As I said, not my first language.
  8. A geek is someone who really goes all out in a hobby or a field. I'm a geek. A nerd is a derogatory word used to tease people who show and value intellect and the accumulation of knowledge. Over time, the word became worn as something of a pride. Being a nerd is good, and valued. I am also a nerd. Then again, by the very definition of CoH, it's a good bet that 99%+ people here know this because they're also geeks. And nerds. We're all the same brothers and sisters of such fine quality. Precisely. ๐Ÿงก Edit: Typos because English is not my first language and trying to be eloquent when you mess your verb tenses, well...
  9. I smell a conspiracy to twart our plan to use the annual Winter Pack sale event. Very evil.
  10. What a beautiful topic. Can't believe I originally missed it. So who is Power Creep. Power Creep has existed since Issue 1, perhaps even before. No one knows who rolled him or on what server he was. It is said that on Sunset(TM), Power Creep was backed up somewhere so he could continue on when the sun would once again rise on Homecoming. Because Power Creep knew. Power Creep has no definite archetype. He uses all and none at once. His Primary Power set is called "Evolution Opportunism", it comprises of various mysterious powers such as: Patch Note Absorption Power Tweak Optimisation Set Bonuses Augmentation Power Prolification Focus Tweak up His Secondary Power set is called "Changeability", it comprises of various wonderful powers such as: Nerf Protection Enhancement Diversification immunity Pre-Nerf Instant Healing Private Accolade Vendor Skill Balance resistance Just like Megaman used to defeat boss monsters to acquire new skills "Now I got your power!!", Power Creep defeats updates and acquired every bit of advantage that time and change brings to a game. Every single time a dev changes something to the game engine, Power Creep finds a way to utilize and optimize that change. Power Creep does not have a level cap. He just goes on and on and on.
  11. You can't just drop a line like that without some form of foreplay beforehand. It's just... wrong. And hot.
  12. According to Mids: Permanently removes the interrupt time Aid Other (which can be make-or-break for someone with low defense does that even exist in CoH2021?) Adds Endurance recovery to Aid Self (never a bad thing I guess) Grant a powerful boost in the effectiveness of your healing powers (25% more) Reduce your resistance to healing debuffs. But yes, it's three powers to get a heal that, once enhanced, will give you about 65% of your health for a 3.33 (initial) + 4.33 (each cast) seconds cast. If you want people to stop making cookie-cutter Kick/Tough/weave builds, making this pool more palatable might be a good start. Healing is, by far, CoH's least interesting and least effective form of damage mitigation. Therefore, Aid Other is a joke. Aid Self might be a fun thing, if it was a bit more accessible, but it's super hard to go there without encouraging even more power-creep and invincible builds. To be clear: I am absolutely against OP's proposal. Making god-tier builds is already easy enough. What I'd want, personally, would be for pool powers to be more interesting, not more uber. But I can 100% admit that I lack the science and knowledge necessary to suggest feasible ways. I'm just really good at complaining.
  13. For me, seeing will be believing: I'm going to roll that tank, try it and see.
  14. I'm among the least min-max people you'll ever meet, all I really want is to have fun in the game but you still have to admit, that it one HECK of a chain breaking activation time there. Unless you like going HEAL-PBAOE-HEAL-PBAOE-HEAL-PBAOE-HEAL ad nauseam in where you would pretty much be invincible but your missions would take years to complete.
  15. I was about to write a soapbox-tantrum explaining how the Healing pool just sucks anyways but the more I look at it, the more I think I want to try it in a heal-deprived tank build. Try to go without Tough/Weave for once and have a way to get some HP back. Well. Hello, new alt. Edit: Holy Molly activation time STATESMAN. I might reconsider my soapbox after all.
  16. I say we turn Boxing and Kick into travel powers, a bit like you could use rocket launchers to jump higher in Quake. Boxing = You like to pretend you're too cool for brawl yet, you're just a super strength wannabe. You punch an enemy so ridiculously so ineptly hard that the recoil sends you flying in a random direction. Kick = You thought you could chose this power although you didn't pick Martial Arts as your main? Well guess what? Kicking correctly is HARD. You miss so badly that you and up completely elsewhere. Yup.
  17. I like when my meta gets really complicated. Besides, Ghost Widow would like to have a word with you.
  18. OF COURSE I HAVE HOVER CLICKED! WHAT DO I LOOK LIKE? A MIDS NEWBIE?? haahahhahhaha hahhah FML. (That was it. Thank you! I love you.)
  19. No alpha yet. 95% of my enhancements are attuned, some are 50 but since I'm also 50, its potatoes/potatoes. That might just be. I'll check in combat. Huh. I can't explain that one. THE PLOT THICKENS. Edit: Combat does not seem to affect Energy cloak. I have also made sure I don't have any weird temporary powers going but we would see them in the list in the first post. I don't know if there's a reliable way to have mids display every effective source for a given stat like the game does in the second and third pictures I put in the initial post.
  20. Hello beautiful people. First: here's the build. Now, I followed that build to a T. Same. Exact thing. So, why am I seeing this: And this: The numbers aren't the same. They seem better on my game side than on Mids but, I want to understand why! Thanks!
  21. Lots of solid (and emotional) arguments here. The game changed, changes and will change again. Ask yourself: Does a specific change REALLY prevent you from playing the way you like? You like the long way to 50? It's still there! What sort of obstacle do legions of 50 PLed players place in the way of that? None. Heck, legions of 50s made the market sink to ridiculously accessible levels, allowing people like me to drown in Inf and people not like me to afford excellent builds without having to grind for weeks. Embrace the new but don't sacrifice what you love. I appreaciate the best of both worlds. I take the team/solo route to 50 but I'm not afraid to use the 2X exp from the P2W to get through some level ranges I have played a hundred times already. And If I don't want it, I just don't take it. I am seriously not convinced that any of the changes made on Homecoming breaks the game for those who want to play it like it used to.
  22. Last Wednesday, Fabel my very first 50. Tonight, Clementine, my second. I guess Wednesdays are where CoH happens for me!! ๐Ÿ˜„
  23. Nevermind, I'm dumb, blind or both. There was one of the translucent walls around the Chantry that was immaterial, I just stepped through and finished the mission. Also: ๐Ÿงก
  24. Hello beautiful people. Doing Maria Jenkin's arc. Which sent me here I have destroyed every single mob in there (which brought me super, super close to my level 50 ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ) but now, no idea. I have never found Black Swan and the Chantry area remains inaccessible. What am I missing? A glowie somewhere?
