    LightForm isn't a "toggle'.

    It's a GodMode Resistance armor.

But the game is such that with sufficient recharge you can essentially "perma" it.

^This. You basically just need to watch out for the crash, use your heals and hit it again haha. Fun fact is, if you are somehow BELOW 50% health when the crash hits, it’ll heal you haha

    46 14 95 Dom Fire Control\Earth Assault

I have a Fire/Earth toon, but it’s not a Dom. Been awhile since I ran one, so it’s a contender.

    99 57 33 Tank Radiation Armor\Fire Melee

Easy to envision thematically.and I do like tanks. But not a fan of the swords. I’d have to deviate a bit, using Fighting.

    77 65 41 Sent Ice Blast\Fiery Aura

Yin yang theme. And I do enjoy Sentinels.

    Will mull and create soon!

All awesome choices. Rad/Fiery is a top tier choice for a Tanker, from what I’ve heard.

  3. Came across this post and had to Necro 😂 such a fun idea. Very “comic book” I feel as well, with cosmic/random event giving your hero superpowers.

39-34-65: Dominator - Elec/Dark. I’ve yet to run a Dom to 50. I know @oedipus_tex and @Onlyasandwich have some builds lying around if I go this route!

31-77-94: Defender - Thermal/Water Blast. Idk if there is any synergy here, but I know both sets are great on their own!

73-70-4: Tanker - Shield/Battle Axe. I’ve ran Shield to 50, but haven’t played new Battle Axe. I hear it is good after the updates.

Time to chew on these choices for a bit!

  4. QQ heroes and villians!

I know that VEATS are finally getting some power customization next patch (animations, power recolor, etc). Really stoked for it!

I was curious though…. Does this also include weapon customization? I BELIEVE Bane’s get some different mace choices, but not a lot. Are there plans to add more? And I know Widows only get the one option for claws. Does more weapon customization come along with the patch as well?

Shield/Fire is a very explosive combo. If you like impact and combustion, it's the set for you. Very fun to play and very visually exciting.

I could see Shield Charge + FSC + Combustion just decimating groups. I was searching the forums and couldn’t really find a build. Can you point me in the direction of one?

I don't like MB because the abysmal 65% chance to proc Focus means you lose a lot of AS crits as a result.

    AS -> SR (95%) -> PS (80%) -> MB (65%)

    implies

0.95 * 0.80 * 0.65 = 0.494 = 49.4% chance to have 3 stacks of Focus. Half of the time, you will fail to crit.

    Meanwhile AS -> SS (100%) -> SR (95%) -> PS (80%)

gives you 76% chance for 3 stacks. 3 out of 4 is a significant step up from 1 out of 2, in reliability.

SS gives you a meaty crit, great resistances, strong soft control. Its lengthy animation is a great spot for procs.

Now I know even critless AS does great DPA. So I can believe a AS SR PS MB chain would be optimal for DPS in static situations against tough targets.

But there's a lot more flexibility to AS SS SR PS in general.

The resistances are especially nice with the right combination. If +10% pushes you from 60% to 70%, the upside is asymmetric.

I have a Staff/Invul I played about 2 years ago, was very happy with the combo. Could take on +4/x8 Rularuu with relatively tame insp use, and I'm confident this is thanks to the +res and knockups/downs. In all fairness Invul is probably the secondary where Sky Splitter shines best, between the passive nature of Invul (gives room for slow animations) and the native resistances.

I also was a Placateless noob at the time, so make of that what you will.

I guess I'm a MB hater above all. It's just too weak of an attack. Low Focus chance. Fast recharge + fast animation makes for terrible proc rate. Ability to slot an Achilles' Heel doesn't make up for it, for reasons - I could page Sovera to rant about this one. Really, all tier1 Stalker attacks with a 3s or 4s recharge are kind of ass...

Great info here. Quick question:  does AS SS SR PS as an attack chain give you the resists on Sky Splitter? I thought that only happened when you used a spender on it, unless you can have a spender lined up after you open with AS.

I vaguely remember someone tested or did the calculation, and Staff's best attack chain on a Stalker is AS-SR-PS-MB-repeat. Maintaining the Body Perfection stacks made it better than burning them and rebuilding.

But I hear you, SS and EotS are pretty awesome looking attacks. I like using them, usually SS/EotS right after AS. My attack chain is typically AS-SS-PS-SR-MB-repeat for single target. AS-EotS-SR-MB-GS-repeat for AoE. But I run without Hasten. You could probably go:

    ST: AS-SS-SR-MB-repeat
    AoE: AS-EotS-GS-MB-repeat

This was EXTREMELY helpful Fox, thank you. I guess I should not really try to get so caught up on Lv 3 Sky Splitter. The resists probably aren’t that huge of a thing for a Stalker anyways.

  8. Hey all!

So I rolled a Staff/Stone Stalker (themed after a Dragoon!) and I really enjoy him. Tough as nails and some pretty decent damage.

I’m stuck on an attack chain out of hide for him though. I want to use the build/spender aspect on Staff, so I can either get the +resists on Sky Splitter or the extra damage on Eye of the Storm. I’m not sure if it jives with the stalkers ATO and when we should use Assassin’s Strike though.

If anyone has a Staff Stalker, I’d love to hear what attack chain(s) you use!

Damn you. I've spent 20 mins making a mids build too. Looks tasty.

But I already have 2 waters and 2 trick arrows. But it looks so fun.

I really need to just figure out a concept for Water/Trick Arrow 😂

Electric is a fantastic set, but IMO is better on Defenders for the reason you said, it's just very busy.

Have you thought about sets that don't have a self heal since you have dehydrate?

Poison, Force Field, Trick Arrow, heck, even Sonic would go well with water.

This makes sense. Water/Poison or Water/FF seem cool concept wise.

You are going to have to have a great concept or a really good build idea to stand above (or next to) cold domination on the Corr.  I just started an Ice/Dark.  Which is perfect for me, concept and playstyle wise.  But Cold Dom is more powerful.  Not even in doubt

Haha that is true, Cold is top tier! Just thought why not give something new a whirl 🤷‍♂️

  12. Hey all!

Coming back home after taking a bit of a break. I’ve ran Water Blast once before, pairing it with Cold Domination.

I really enjoy it as a blast set and want to give it another go! I wanted to pick some minds and see if anyone had any secondaries they feel pairs nicely/has good synergy with Water Blast?

Water/Rad seems pretty popular. Great debuffs with it’s anchors that you can lay down and blast away.

Water/Kin seems like it’d be a good time. Water has nice AOE, and Kin might help shore up some of its weaker ST dmg.

Water/Time seems pretty synergistic. I wonder if it is slow overkill though!

    Water/Elec Affinity…. Might be a bit TOO busy 😂

These are some that came to mind, but I’d love to hear what you like to pair with Water Blast!

DM will pair nicely with anything, but the to hit debuff screams a defensive set. Such would be SR, Nin, Energy, etc., but it would be up to you. Oh and my all time favorite is Shield defense.

+1. I believe DM/Shield was one of the original “do it all” Scrappers. Just so synergistic.

Here’s some footage of me messing with it on beta. It feels incredible. Shout out to the devs for making sure Stalkers didn’t walk out of this update with a nerf.

Going into hide from ATO or Placate feels very reliable now when you’re trying to land follow-up crits.

Very nice! What is that new jump up and hit movie, kind of like Mighty Radial?

Edit: it could be Thunderstrike, but I don’t remember it having that large of a radius/KD effect.

Shield is also very strong. It's noticeably less powerful once you get into higher content though. Especially 4* with a good team comp. Bio, Rad, Fiery Aura are probably your best there. The benefits of Shield get less potent when you have Kinetics and Cold Domination on your team.

Super Reflexes and Shield are amazing for everything up to that though.

Might have to try that Rad Armor/SS everyone raves about. Or maybe Rad/MA.
