I asked for a SG on Excelsior the other day when I was playing and a couple were mentioned like Cosmic Council and I was told there were recruitments in the evening but I never saw one then.

Is there a base list with codes for Excelsior somewhere? 🙂 I looked at several today that I got the codes for in general chat. It's just been fun to look. 🙂

Ok I mathed it. selling converters at 70 each, nets you 63k each after taxes which like 159 converters to get 10m not what you said.

Uhm... are you including the 5% listing fee and 5% tax on sold items in your calculations? Not going to math it. I usually use merits for winter e's which are normally around 20m each. I don't see the point in just hoarding merits "cause it's better to farm and buy them with inf". And 300 converters sold works out near/less than the cost of those if you consider tax.

@Ukase I will share my thoughts on the 2xp thing. When you sit on someone farms they get less Inf. Saying you want to get inf instead of xp is the same as "give me free inf" because you are getting part of what they should. I really don't understand why people level the beggars just like I don't understand why someone who says in LFG "ned 10m influance pls" actually gets people sending it to them.

FF14 has fun crafting, but I doubt that system could support the demand. Runescape is just clicking on things and waiting. Wow is about the same as this except you don't need to use crafting stations.

So maybe that was a harsh thing to say, but there *is* elitism by the majority of folks in the game who are def. older which you also confirmed. There was a conversation I listened to in game not too long ago for a while that started out polite but degenerated into "we're old and better and everything that isn't old sucks". I feel like there will never be a new crowd of people to play or continue to play with this attitude but maybe the vets just want to keep it that way. 😕 I wonder how often a youngish player tries out the game and actually gets accepted as a person in the community beyond just getting useful tips and a greeting by the welcoming team or inf from their parents who play. 😕 I def. don't feel like I fit in which leads to frustration and my off and on playing. 😕 I played on live during the last couple years it was up which is why I keep coming back. I still like the game. I had friends back then, but it's different now and I only have one person on my friends list after several months of playing. Just thought I would share that.

Oh if the xp was removed from ae, I'd have less Emps to send to my characters as I fire farm for myself for inf, drops and stuff. I'm guessing there would be a huge increase in "lowbie LF PI radios".

The problem I have is the begging all day and night especially on weekends for someone to level them. If you wanna level your own characters that's fine, but I doubt a majority actually do that with second accounts. "it defeats the purpose of sitting" is what I've heard. "Put them on ignore" is also what people say. Dozens of different people would end up on my ignore list over time and then you get the problem of people talking to "themselves" because you can't see the other people.

I played for a while before I quit gaming a couple weeks and then returned to HC. I got "stuck" on the Scoundrel storyline because I was supposed to *deleted due to spoiler sorry* I thought... "That's something I would never do." and quit doing the story missions and there was no way to continue. I don't really RP that I'm my character exactly, it just seemed so incredibly stupid I refused to do it. The first chapter of Scoundrel was REALLY good in so many ways, but the 2nd chapter was completely different and I hated it and the 3rd was what I quit on. I barely touched the other stories as I only played for a few weeks and I was very slow compared to others in my guild. There seemed to be nothing else to do after I quit the story and reached max level. I didn't want to go through "dungeons" for the same reasons I quit doing them in other games. The achievement system was very lacking. Conquest was cool in theory and I was really into that especially since my guild gave out rewards based on performance and it was just fun getting points until I realized... the main ways to get points was doing "dungeons" and pvp crap and without that I couldn't get enough points to get the guild rewards. 😞 Pvp is really popular there. I never did it but there's apparently battles with characters and battles with ships. I do task/strike forces in this game which may make no sense since I wouldn't do it in SW. I don't pvp at all though. I agree with the naming system as being the worse. Also... it was like every name I "made up" in other games was somehow taken in the game as well even misspelled things with a letter dropped off at the end. Also I tried using my real first name along with various other added names on, but none of them were acceptable by the system because my first name has a certain combo of letters in it which really made me mad. 😕 SW definitely beats this game in one way though: the dancing is phenomenal. Soooo many fun dances. 🙂

So I always thought it was normal for the bottom portions of the permission windows to be cut off and inaccessible in salvage and enhancement containers in my base, but I found a fix once someone else mentioned they were having the same problem and everyone else thought they were crazy. (Don't laugh at the junk in that particular table. 😛 ) There's no way to resize the window pulling any of the edges. Moving it around or changing the game resolution does nothing. I figured out if I go to "options/windows" there was an option for *me* and the other person but not on some others computers who I was discussing it with. The setting was to enable automatic UI scaling. It was set to on by default and when I undid it, a slide bar appeared and it was at 150% which I reduced to 100% and everything got really small and hard to read but the window was not cut off anymore. I have an gigabyte nvidia gf 2060 using it on two 2k monitors. I play in windowed mode on my main monitor but I did try moving the game window to the other monitor and it didn't change the original problem. Nor did setting full screen mode. I've used windows 10 and 11 and had this problem on both versions. Oh and the other person who had the problem confirmed this worked for them. We both set permissions on all the racks we had in small ui mode and then I went back and enabled the setting again so I could see. 😛 I didn't know which forum this should go in, but I did a search to see if anyone else had posted about it and didn't see anything but I'm not the best at search queries. At least uhm... 5 or 6 of us didn't know how to fix it or had even heard of this problem at the time so I'm just sharing.

Uhm... does anyone know/knew someone who played the characters Kinderkatzen and Clockwork Dreams on Victory? I would like to say hi to him. 😕 I don't think anyone remembers me though and that's ok. I only played the last 2-3 years it was up and was super annoying I'm sure so I'm hesitant to give out my old global and character names. >_< Most of this thread looks like it came from 2019, but I recognized so many names when I was looking just now.

Ok, if people want to sell things all day they can... creating a monopoly and flipping stuff and causing artificial inflation is not ok. Or... is inflation and price gouging good? I forget.

I think I have a right to leave if someone cranks up the diff on a task force/strike force after starting and refuses to turn it down and it drags it out because it's they think it's good xp. After *asking* what diff something is going to be run at before we start only to have it run higher without turning it down has made me quit before due to time constraints. If you don't think a +2 synapse takes a toll on your sanity and lasts longer than a +0 I'm not sure you've done it before. 😕 Advertising you are running a +4 manticore is different than just advertising for a manticore that you are secretly going to run at +4... I shouldn't have to explain why. And yes... that situation happened to me and I quit. Griefing badges might be the worst or one of them. I know DFB can dumb, but the last one I went in a guy aoed all the zombies about 3 seconds before the boss dropped to ruin it and a a couple times a guy has ran ahead of everyone during the last group of vahz and was already attacking the zombies when the team arrived at the boss. I worry about getting yelled at in "Master of" no death things in case I happen to be the person who messes up so almost never go. I guess I'm glad not to do it if people intentionally troll them. 😞

I dunno if it was mentioned at any point in this thread, but back on Live if you clicked and claimed too many items in a short amount of time from the AH it would lock up too. I specifically remember it happening to me. It's like... the game isn't about opening super packs and marketing, yet in every MMO some people play the game like it's about making money.

I dunno about ya'll, but I'm gonna celebrate later with a nice bottle of... Sparkling Enriche. After one or two glasses, maybe I'll feel comfortable enough to impress all the guys at the club with my "The Monkey" dance skills. 🙂 Anyone else have plans? 🙂

I did Corporate Culture and Library of Souls a few days ago for the first time, Placta. 🙂 Good stuff. 🙂 I also agree about the Carnie hunt in Upon the Psychic Plane. >_> There were so few I found, after a while I started killing everything in an area in Peregrine, but still couldn't figure out if that gave the carnies a chance to spawn or not because I'm pretty sure someone else was killing them there at the time hehe. 🙂 I know everyone thinks it's terrible, but by the end of Twinshot's final arc, I was all emotional and thought it was actually a good story. Ok. I regret I questioned this community. While I've had some negative experiences with a few people, since I made this post yesterday, everyone's been willing to help me out. I've legitly gotten Master of Eden, Master of Diabolique and Master of Keyes today pretty much due to far more experienced and superior gamers. @_@ I'm SO relieved I didn't mess any of those up even though I don't think I was much help for Keyes except with the fighting. I did read the hc wiki for some of the stuff I listed but the raid leader explained everything much better. Thanks Doughboy for letting me know. I was there just now. @_@

Yes... "it's just a game" I know. I have anxiety issues irl though and I've had a rough day already (not game related.)

You know... I messaged someone forming a MoEden and said I'd never been, no idea what to do, and could I go anyway. I was only half serious because I was 100% sure I would either not get an answer or denied. I... got to go. And we won. 😮 I think my hands started shaking following them down the holes. @_@

I started out on Everlasting, but now I play on Excelsior. Maybe I should try leveling a character on the others... except the pvp server. >_> I have only been back (again) a month since taking a long hiatus after the summer when I played before.

Lots of replies. 😮 Thanks for all your input everyone. 😮 I guess I'm attempting to do this stuff at a bad time if there are a lot of new "master of" badges. I haven't had a chance to do anything in game today due to offline obligations and won't be able to for another few hours. Soloing Ms. Liberty TF prolly isn't possible with my character. 😕 since I'm under the impression it's pretty hard. I think it's basically hit or miss with people. While I said I hadn't been to Market Crash I still got in, but couldn't find a group for Lord Recluse "old" ouro badge run hehe. That's the stuff I see run though. "MoEden" "Master of Sewers", "MoMAG" etc. The casual crowd does other things like leveling characters, positrons, manticores, PI radios which I'm familiar with. I'm not a very good gamer (in any game), but I would like to try some of this high level stuff without all the pressure of being perfect when I go. 😕 What happens if I go on a "master of" and die or cause a death? I mean some people get upset just missing Cadaver Counter badge hehe.
