The only MMOs I can say I really enjoyed were CoH and Age of Conan, which was the closest thing to the sword and sandals MMO I always wanted. But like other games, it had a difficulty wall; it also had need and greed drama, and raids where you just couldn't play a melee character because you were constantly being told to break off and stand over there. This involved too much catherding. Live voice chat, immersion breaking, was absolutely necessary to do it.

Another odd thing I noticed is that these forums don't have a word wrap. Seems to be OK when saved, though.

Servers apparently died while I was in a train station. Tried to log in but it said the character was in an 'unknown' map and got kicked out. Obviously something crashed and needs a reboot.

Correction: you want Dark Watcher's Despair for WP Rise to the Challenge. For the Spines attacks the proc is in Pacing of the Turtle.

I made my broadsword scrapper Technology orign. A broadsword is technology, innit? It probably helped that the character wasn't sure how his broadsword worked.

Rise to the Challenge, your weak taunt aura, also takes To Hit Debuff sets. This is why it drops in PvP, and why WP characters should stay away. At any rate, it's a good place for a Dark Watcher's Despair Chance for Recharge Slow even if you don't use anything else from the set.

I really enjoyed my Spines/Willpower scrapper. Spines is a cheap set to trick out because you can get good bonuses from sets that are not much in demand. There are a couple Chance for Recharge Slow procs that it takes, Dark Watcher's Despair IIRC, and you can have multiple instances of that in your aura, your pulsing PBAOE, and even Caltrops. That puts a lot of debuff on the baddies in very short time. Spines is a very end heavy set, so Willpower is the obvious secondary. When nothing else was going on I'd log to my spines scrapper and go work the Roman wall.
