I made a regen scrapper on Homecoming, knowing full well what I was getting into. The character plays like a dream when exemped, but basically has no role to play in endgame content. Unlike most of my melees, I did not trouble myself with taking either the Fighting pool or Maneuvers. On this character they'd be lipstick on a pig. Basically a melee blaster. The character has one role in my roster: to farms lower level TFs for merits and money. Plays like a dream on Synapse. Anything much higher than Manticore and there'll be trouble. Has some of her incarnates unlocked, but no role in incarnate raids. FWIW Regen MoG is one of the better tier 9s in the game with no crash. But it isn't up often enough to make any character as tough as they need to be in high level content. And it isn't available soon enough to make a difference in the levels where the character still sorta works. I have scrappers that can take an alpha; this isn't one of them. Unusually for a non-stalker melee, she's a stealther. Has no aggro aura; couldn't use it anyways.

Made this character back in May. Finally started to push her towards the finish line. Not at all satisfied with her damage; I gather Psychic Blast is not terribly popular as a primary. But if I'm going to play a squishy team support character, I want one whose powers are aimed mostly at enemies rather than teammates. I tried to focus on primary and secondary powers rather than pool powers. Character also seems to be an end hog. IME having book contacts in your list tends to interfere with running story series you actually want to do. Crimson and Maria Jenkins seem less than willing to put you on their storylines if Levantera's book is open. There is a limit of these that you can have open at a time, and Levantera's unwanted missions are sitting on one of yours.

I almost always take Fly or SJ as a travel power, although the alternative pools that give a flying or jumping power are now also on the menu. Defense oriented melees take SJ because Combat Jumping puts them that much closer to the softcap. Any character whose concept includes wings is going to fly: so it was a foregone conclusion for Maiden Heaven, La Faiseuse d'Anges, and Vanth Rasnal. I know Fly is a bit slower than other travel powers, but it allows beelining in ways the others don't. I don't really expect it to act different.

Title pretty much sums it up. Now, when you do the series of talk-tos that turn on Vanguard merits, you get shanghaied into a series of missions you probably don't want to do again. The missions are especially unfriendly to stealthists due to Rikti drones and suicidal fighting NPCs. And that Rogue Isles refinery map is one of the most annoying in the game, especially to non-fliers. I usually use three days' grace on many of them just to clear them and escape. They usually sit undone in the mission tray for a good long time as a result. Cimerora doesn't treat you that badly. You do have to talk to Marcus Valerius, but you don't have to take a single one of his timed missions.

I have both t3 Clarion and t4 Barrier on Heraclea. I do prefer Barrier for tanking Recluse and similar tasks, so I usually leave it in. But I can swap to Clarion if I foresee the need, and usually do that before starting out on Lady Gray. It maybe needs to be easier to move these things in and out situationally, to give people an incentive to craft and use more than one.

list of contacts that have endless missions

So also with Marcus Valerius and Borea. Don't know about the others. -
Touch of Fear has the biggest -tohit debuff in Dark Melee. Useful against tough foes and foes with attacks you just don't want to hit at all. That said, Group Fly and Team Teleport are pretty useless. What would be nice is a Leaping power that worked like Group Fly; would be totally worth wasting a pick on it for the lolz.

Tips for Radiation Armor/Fiery Melee/Energy Mastery
Heraclea replied to dangeraaron10's topic in Tanker
If you have Meltdown there isn't really much call for Buildup; it does more for you. I generally consider powers called 'Buildup' skippable on tankers; they are all pretty samey, don't last very long, and the interesting ones will be called something else, like Rage. You probably have a red and a yellow small inspiration somewhere. Skipped it on my fire/shield, and that one is a DPS tanker.
