it's sad to see the community become divided and turned on each other due to this rule. Griefers may want to take notice that inundating GM's with every imagined or perceived violation may not be the smartest thing you could do. The boy who cried Wolf comes to mind. (and I now have another character concept to create).

GM Jimmy has stated previously in this thread that there is a database that all GMs can access for this issue. Additionally he said they are working on a "GM Notes" for individual characters to help with situations like this.

I agree, the worst part is that most of the reporting is going to come from fellow players. This is a blow to morale. (I'm trying to think of a nice way to call them snitches but failing.) example A: below.

I feel it important to remind people to save their costumes so that you wont be starting from scratch again. If you get Generic'd loading the saved costume and making some changes is easier than spending 2 hours in the CC again.

Side note: is there a GM notes that can be made on characters that one gm has deemed safe but another may find in violation? Just to cut down on issues.

ok... 1) how will you be handling public domain mythological characters? 2) how will you be handling Public Domain comic book characters? 3) at what point do you consider a homage costume to cross the border into violation? 4) at what point do you consider names to cross into violation? Direct Names, slightly altered, none of the above? So far these are the most questions people have regarding this, but I've only read 7 pages.

this debate is all well and good. However, it is all just hot air as NONE of us are on the Homecoming team. so since this has raised some very important questions, I (for one) would like to hear them addressed by the actual people in charge of things. We can talk all we want and speculate all we want. Good hard answers is what this needs. So in the interest of transparency and community good will, could the Homecoming team chime in on this thread?

I'm just a cynic. I distrust a lot until shown otherwise. A move like this doesn't exactly help.

see that's a problem. if you change 10% of a pic, you effectively create a new pic. same can be said with a homage costume. an exact duplicate of a costume is not really possible with the CC, trust me I've tried for 6 years on some. so who decides then? what about the close, we can tell who they're modeled after but it's not the same costume stuff?

would never happen. they'd loose to much player base.

I just want to know how close are they looking? Exact names? Exact costumes? It's really hard to get an exact costume with the character creator so most of them can be considered homages. knowing the parameters would help.

See, I understand where both people are coming from. I made a farmer just to be able to afford my builds. I don't mind if others come and door sit, I only do it for SG mates though, and my main requirement is that they do not ghost the minute the "C - word" (Content, potty minds) comes up. If you are actively playing your toon and just need to get money for your builds. I have no problem farming with you, contribute or don't. makes no dif. If you are just PL-ing and don't even know how to get to other zones, how to use contacts, or become mute when asked if anyone is available to run TFs... then you bet you butt I'm not letting you in my farm. The game has rules and often Farming is just a way to make affording things a bit easier. It is not there to take the place of the game itself.

I find it funny how you can have right and both arms bionic but not the left. Could that oversight be fixed?

I do the S/M version of the outdoor comic con to fund my alts. I may not be playing the most ideally equipped AT (BS/WP Brute) but the mobs can't hurt me and I get enough to fund my toons. I understand and recognize the appeal of Farming, as well as the pitfalls. For new players that never played before, I do not recommend it until you hit the lvl 30 plateau.

we can only unlock 9 of the costumes. We need the salvage to unlock the 10th. It's a small sticking point.
