Make Giant Monster adds spawn without fixed levels
RadiantPhoenix replied to ThatGuyCDude's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
A workaround exists, but I think this change would probably be an improvement because of the convenience. The workaround is to form a league with 50s leading each team, bringing everyone else up to 49 or better. -
What I was saying later on with Barrier Reef, FFG, and Dark Servant is that because they are (uncontrollable) mobile pets that (mostly) follow you, you have no real reason to place them in a particular location. Thus, they should be placed automatically at your location with a single click or keystroke. Because powers should not require two clicks unless there is a very good reason to do so.

Sonic Resonance is a support powerset that looks cool, but feels weak to me. It resembles Force Field (FF), but FF feels like it has a little extra added onto most of its counterpart powers. Here are some changes that I think might improve the set: T1: Sonic Siphon This is a -RES power, which is good, but that's all it does. I feel like it should either: Play into the name ("Siphon") and "transfer" some of that RES to the user by adding +RES to the power. (allowing players to slot +RES sets) Play into the description ("set up a constant vibration within the body of your foe"), and do some damage-over-time on top of -RES (allowing players to slot damage sets) Help more with AVs by adding 500% -Regen to the power T2: Sonic Barrier T3: Sonic Haven These are 4 minute shields, which are strong, but that's all it does. FF's equivalents have several advantages: They add extra benefits (Tox resist, END/Recv resist) They are +DEF, so they can take LotG globals Personally, I think these should add some uncommon debuff resistances, like DDR, ToHit, or Regeneration. T5: Disruption Field This is an AoE -RES power, which is very good, but making it a toggle that targets somebody else means that it falls off whenever you go through a door. Is there some way to make it stop doing that? T6: Sonic Dispersion Almost identical to the FF equivalent, except it offers less Mez protection (-20 vs -30) and resist (2.0 vs 3.0), and falls off more quickly if somebody leaves (2.25s vs 15s) T7: Sonic Repulsion A clear parallel to the version in FF, except the FF version got buffed a bunch (no extra END per target, and has Repel in addition to KB) and this didn't. T8: Clarity This one is almost an exact copy of Clear Mind from Empathy, except it takes longer to cast. It should really take a page out of the other three variants on this power and do something else too. Maybe Psi resist, or another type of debuff resistance? T9: Liquefy This power feels like it just doesn't have a use-case: The CD is so high that you can't just throw it on regular enemy groups The debuffs (-ToHit, -DEF, -RECH) don't work on AVs because of AV resistance The damage isn't high enough to matter I think that the correct angle to pursue here is further reducing the CD to something like 30 seconds, but making it replace itself so that you can only have one copy out at a time. This makes it a nice AoE debuff that you can throw down on ordinary enemy groups to help protect the team.

Epic Armor Toggles: Minimal Fx Customization
RadiantPhoenix posted a topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Many Epic pools have Armor toggles, derived from other powersets. Many of those powers have options for minimal Fx or no Fx. I would like to have those minimal/no Fx customization options available to the versions from Epic pools. I want the option to have my characters to look more like what I picked in the costume editor, as opposed to having even more extra glowing/particle effects on them.- 1 reply

It's not just Marine and Nature that could do with streamlining some of their powers. Traps has several location-placed pets that should probably be automatically summoned at the caster's location. (Seeker Drones and Force Field Generator, both of which follow you) Dark Servant (Dark Miasma/Darkness Affinity) too.

Exactly what it says in the title: In the Incarnate Trial "The Underground", there is an AV named "Self-Repairing Extinction War Walker" Normally, it regenerates too fast to kill (+1000% regeneration, with AV resistance and purple patch), so players use a temp-power obtained within the Trial to disable this extra regeneration and kill it. However, it appears to be mathematically possible to kill it *without* the temp-power, *if* you bring enough characters with the "Traps" powerset, who can use their power "Poison Trap" to reduce its regeneration to manageable levels. This badge would be awarded to all players in the Trial if the Self-Repairing Extinction War Walker is killed without using the temp power to disable its regeneration. Math: Poison Trap: -1000% regeneration * (1 - 87% AV resistance) * (0.65 purple patch 50+3 vs 54+2) = -84.5% regeneration per Traps user. At 12 of these, the regeneration reaches normal levels, and at 13 it reaches nearly zero. Other powersets with major -Regen debuffs, such as Cold, Thermal, and Radiation, can contribute too, however they are only half as effective.

Scale up other melee weapon models for Titan Weapons
RadiantPhoenix replied to ZeeHero's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
As I understand it, the issue is that they need somebody who can do 3d modeling and animation: -
I'm not sure how it works on the back-end, but saved costume files store colors like this: Color1 255, 255, 255

The bank insists on seeing your credit report before offering a loan. The ones that didn't went under after Dr Aeon's clones took out all of their money in "loans" and then vanished, never to be seen again.

My /Nature builds are very cramped in terms of power selections. I already skip Spore Cloud, which I probably shouldn't, because even nerfed by 94% (AV resistance + Purple Patch), it's still a pretty nice debuff for iTrials and similar scenarios. As such, I am not sure if it would be correct to take even the toggle-aura version of Lifegiving Spores on an optimized build. ... I probably would take it, but that's because I value convenience a lot. (Which is also the reason I almost always take the Flight pool instead of other pool powers)

The problem with Lifegiving Spores in particular right now is that it is already so weak that I never seriously consider taking it for more than cosmetic effects. First, the numbers: Scale 0.25 heal every 4s +15% Recovery (equivalent) Endurance cost equivalent to -15% Recovery Now, the analysis: Standard content is fast-paced enough that a group of enemies is going to be almost all dead before it manages to tick more than 2-3 times (3x scale 0.25 heal), at which point you're much better off just casting Regrowth once (scale 1.5 heal) Most difficult content involves moving around a bunch too You would think that it would be good for iTrials or MSRs, but the actual amount of healing and recovery is small enough that it drowns in the sea of other heal/END sources that you should be getting. (a single Rebirth Radial from one player in the entire league provides about 10x as much sustained healing) EDIT: will be getting, because Wild Growth's +100% Regeneration is four times larger than the heals from Lifegiving Spores, and you only need to cast that once every minute-and-a-half. The only real use-case for it is if you have a very long AV fight with nobody else providing any healing or regen, and even then it's probably a tiny fraction of the size of the Tanker's own un-assisted regeneration. So, no, it does not need a nerf to become fire-and-forget, because it needed a buff anyway.

Ah, the SBB system, but with recipes instead of built enhancements? If I was going to do something like that, I think I would just start with implementing one of the ones that does have a named set, and see how it goes. Maybe one each on Red and Blue side.

Costume Pieces that are oddly single gender (a thread)

Summary: I would like to see powers like Lifegiving Spores (Nature) and Barrier Reef (Marine), turned into toggle auras like Soothing Aura (Pain) and Shadow Fall (Dark Miasma) Background: My main is a Psi/Nature Corruptor, and I think I do most kinds of PVE content: I mostly do iTrials and Hami I also do some casual missions I have done all three 4* TFs I play a Corruptor because I like: Having team buffs Dealing damage Not having to manage pets like a MM I play /Nature because most of Nature's power is in three PBAOE clickie buffs that I don't need to click very often. The Problem: I generally skip Lifegiving Spores because it is very inconvenient to use: it is stationary, so if you move then you have to deactivate it, then wait a few seconds, and then reactivate it. Fortunately, it is small enough in effect that I do not lose much by skipping it, but I would like to be able to use this power without having to go through the whole process every time we fight another group of enemies. I tried Marine Affinity, but having to juggle all of these powers was frustrating to deal with: Shifting Tides must be placed on a teammate, and will detoggle if that teammate doesn't stay close to you Barrier Reef can be killed and also sometimes expires when you are not paying attention. Fortunately, having it on your pet window means that you can tell if it is active or not. Tide Pool is stationary, so you have to re-place it when you move. It has a duration, which makes it slightly less difficult to use on the move than Lifegiving Spores, but also means that it can expire when you are not paying attention. It is also difficult to tell whether it is still going, or has expired. (Toroidal Bubble is lovely. I keep it on auto.) I played Traps once, and it was even more like that, but I guess that is part of its identity. I played Electrical Affinity, and Faraday Cage seemed manageable, so maybe having the powers drop the pseudopet on the ground at your feet instead of needing to click a location would work too. (I stopped playing Elec for other reasons) Numerical Comparison: Lifegiving Spores is a stationary toggle pseudopet that does a scale 0.25 heal and restores 1% endurance every 4 seconds in a 15ft radius Soothing Aura is a toggle aura that does a scale 0.375 heal every 4 seconds in a 15ft radius Barrier Reef is a clicky pseudopet that lasts 240 seconds and grants scale 0.7 defense and 4% absorb every 2s in a 25ft radius Shadow Fall is a toggle aura that grants scale 0.5 defense, 35ft stealth radius, scale 20 protection from Terrorize, and scale 2.0 resistance to several elements in a 40ft radius I believe both of these powers could be turned into PBAOE toggle auras without changing their buff/heal numbers Thematic Thoughts: A Lifegiving Spores toggle aura would be emitting the spores from your body, rather than planting them somewhere on the ground. A Barrier Reef toggle aura would be surrounding yourself with your barrier reef, rather than having it float around behind you. Other Thoughts: Other players have told me that the reason I experience lag when trying to activate my powers in Hami raids and MSRs is because there are too many entities around. If this is true, then I would expect this change to help with that, because pets and pseudopets are entities.

Is there a way to make my forum searches default to "AND" instead of "OR"? For example: If I search for "empathy defender", I only want to see results that include "empathy" AND "defender". I don't want to see results for Time Defenders or Empathy Controllers.

fixed Dominator - Smoke Can > accuracy reporting
RadiantPhoenix replied to Frosticus's topic in [Open Beta] Bug Reports
It looks like there's two separate things being discussed here: The OP reports that +ACC Confuse sets are not improving the accuracy of Smoke Canister's Confuse/-ToHit effect. Someone other folks think it's weird that -ToHit and Confuse are on one part of the power, and -Perception is on a different part. -
zone events New Zone Event: Runaway Monorail
RadiantPhoenix replied to RadiantPhoenix's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Don't all of these ATs get an Immobilize or a Hold from almost every Epic pool? And both from a majority? (In addition to anything from their attack powersets) Yeah, some characters are going to be able to contribute a lot more to this event, but that's also true of the Hellion Arson event in Steel Canyon, and numerous other things in the game. There's also procs to check. -
zone events New Zone Event: Runaway Monorail
RadiantPhoenix posted a topic in Suggestions & Feedback
We need more heroism that isn't just shooting people in the face. This suggestion is meant to provide that, *and* make Control ATs feel more appreciated. How this would work: The "Runaway Monorail" is a line of special critters ("Monorail cars") that moves through the zone, along the monorail tracks, at a moderate pace The goal is to Hold or Immobilize the runaway monorail cars to prevent a crash Each car grants all cars in front of it additional protection from Holds and Immobilizes, so it's probably best to start from the back When a car Immobilized or Held, it detaches from the train and stops permanently, along with all cars behind it (and eventually fades away I guess) If any train cars reach the "end point" on the tracks, they crash and explode. The event ends when all cars are either stopped or exploded There would be badges, XP/inf, and maybe some kind of special currency reward for successfully stopping cars, or the whole train. For redsiders, maybe there could be a special mission to trigger this event. (and particularly glory-hungry Vigilantes, or remorseful Rogues could start the event and then stop it themselves!) -

I absolutely love my Psi/Nature Corruptor, but you said no Psi, so... how about Ice/Nature? Rains are good with Scourge, and Ice Blast has TWO of them Hold-stacking with Entangling Aura and Freeze Ray Great survivability with Regrowth, Wild Growth, and Wild Bastion Your main weakness will be your lack of mez protection, so bring break-frees or Clarion. Alternatively, if you like a clickier playstyle: Elec/Elec: Sap your enemies so they can't attack back as much Faraday Cage gives you self-mez-protection Bounce your circuit powers back to yourself with the Elec Affinity pet Has absorb shields AND heals AND resistance, like Nature IIRC, Elec Blast keeps your Circuits charged for maximum bounces, but I'm not sure that matters solo... Electric Affinity is the powerset I would love to see on my team, but never want to play because it's too clicky for me.

If there's new Epic pools being added, one of them should have whip attacks. Also, if they're mirrors of the Patron pools, there should be one that's based on Fire (possibly the whip one), and one that's based on Psi, kinda like how Mako has Cold, Ghost Widow has Negative, and Scirocco has Electric. Maybe also a toxic/bio/nature one, or a light-based one?
