  1. By far the top controller combo for absolute control; hard, soft, area denial, knockdown, damage,  debuffs, buffs....

Not only does it lock down absurd area, it neuters AVs.

Earth/storm/stone is the gold standard for abusing control.

  2. So, we've as gleaned that Inherents are not slottable, Hide doesn't always need to be on, and shouldn't. So, this is why Hide is fine as is,

    1. It's slottable

    2. You don't always want it on

    3. If it were made auto, it would lose some of its stats

@Uunsorry, my question about the inherent was a sarcastic 😝, didn't mean for anyone to actually answer 😱

To clarify - pretty sure you're asking why Hide isn't an inherent power (like Rest or Sprint), but don't want it to be an Auto power (like Health or Stamina).

I'm not against it - Dominators have Domination as an inherent, after all. It's just part of the class mechanics.  I'm not sure what would replace Hide in the Stalker secondaries though, and I'm concerned that the chance could further blur the distinction between Stalkers and Scrappers.

    Are iherents slottable?

As one of the campers, I'd like to give my perspective even if the thread is a little old now. I know that some must feel some since of unfairness that some people are sometimes AFK and getting rewards. I hope if you feel hurt by our presence that you can understand that what seems like deviant and game-breaking behavior is a temporary way to stay in the game earning some rewards while chatting and doing other things in RL. I've known people "AFK" farming in AE missions doing much the same thing, chatting, walking away from the game, going to sleep and coming back the next day.

The current stage in our lives right now is that we don't have a lot of free time to actively play. That won't last forever. However, we can keep the game up in the background and pop in when we want to procrastinate or have some free time. We also do still actively play, although typically on different schedules.

As far as I can tell, we are not violating the code of conduct or terms of service for the game. If a GM comes and says it's unacceptable behavior, we would stop. For example, we use no scripts or programs to automate gameplay. Yes, we can stay logged in the game for extended periods of time, but we have people doing that in Ouro, SG bases, AE missions, and other places as well.

And when we are around and in Echo:DA, we do often announce in LFG chat (or someone else that's in zone does) to give people a heads-up.  If people are asking for invites, we (and others that are "AFK") usually invite them to a team.  We don't usually blind invite, but if someone posted in /b, /l, etc for a team and is unteamed in search window results, we'll invite them. We recognize that there will be some people that are specifically looking for the badge. We're badgers as well and if we're around we'll invite to a team to help ensure you get sufficient credit.

We've played the game on live since Beta and are happy to be back again. Most of our characters were made back in 2019 and usually vet level 100+. They didn't get that way from AFK farming Adamastor. They've been around over 4 years. Our characters have over 1500 badges. We've played this game plenty and helped with donations, trials, task forces, badges, missions, gifting money and rewards, and general information.

Yes, we can get rewards for doing nothing in Echo:DA (or we can be more active when we want to help turn the tide, speed up the take-down, or take out a Kronos or Zombie invasion).  When someone else (since it's usually not us) spawns Adamastor, our MMs will attack. Basically, that means in the best case scenario about 6 merits per 60+ minutes. We can definitely earn more merit rewards and faster when we're active (Hami raids, TinPex, WSTs, Monster Hunts, etc) and we do.

As some have noticed, when they tried to push us off ledges or do some other similar behavior, we jumped back on the platforms.  There's a reason, we aren't actually always AFK. Sure, maybe at 3am we might be. Other times, however, we're chatting or doing something else, responding to people in Help or General chat, etc.

I hope this gives you a little perspective even if you don't agree with what we're doing. Some kindness, acceptance, and tolerance can go a long way, though. We're all real people in real life, enjoying a game that we love in different ways at different times.

Yeah, it's primarily thematic - also, the other player is newer and has less interest in building than in playing, so the more similar we are in how we do things the better.

Also, like I said, with all the damage flying around from a couple Kins, it seems like we'd get a lot more value from the mitigation provided by Shockwave and Siren's Song. I haven't played these builds up to that level though, which is why I posted on here for the input. Is that a bad take?

I know Fire is a damage king - I have a Fire/Atomic Blaster, and when it comes to AoE, I rely on spamming a 5-second Fireball whenever I'm not popping Inferno and that's more than enough. At least all of Sonic's AoE's have a sub-2 second activation time.

Based on this, you should just try it because,

    1. Your friend is new, likely you will leave difficulty low, everything should fun and easy

    2. Your friend is new, every set will be fun

    3. Your friend is new ,they may want to try many things

    4. The duo you suggested will be safe and put out solid damage

It sounds like you should just try the most fun theme and combo you two would like, because if they love playing, that's all that matters. A sonic/kin duo can play most content just fine.

If you're sure corrupters are the most fun theme for them, go for it.

  6. All depends on what extreme you want to push it to. If you find it fun, go for it, try it out to lvl 32ish, even without fulcrum you can see the potential.

If you plan on maximum, you'll be better off with a different primary, sonic base numbers vs other sets are lackluster, even considering -res.

Is there a thematic reason you want duplicate? If one was a kin/xx defender that would be a improvement in overall support figures.

If my build calls for higher level than me set IOs? I often just leave those slots empty until I reach the minimum level to start slotting them. The exception being if my build calls for level 50 required IOs like Hecatombs. Those I will slot with a generic IO to keep the power competitive against high level mobs.

You're most definitely right about the leveling progression though. Between the constant patrol xp and the heavy xp boost the game got when it went private pirate server so that those that knew about and were granted access to the game could very quickly recreate their lost level 50 incarnate characters, there isn't much call for the low level sets unless a player is looking for the set bonuses. And that is even before you get into the XP Boosters available from P2W. The current iteration of the game is set up to get you past all the content and to level 50 as quickly as they can without just cutting out the content. Which is why blue side and red side characters that want to do content at level have to watch their progression and mind the Turn Off XP option, let alone the poor gold siders that had that problem even before the game had its leveling shifted to high gear.

    So, um, Rurda...

How do you feel about... Patrol XP

    ahahah. 👍

The proposed changes don't add any lower-level grind. They present an alternate option to SOs at lower levels and make lower-level IOs more appealing. The only real way I could see there being "grind" here is having the inf to afford the lower level sets, but again... optional.

If low level iO sets were buffed, it would make all my builds even more powerful at all levels, as I said I can +3 at lvl 9, why do I need more?

Right now I can and do slot sets starting at  level 10, and all buffing them does is make all my builds even more potent.

As I said, right now I slot ATO, Winter, low sets and SO. If you buff low sets I still slot ATO, Winter, low sets and SO, the only change is you just gave me a free buff.

    No vote.

I'm going to repeat a part of my post because you seemed to miss it. At these levels, people can ALREADY use powerful sets like ATOs, Winters, PVPs, and Overwhelming Force. These sets all can be slotted at level 10, while there are some so-called "early" sets that can't even be slotted until 15-20 while being drastically weaker in power than those aforementioned 10-50 sets.

The only way that buffing currently useless sets would make the early game easier is if they somewhere were made to be more powerful than those sets like ATOs. That's a very high bar to clear and thus very unlikely. I just can't see stuff like Bonesnap or Salvo truly posing a threat to stuff to the 10-50 sets.

    Aw, thanks.

I'll repeat one of my posts, as you may have missed that.

The current state, with those sets you mentioned (see this post was targeted at that, I do read), is already a cakewalk and I can +3 by level 9. Buffing more sets is completely unwarranted.

    Helping is fun 😁
