The most particularly nastiest badges to get are the ones that rely on a team, or especially an entire league, to do something to earn it.  While yes, the traditional TF "master of" badges can be tricky... PVP badges that require many people can also be difficult because people rarely set them up.

But I think some of the iTrial badges are the most difficult as it takes an entire league to be coordinated and on their game.  There are strategies for all of them, but there is one in particular that is extremely difficult and it is really like winning the lottery if you get it:

    • Dreamwalker / Dreamkiller - Defeat all of Malaise's possible nightmares at least once during the Minds of Mayhem Trial.

There are 16 of the buggars and you only get 3 per trial.  Duplicates don't count and there is no guarantee you'll get one that you haven't already defeated in a previous trial.  You can do 100 attempts still may not get the nightmares you need for the badge.  Again, truly like winning the lottery with this one.

When I run the nightmare farms, I take people through 10 rounds of that first mission.  So that is 30 GM's total with needing 16 for the badge.  Most get to walk away happy but sometimes even with 10 rounds 1 GM just doesn't want to spawn.

It doesn't just have to be farms or +4 ITFs... All you need is one other person or even easier, an alt account and invite them.  So if you're just hanging out working on something in game (costume, building an AE arc/mission, crafting, marketing, etc) or just hanging out in Pocket D dancing with DJ Zero - invite an alt account and start building up time.  🙂

You can also invite your alt account, set an ouro mission so you don't auto-log, then walk away and go eat dinner, watch TV, go to bed, wake up the next morning with your badges.  😄

Uhm what you describe does not sound like the Leader badge, a.k.a. money badge #6. The money badges are obtained by gaining influence from NON AE missions, non AE farms, TF's.

What you describe sounds like the mentoring badges. Those are easy as long as you aren't doing AE content

Meh.  Having done that successfully 70 or 80 times, it doesn't impress me.

I actually think Triple Threat, in the same iTrial, is harder.  That one is for taking out Shadowhunter, Nega Pendragon and Chimera within 5 seconds of each other.

Not to mention the classic bug of Tyrant sometimes NOT shrinking down to normal size and just drops to the ground thus bugging the trial and denying all badges.

I think they should tweak it so that when he hits zero health he cannot take any more damage, loses all his power and shrinks down to normal size and just keels over, or he keels over and then shrinks down  to normal size and is unconscious.  Either way it eliminates the need to smash de-powered tyrant.

  4. Well season 2 is coming so I've been rewatching Season 1 and reading wiki sites.  Should be a fun season.

As to Omni-Man and Invincible, in game terms I think I would classify them as:

Omni-Man: Willpower, super strength Tank      Omni can be injured but it takes a lot to do so and he regenerates over time.  He's also an adult Viltrumite in the fullness of his powers, unlike his son who just got them.   Since he can be injured and bleed, sometimes profusely, I cant see him as an Invul tank

Invincible:  Willpower, super strength, but he's more of a scrapper at the moment, imo; even though SS isn't available for scrappers at this time.

He is less durable then his father at this time, but he is young and just got his powers.  The more he ages, the more he will toughen up.  His lack of durability definitely does not classify him as an Invul. character, though he can heal up like his father.  Also his fears and doubts do blunt his effectiveness, so yes Willpower.     Example of his being less durable then his father: The repeated attacks of the Flaxan invaders.  Omni-Man withstood their upgraded weapons with no problem, Invincible was having problems.  Omni then took the fight to their home dimension and....."explained" things to them.   Also the final episode of S1 shows the power difference between them is considerable.

The old new one (with the shining stars) was bugged, the new old one (stop the construction) works - also, I have seen event notifications of - i think it's "strange Clockwork activity in KR" so...

The event message is Unusual Clockwork activity in Kings Row

but here is what I have observed last night and tonight:  several hours of other events,  no clockwork event.   I go to KR and patrol the zone, no signs of any Paladins so I check the construction sites and last night and tonight I have found some of the non-level clockwork that build the paladin lingering at the site.

I do not know if they were left overs from the Paladin being built, or the construction being stopped.  But it does seem that the respawn timer won't reset the event unless all those clockwork are defeated.

Same now as when you beat Jack or Eochai separately in Croatoa. take down all their spawn as well.

  7. I would also like to add Paladin in Kings Row to this idea.

Last night I noticed that for several hours,  jack/eochai would spawn, troll rave would spawn, burning building would spawn, lusca would spawn, but no Clockwork events in KR.

So I did a sweep through the zone, no signs of any Paladin's stomping around, but I found one left over clock work from a previous event just sitting at the construction area.  I destroyed it, thus hopefully restarting the clock on the KR clock event.

But adding Paladin to the suggestion in my above post seems like a good idea.

Also perhaps upon defeat any critters that spawned with the giant despawn with it?

  8. There are times when I am playing late and I have alts that like to hunt the giants. During these sessions I see many alerts for the Croatoa War and also the new alerts for Eochai and Jack.

I see several more alerts for Ghost of Scrapyard and even the Arachnos Flyer,  but the 3 giants that sometimes don't appear to be spawning until maybe 8 hours after their last spawn is Jurassik, Babbage and Kraken.   I realize that it is a random timer, but sometimes I think the timer isn't running right, or maybe it is. Who knows?

But the suggestion for Jurassik, Babbage and Kraken is to make them like Deathsurge, Ghost of Scrapyard, and Caleb, where they can be invoked by defeating x-amount of specific targets.

Deathsurge appears after 100 gremlins, Caleb after 100 Nerva ghosts before sundown, Ghost of Scrapyard after beating up the dockworkers.

So for Jurassik in Crey's Folly: Defeat 100 Dev Earth to spawn him

For Babbage in Boomtown: 100 clockwork defeated to spawn him

For Kraken: defeat 100 hydra spawn him

"Force field barrier" makes sense from the technical standpoint, but story-wise, why would they be breaking out if it is only to a force field?  Wouldn't they try for a direction where there was not a force field?  Would you think it might work if we had an invisible barrier, but delineated it somehow on the ground, like say, an additional perimeter of cop cars and/or barricades (presumably put up in haste by the answering officers),  or possibly even some sort of line on the ground, clear to the player, but still made to look a bit like part of the setting?

Contrary to what I just said, I could see emergency, temporary force field barriers erected,  Perhaps something energy system emanating from a police vehicle that looks a bit like the Active Denial System (below).  That way, you get the story idea that it is temporary, and the villains are fighting towards the vehicles to defeat the system, all while the technical barrier does its job.

    sci_fi_weapons_3a.jpg

The cops activate the barrier that is holding in the prisoners where they have spawned.  As the cops get defeated and their vehicles destroyed then the field drops. However the prisoners should be wiped out before that happens,  the Freakshow would tear up the cops.

  10. Comparing the Brickstown and St. martial events.

First part of each is outside,  targets are stationary. Prisoners sometimes run off and don't return, longbow remains where they are.

Second part: St Martial is indoors,  Brickstown is outside with Freakshow swarming the scene, some times the Freakshow tend to disappear when they run off.

Third part: both are outside and targets remain in the area.

So it feels like part of the problem is the running away of targets and that the second wave of Brickstown is outside.

So ideas that i thought of are:

    1. Once the event is active, whether any players are present or not, an auto reset timer of say 5 to 10 minutes is active so that no matter what the event resets. Similar to Neutropolis event as I recall

    2. Force field barriers are active to contain the Prisoners and Freakshow to the event area

    3. Rebuild the event so that after the first wave,  players must enter the prison to contain the rioters.  Upon entry there are Freakshow there looking to pillage and plunder and recruit prisoners, defeat them and any prisoners in the area, then the third wave spawns it is also inside and has the super powered prisoner bosses and their guards.    Upon completion you are warped back outside just like after the Neutropolis event ends.

So basically with #3 you defeat the escapees outside and thus push the riot back into the prison and then work to contain the riot and shut it down.

  11. Just sent an alt to run the event and when I got there the kill counter showed 19 of 20 prisoners apprehended, but all the prisoners were available to attack and apprehend.

Then the Freakshow spawned but the counter said 16 of 18, yet all 18 were there to be defeated.

Then came the super powered prisoner wave and the counter said 2 of 3 defeated at the start but had to defeat all three.

Then the timer started but it shows  Next Event Starts in: 54:32:50 and appears to be counting upwards873990383_prisonertimer.jpg.b1c70ffc68e0636cef41b79cbdfb4253.jpg

Hi Voltor, just for my clarification, so the Loop Badge works similiar to the badge we get when running any of the four villlian arcs such as Black Scorpion to unlock the Patron powers? Just join a team doing the last mission of the fifth run through and all members get the badge?

    Thanks 🙂

Well if you are doing the arc via Ouro, then all team members have to be on the team at the start.

  15. NOBLE INTENTIONS ARC

    Badge Guide:

Mission 1: whether you fight to Tunnel Rat or stealth to her, you are fighting your way out.
Any enemies that she sees she will attack. The good news is that if her health drops to zero it quickly
moves back up so she cannot die. She also does nice damage. The bad news is that Teleport and ATT will
    not affect her.

Mission 2:  only the leader can speak to the contact. Select whatever dialog you decide.
Skip the optional leaders no matter what dialog you choose.
Talk to the first two contacts, rescue and talk to the third, then talk to the fourth then exit.

Mission 3: Investigate the PNCB HQ
go to [-100.0 0.0 907.7] which is due west of the entrance. Clear the mobs there and the way point should
appear.  Enter building, go into side room and defeat some goons to get a clue and activate a glowie in that room.
Hidden door is now available, enter it. Rescue the lazy scientist, then turn off stealth so they follow you
to unlock the blast door.  Then enter the room and click the computer a few times until it explodes.

Now you are attacked by Ravenstorm and Dr. Todd for a moment then you can then talk to them.

YOUR CHOICE OF DIALOG HERE IS WHAT SETS THE BADGE FOR THE STORY!

So if you chose Rogue dialog in mission 2, you could choose HERO and the mission sets to the HERO version
of the arc and vice versa.

When you select Rogue they become your enemies and you must defeat them. Take down Dr. Todd first as
she is kinetic support to Ravenstorm, and ice damage to you.

If you selected Hero they will meet up with you on the next level of the map to assist you after a rather
funny cutscene and will assist you again in the final mission. After this cutscene take down an
overamped super soldier then locate the exit.

If you selected Rogue head back outside and clear 3 groups of guards from the submarine and leave.

Mission 4: (HERO) Bring data to John
click him a couple of times to set next mission then click his truck to proceed

Mission 5: (HERO) Riots in Talos!
free the captive then head outside.
Disregard the 5 optional riot leaders
Defeat Titus and his guards [-1085.8 223.5 5925.5] the furthest red dot on the map.
Get into the building and rescue Alexander and take him to the door to the roof.
He will fight any enemies that he sees and cannot be teleported.

Mission 6: (HERO) Save the Election
Smash the Goliath War Walker, then 4 Archons, just them not their guards.
First one is a soldier, the next a galaxy, the next a vampyr, the last is a shield bearer
    Now enter the base.
    Cutscene
Defeat Arvin's Supersoldier with assist from Dr. Todd and Ravenstorm
    Talk to Arvin
Wait for cutscene which will award POLLSTER badge and merits

Mission 4 (ROGUE): Burgle the Family Money Ship

There are 4 glowies at random positions.  If you get them all without being seen, mission ends.
If not you have to defeat some ambushes and a boss.  Suggest that if you do not have any stealth
powers to go to your base and see if you can craft some invisibility from your empowerment
station, or else check your temp powers, if you patrolled Siren's Call you should have the
    Combat Invisibility power.

WARNING: the last glowie will NOT appear as a dot on the map.
Turn up your game volume and listen for them.

ALTERNATE STRATEGY:  let yourself be spotted by a patrol. Then plant your feet and let the ambushes and the boss come to you. Defeat them and the boss and the mission ends even if you didn't get all 4 glowies.

    Mission 5: (ROGUE) Loot the Warrior's Stash-house
Grab the 4 glowing chests in the last room. Disregard all enemies and ambushes.

Mission 6: (ROGUE) Visit your local Bookie
go St Martial and talk to the contact. You cannot mission transport to them.
However they are near the base portal, so after talking to the Miller, call
your mission contact and set the mission which is in Independence port and use
your ouro crystal in base to warp to him.

NEW INFO: If you have NOT completed story arc "Gone in a Flash" from Bobby Curtin (Level 25-29, Arc 26.02) then The Miller won't be your contact, it will instead be B4nKbUsTah of the Freakshow

Mission 7: (ROGUE) Deliver Data to John
click him a couple of times to set the next mission

Mission 8: (ROGUE) Riots in Talos!
free the captive then head outside.

Mission 9: (ROGUE) Steal the Election
Smash the Goliath War Walker, then 4 Archons, just them not their guards.
First one is a soldier, the next a galaxy, the next a vampyr, the last is a shield bearer
    Now enter the base.
    Cutscene
    Defeat Arvin's Supersoldier
    Talk to Arvin
Wait for cutscene which will award  UNDERDOG badge and merits

BONUS BADGES: Rogue and Hero alignment points awarded should give badges for completing
    Hero or Rogue alignment mission

Mission Leader is the one that must talk to all contacts in this arc

  16. LOOP HERO Badge Guide

Get mission from Ouro Crystal in your SG base
    SG base teleporter to Brickstown
Go into the Train for the first mission
Get all 4 glowies then run to the exit. 3 glowies are always in the same spot, the 4th is random

If you are teamed with others leave some at the door with ATT or teleport.

You do NOT need to clear the map of enemies

Mission 2: Street sweep 10 Freakshow, MUST be in Brickstown
On subsequent runs, before you get this mission select the dialog that allows you to skip M1dway.
This will  save you some time.

    Mission 3: save the Hacker

stealth to end of map, defeat Guards, knock hacker senseless, search them for info

WARNING: only the mission leader can speak to the hacker.

    Mission 4: defeat Freakshow boss
Dialog with Longbow at the start:
    1. "I'm here for the Freakshow"
    2. "Whatever you heard about me is wrong"
    3. "I'm telling the truth"
    4. "Explain mission"
Door is now unlocked without fighting the longbow
Stealth/speed to end of map, defeat Ms Thystle, click through dialog until exit button appears

There is a Super Stunner Freakshow boss, but he can be skipped at this time. Go straight to Ms Thystle.

WARNING: Longbow and Ms. Thystle will only talk to the Mission leader

Mission 5: Talk to M1dway in Striga (this can be skipped in subsequent runs)

This mission is a talk mission so Mission Transporter/Team Transporter will do you no good.

    Mission 6: Recover the Mutant

WARNING: Frostfire, Mender Roebuck and Marcus will only talk to the mission leader

Talk to Frostfire, and select the following dialog in this order
    1. He's a danger to everyone
    2. His father?!
    3. The Doctor is horrible, yes
    4. You're right. I can't force him to go home. He's free to go.

This ends the mission and you have chosen the option to release him. Check your souvenir list.

On all subsequent runs choose the dialog in this order:
    1. He's a danger to everyone
    2. His father?!
    3. The Doctor is horrible, yes
    4. maybe I can convince him. We can bring Dr. Stribbling to justice together.

Then you can go inside and talk to Marcus. Just choose the options to fight him, but be warned that Frostfire
will join in the fight against you, unless you chose different dialog options to fight Frostfire outside first.

When Marcus is defeated click on him to select mission outcomes:

    Let him go
    Arrest him
    Return him
    Finish him off

The story arc must be run to get each outcome. Check your souvenir tab and when you see all 4 souvenirs
then run the arc a 5th and final time. When you enter the final mission, Mender Roebuck will be there
instead of Frostfire. Choose this dialog
    1. What are you doing here
    2. pick any of the next options
    3. I'll do what I believe is best, you have no say in it.

Enter the door and talk to Marcus

    1. Before?
    2. I wanted to stop your father
    3. There's still a way
    4. Maybe we can use that against him
    5. We trick him. Trap him. he doesn't know about all of this

Badge mission: Take down Dr. Stribbling

Defeat: fallen from Grace, Blast Furnace, Flambeaux, Grym

Open door and select the dialog:

    1. Is that your father
    2. Fixed?
    3. Can you make things right?
    4. I understand, I hope you can do it
    5. Goodbye, Marcus

    Loop Hero badge awards!

Note: the badge will not reward until you go through all the dialog options which also ends the mission.

The dialog options listed above are the most straight forward  options I have found to get through the missions as fast as possible.

Depending on your AT and power sets, it should take you about 8 to 15 minutes per run.

I use SG base to run this as the Brickstown base portal is next to the train, after the train mission the Freakshow in the bridge area next to the train should mostly con grey for quick defeats.

    BONUS BADGE OPPORTUNITIES:

Defeating Marcus will award the Judge and Jury badge if you do not have it. *

Get a hero alignment point and you and the rest of the team gain the Ear to the Street badge *

Get a vigilante alignment point and you and the rest of the team gain the Street Wise badge *

Get a villain alignment point and you and the rest of the team gain the Inquisitor badge *

    * = unless of course you already had the badge.

LOOP HERO BADGE: awards to all on team, even if they have not yet run the arc.  However, those alts will need to run the arc for all souvenirs  to get the badge mission to offer to others.
