Well speaking on that topic, it's a fair bit of obvious that a large percentage of IOs were designed as crap just for that reason.

Do I recall correctly that at inception, they thought players would be slowly slotting then later replacing IOs as they leveled?  Like "right now I'm only level 12 so I can slot this mostly lousy four piece armor set, but once I'm 27 I can start slotting a full six piece set of this armor set!" or something?  That alone would ensure a certain percentage of sets are junk.

  2. To the question: maybe?  Seems that, as with Live, I managed to pick the server with the lowest population, which is nearly dead at the hours I tend to play, which is overnight.  Yay me!  Anyone need a duo or someone for a team on Indomitable, let me know!

I figure it's school, the other games, and the crush of OMG the game is back! being over now.  I don't think we're sudden;y going to reduce down to bare bones population anytime soon.  But we might have to switch servers or something, or that might just be me.

  3. Can anyone tell me what the Leviathan Mastery powers list looks like for Sentinels?  I'm hoping to make a toon that has Bile Spray, School Of Sharks and Spirit Shark Jaws, but of course the Titan Network page for LM doesn't cover Sentinels.

Which Badge?  I can't find any mention of it in the Badge spreadsheet or ParagonWiki, but that just might be my weak Search-Fu.

I'm hoping Redlynne was joking, because otherwise I'm going to be wasting a lot of time in there...

Targetting is important to me, and Tab isn't really a great solution by itself. I recommend that you bind a key to Target Nearest Enemy. I use might 3rd mouse button. It's natively bound to Ctrl-Tab but that's too clunky for me, I hit the windows key way to much.

If you prefer, you can create a button in your power tray for third by typing the following in, just leave out the === I'm putting in it on either side:

    ===/macro TN "target_enemy_near"===

Do that and a little grey button appears in your tray with the letters TN on it (as there's not a lot of space for a long name).  Click on that and there's the foe closest to you.  A lot of players love keybinds, but I hate having to move hands hand off the WASD keys or the mouse and then move them back, so I favor the button.  This may be a bad habit, but it's how I pay.

I noticed I was only getting 1XP per kill yesterday from some of the ToT spawns.

I've no idea if it's true, but someone I was ToTing with said it depended on what your difficulty level was set at.  They said it should be at +4/+8 or something.  I changed it the couple of times I ToTed and didn't see so much of that, but, well, it's a pretty chaotic scene, so who knows?

Of course if they look closer they would notice all your emails are about Plasma Shields and Fire Swords... If they still think it's an email, then I want to work where you work 🙂

I am FAR less interested in any kind of "optimize my build for be because I'm too lazy to think for myself" automation you might be able to build into the planner.

However, being able to tell when you're running afoul of the Rule Of Five for set bonuses and being able to compute final enhancement values accounting for Enhancement Dysfunction (ED) is absolutely critical.

As I often don't spend too much time on builds myself (I'm a dirty forum-build stealer!), I won't mind some "hints" feature, but god yes, please let it flag Rule Of Five violations.  Not long ago I grabbed a build from the old forums only to realize the guy who'd posted it had forgotten about the ROF.  I was easily able to fix it, but.

  10. Dividing up for banners isn't a bad idea, it would make it go quicker, but I just successfully did one where we ended up traveling to two of them after taking down the first other two (if that makes sense).

That thing about "being within the circle" appears to be complete nonsense though.

Lately, I've begun to realize that my pursuit of ALL day job badges for all of my characters is getting increasingly difficult.  Mainly, for my lower level characters who have to venture into zones that are so far above their current level, that getting spotted, and taking even one attack is fatal.  The ones that have fly have it a little easier.  The Super Jump crowd, less so.  Then there is the fact that some zones are difficult, or impossible to even get into, before a toon is above a certain level.

I am going for it in most cases, but it has not been without it's casualties along the way, and I know that some of them will have to advance a few more levels before they can acquire certain badges.  But, the challenge is making the pursuit all the more rewarding when I hear that "ding" of a Day Job badge, in a place where this toon has no business being at this stage in their career.

Depending on time of day, I bet if you asked, some helpful 50 would team with you to make your travel there (and later out) easy.  I know I would anyway.

    No.

It's been stated in several other threads that the Cryptic devs had to invoke several awful kludges just to get the Arachnos uniform slot working at all, and nearly broke the rest of the system doing it.  That entire section of code is basically a closet full of caltrops, bar-bells, and springs under tension.  DO NOT OPEN.

I did not know that.  Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead anyway!!

    OK, maybe not...

Also . . . I was starting to get anxious about all the stuff I've been hearing about being added to coxg.  When I heard the titles of various things added, I thought:  "Oh geez!  I want that, but I don't want to have to play on a server without GMs."   And then I read that post linked to by Bossk, and I realized:  "WHOA!  That's . . . okay, it has some nice ideas, but . . . that number of simultaneous changes . . . geez.  Mercs could definitely use a little love, but that was a bit overkill."

Yeah, I kind of feel they're charging ahead willy-nilly without maybe thinking things through too well.  Guess we'll see!

In Irish dialect it's pronounced phonetically like "ul-chə" <-I hope that comes across as a schwa. Two syllables, the first with a soft ul sound as in "ulster". And the second half a harsh ch sound conjoined with a schwa, like you're clearing a throat. Not sure there is a comparable sounding word in English.

I think I understand now, cool, thanks!

So my understanding is that it'll buff +ToHit for everyone on your Team/League who is within 60ft of your PC, and because of that the proc chances for Gaussian's will rise above the (mere) Team 1-8 chances to proc every 10 seconds.

This sounds too good to be true.  This will be awesome for MSRs if I just sit my Corr in the middle of the bowl and blast away.  I dunno how it's done on other servers, but the one I play on everybody collects and chills until the raid begins in a spot near two ruined tanks in the middle of nowhere before we take off to start taking down pylons, so that'd be a great chance to check it as the league is forming.  Sadly I won't be able to do so until the next time I can be present at the next MSR on my server, which is likely to be days from now.

Unrelated question - So the build looks awesome once you hit 50 and can slot the Hamis and so on, but what about until then (or if I exemp down)?  It'd be great to have access to this Tactics Madness at lower levels rather than taking it "right at the end" at 47.  I don't know Time or even DP all that well, so do you have any suggestions for something I could put off at lower levels to make room for them earlier?  I was thinking about switching places with Temporal Selection for Assault (as it's only slotted once in the finished build) at level 41 and then Suppressive Fire for Tactics at 47 as it's only slotted with a single Hami.  If I were to do so, would I be gimping my toon if I put off taking them until later, or are those two powers "ones you want the second they become available"?
