  1. This go-round's been interesting for me, I haven't been going as alt nuts like I did before close, I think I only have ten alts right now, and only say three I'm really enjoying playing.  Oddly enough too this time I seem to be melee adverse (my current main is a Beam/Rad Corr).  Back in the day my main was a stalker, but now I currently have a scrapper I haven't touched in almost 2 weeks, and a tank that's pretty to look at but playing him feels like pulling teeth (probably because he's Titan Weapon and still low level).  I also can't seem to get into MMs much as I once did.  I should probably make a Bots/Time and cure myself of that right quick.

But I have also found that no matter the tooth-pulling sensation, once I log in and get into a team with the toon, we roll and I enjoy the hell out of it, no matter which one I'm on, so I'm sure this shall pass soon enough.

  2. May I present Tarquin Wilde, my Kin Melee/Nin Stalker!

He's another awesome character to review MA missions in character with, I cant wait to get him back up to the mid-game :D

Ha!  I remember him from before shut-down!  I dunno why but that bit about gingham has stuck in my head all this time.

  3. Sentinel primary sets don't have the same abilities, or stats on shared abilities (such as changed recharge time, etc), as Blaster sets. That's why I'm asking here on the Sentinel board, to see if anyone has some input on the Sentinel version.

Hence my advice to keep in mind the differences.

  4. Unless I miss my guess, Psychic is one of the original power-sets from the beginning of the game.  Vets often gravitate to the newer sets they haven't already tried once (twice, three times...), which results in not seeing a lot of new threads about them.  Your best bet might be to get to the old forums via Waybackmachine and read up on some guides in the blaster section, and keep in mind how Sentinels work to evaluate the info there.

  5. Encouraging PvE'ers to go into PvP zones is a bad idea.

Well, just make it another place where there's missions and XP, but make sure there's NO extra badges, temp powers, accolades, or other things that you can't get in regular PvE. Then PvErs like myself would only have motivation to experience new content, without feeling "forced" to go into a PvP zone for "kewl loot". Problem solved.

PvE'ers still resent being pushed towards PvP zones, no matter how gently. And if they do go there, they inevitably get ganked instantly, and then bitch for years.

That would be me, I went into one once, got ganked (hard, too), hated it.  I took comfort though from the fact that before I was able to get out, the regulars were sitting around complaining in broadcast that no one ever came into the PVP zones.

  6. I seem to recall from back in the day that sometimes removing the group and then re-adding groups would fix oddball wonky errors such as this.  I have no idea if that's still true, so far I just haven't found the urge to tinker with the broken AE system rather than scrapper-locking with whatever toon I'm running.

  7. My name-sake stalker kept his brawl all the way to 50, but just out of stubbornness.  I can't recall how I had it slotted, but it probably had at least three.

Regarding your Defender there Jack, I don't have Mids here to check, can you tell us what it worked out like?

  8. Erotica1 was the name of the player, I remembered it.

That's a great story, played out well.  You gave her reasons to take you for a rube and she took the bait.  Then never spoiled the con which kept her mad about it, rtaher than dismissing the amount as tiny.

  9.

I think that polemic, that the most recipes are generated by players playing at level 50, was kind of skewed at the start here on Homecoming, because everyone was playing low levels to begin with.  I noticed that early on, something like a Steadfast Protection IO that you'd expect to be in short supply actually wasn't.  That's changing week by week as more people get to level 50.  The longer Homecoming is around, the more level 50 recipes you'll see on the market, and the fewer lower level recipes (my prediction anyway).

I seem to recall the mods seeded the market with stuff in the beginning too, so that should be factored in as well.

  10. Folks, this is not my character but I thought it was so great I HAD to post it here...I got the creator's permission to do so!

I can recall seeing a genie or two back before closing as well.  I think one of them dropped the magic pattern down the side of his pants as well.

That said - whoa!  I didn't know we had pointy-curly toed boots available!

  11. I dunno how the sets would play together, but I have to admit I like the pairing thematically.

Please don't talk about this one anymore, lest I create another alt.

  12. As a filthy casual, it's that I can just hop on and play.  I don't have to worry about my build and plug hours into working on it, I don't have to play like a twitch gamer, and I don't face dying every damn five seconds.

I also like the customization, basically designing your own action figure and then getting to play with it.

  13. Proc IOs now have their specific chance to proc adjusted depending on the cooldown of the power, so that they will average out to one proc per so-and-so period of time regardless of how you use it. They no longer hugely benefit quickly recharging attacks or rain-style powers. For better and for worse.

isi t worthless to put these in caltrops now?

From what I was skimming on the wiki, it seems so, if that change has made it over to Homecoming's live.  Which is a crying shame for caltrops enthusiasts such as myself.
