  1. This may be controversial, but as I have heard on this forum, Stalkers that don't take placate aren't playing their AT right... now, looking at the numbers, there are some sets (Street Justice) with placate at less than 45%. Is their a dichotomy within the community between those that think it is essential and those that think it is the most skippable power in many sets? Or is there a spectrum?
  2. With Sentinels, because of the Damage/Defense mechanic of the T1/T2 with the inherent, it is likely that Dual Pistols may be preferred by the more defense-oriented crowd, whereas Assault Rifle may tend towards players that prefer offensive tact. In such a case, the skipping of the juicy T2 may be to prevent defensive opportunity from triggering. As for Life Drain, it is at the thematic core of the set moreso than UT or DO, as such it makes sense that people would take it. Finally, Sentinel is a new AT, so there may be a great many players learning it by transferring half their builds from Blasters, Corruptors, or Defenders. Also, Stunning Shot is the best single target attack in Archery, and one of the highest DpAT attacks that Sentinels have access to, but its version in Blaster, for example, is kinda less than wonderful.
  3. Just a reminder, these are measures of popularity, not efficacy.
  4. Five of the ten least popular powers are confront (1, Widow Training 4.18%; 3, Scrapper War Mace 9.23%;5, Scrapper Rad 9.62%; 6, Scrapper Titan 9.64%; 9, Scrapper Elec 10.04%) which suggests that maybe removing confront from Scrapper primaries may be a good idea...
  5. While it is true that, in general, popularity is not necessarily a measure of whether an AT or specific powerset is good or not. However, for the powers selected within sets (outside the first power of the secondary) it may be a better measure. There are some powers that are used in less than 50% of builds with that powerset, that may be a redflag... although a surprising number of Tankers take the T9 from their armor set, so it is not a perfect measure...
  6. Oh, so make it like Group Invisibility, only with flying...
  7. There would still be a bubble...
  8. To clarify, I do not think that Aid Self needs to be buffed. However, it is among the least attractive pool powers in-game atm. That being said, there would need to be a lot of manipulation to heal magnitude, animation time, and recharge to make it more attractive while being balanced and appropriate.
  9. KD is a weak version of KB. KU is a different mechanic with a y-vector rather than an x.
  10. Alright, I think I've gotten closer. My defenses are much better and I slotted for Offensive Opportunity over Defensive Opportunity. I added aim, I don't think it is essential, but I could find space for it, so it is in there. I also avoided six-slotting LotG, so that was good. Hasten is just under perma, which is not ideal, but no build is perfect.
  11. It's all good. Check the link in my sig to see the ATs proposed thus far and follow links to get the full write-ups of each of those proposals. Feel free to vote and/or offer opinions as that is the point of these threads. What would you like to see in a new AT? Btw, three of four of the Quarterfinal matches are officially tied at this moment.
  12. That was a mistake, I need to read up more on the mechanics of Opportunity. I hadn't realized you need to utilize the T1 or T2 to trigger it. I'll make some changes to my build to address that issue.
  13. The DpAT in addition to the long animation time make it a poor power choice. It does have the DpAT of Blizzard or Dreadful Wail and actually does less DpAT than the other two AoE attacks in the set. For a power that is only up every second or third spawn, it did not seem a worthwhile investment.
  14. And we are tied up in both matches!
  15. I could see that working. However, wouldn't it make more sense to have a Cone and a Targeted AoE (at maximum range) in order to simplify the math, prevent errors if there are targeting issues, and demonstrate a visible results in the situation of a single target? Also, possibly have the TAoE vector be towards the center of the circle at 20-30° relative to the x-axis?
  16. I was thinking Cold Silence and Calamari On-ice as character names...
  17. That would take three repel effects. Two to define the sides of the cone and a final one at target with a short range, high frequency, high magnitude repel to keep them in-between you and the target.
  18. I was looking through the level 50 FotM thread and noticed that there were two builds that did not appear in the lvl 50 Controller numbers, Ice/Sonic & Ice/Traps. Just wanted to ask, does anyone play these builds?
  19. Gravitic Melee looks a lot more doable and fun than it did a couple of posts ago...
  20. Alright, I was reading the Flavor of the Month thread. There are seven combos that do not appear for level 50 Sentinels. Of these, three are Archery Primary and three are Cold Armor Secondary. So I thought I would try to throw together a little build to think about how I could get those two to work together. I don't think it is quite where I want it, but please give me your feedback.
  21. oooh... vectored knockback,.. KB mag 4 to the left of caster 0.2s delay, KB mag 6 to the right of caster... TK may actually start to feel like TK... repel on hurricane being adjusted so it is at a 30 degree angle from horizontal so they are lifted slightly by the repel... Remove KB from Tornadoes and add a vertical repel to them... so many possibilities...
  22. If the interrupt is removed, some adjustments may need to be made to heal, animation time, recharge time, etc. On the other hand, many players do not consider it because of the interrupt or the extremely long animation time...
  23. Thank you number six, you are not a number, you are a free man!
  24. One of the reasons the scores are as high as they are is because I considered feasibility and niche (as well as my own desire to play it) when I designed the AT. I also include links to the original posts for each of the ATs, so people can find who created it. I do the evaluation post to show my work and explain why I voted. I encourage discussion of my rankings and offering one's own rankings in this thread. In fact, the only place where I think my rankings could be considered biased would be in the interest, which is reasonable as it is where bias is acceptable.
  25. They changed the inherent for the Rebirth servers "Their Inherent, Resolve, currently applies a stacking area of effect absorb effect on allies when the Guardian assists in defeating a foe." And also, "As some may be aware, Guardians are neither an original idea to Rebirth nor are they a creation of Paragon Studios. I’ll cut right to the chase: Guardians were initially developed for the SCoRE private server. The author of that work came to us to see if we would be interested in picking up the Guardian’s torch to carry on Rebirth after being rejected in favor of Sentinels years ago . . . Guardians are our first major foray into the world of keeping to the spirit of City of Heroes while contributing what we can to continue its legacy into the future. Speaking of the future, Guardian for the time-being is exclusive to Rebirth, per its author’s wishes. However, once we have some more content under our belt, everyone involved has agreed to release Guardian to the public for any server to implement, should they wish to." (emphasis added). Their version of Infernal Assault (while not as good as my proposal of course), also looks quite fun...
