  1. Updated with Rock Blast Assault - although it's more of a ranged set with minor tweaks than a full on assault set.
  2. When you log in there is a button that says "Stay logged in" which is unselected by default. Check that box and this can be avoided... Even though I do not have this problem, I always do ctrl+a, ctrl+c before previewing/posting. I also do that about once a minute out of habit.
  3. I actually proposed an AT that has Assault and Manipulation: Zoomer.
  4. Battle 1: Protector v Interceptor Protector (19.07.25.00.33.xx) Feasibility: 6 - The creation and balancing of secondary sets would take some effort. Niche: 5 - I can see this as sufficiently different from a scrapper, but not sure if I would choose it over a scrapper. Interest: 3 - Might as well make a scrapper. Interceptor (19.07.25.19.29.xx) Feasibility: 6 - The creation and balancing of secondary sets would take some effort. Niche: 3 - Basically a subset of current possible scrapper playstyles. Interest: 2 - Might as well make a scrapper. Battle 2: The Bastion v Bulwark The Bastion (19.07.10.16.20.04) Feasibility: 6 - It may be difficult to calculate appropriate balance (distance is a form of mitigation) and would require readjustment as playstyles adjust. Niche: 5 - It is definitely a niche, but it doesn't seem like it is a useful niche. Interest: 2 - It seems like it would be too Sisyphean of an AT for me. Bulwark (19.08.02.11.18.xx) Feasibility: 7 - While easy to port powersets, I see balance issues as taking some time. Niche: 4 - It seems to be competing for a niche with Defender. Interest: 4 - It would be fun, but I do not really see why I would choose it over a Defender.
  5. Battle 1: The Paladin v Zoomer The Paladin (19.07.20.23.47.10) Feasibility: 7 - While easy to port powersets, I see balance issues as taking some time. Niche: 4 - It seems to be competing for a niche with Defender. Interest: 3 - It would be fun, but I do not really see why I would choose it over a Defender. Zoomer (19.07.25.22.56.xx) Feasibility: 8 - While easy to port powersets, there may be some balance issues. Niche: 9 - This archetype provides a novel feel, and also provides a tool currently not readily available for team fights. Interest: 10 - I really want to try this one out. Battle 2: Infested Infiltrator v Instigator Take Two Infested Infiltrator 19.07.13.09.46.25) Feasibility: 2 - Two unique and lots of new complex animations. This would be a huge investment. Niche: 2 - It seems to be competing for a niche with Wolf Spider. Interest: 5 - I like the idea, but not the investment. Instigator Take 2 (19.07.27.22.25.xx) Feasibility: 8 - While easy to port powersets, there may be some balance issues. Niche: 5 - Just different enough from Tankers and Brutes to be considered its own AT. Interest: 6 - I would give it a go.
  6. I'm working on getting my personal server set up for testing, I also plan on testing Infernal Assault and Temporal Manipulation once I get everything set up, unfortunately I do not have a timeline for this, so I will update when I get a chance.
  7. The First Battles are out! Get your votes in, polls are open for just under one week. Vote for the battles in the Left Bracket and the Right Bracket! Also, make sure to offer comments and feedback!
  8. Welcome to The Great Archetype Concept Battle. This is a set of polls wherein proposed Archetypes go head to head to determine community interest. The Polls will be open for approximately one week and the brackets will be updated weekly. The goal is to come up with a single proposed archetype concept that the whole community can rally behind. Voting should be based, in principle, on Feasibility, Niche, & Interest. Feasibility: 1 (difficult to balance, requires a large amount of set development, etc.) to 10 (could be in-game tomorrow) Niche: 1 (is already addressed by another AT) to 10 (there is a hole in the game that this would fill) Interest: 1 (I wouldn't play it) to 10 (I plan to make at least 20 alts in this AT) Your Contestants! Battle 1: Protector v Interceptor Protector (19.07.25.00.33.xx) Melee/{Support/Armor} Honor & Glory: Glory builds stacks through melee attacks and dissipates through inaction or use of buffs, it grants increased buff efficacy. Protectors juggle between support and dps providing teammates with much-needed support while also helping out with clearing the field. Interceptor (19.07.25.19.29.xx) Melee/{Support/Armor} Full Force: A power boost combined with flat damage critical-like mechanism. Imagine if a scrapper were more of a team player. Battle 2: The Bastion v Bulwark The Bastion (19.07.10.16.20.04) Armor/Ranged Shield Wall: Damage to nearby teammates is shared with Bastion Bastions are backline tanks, protecting the blasters, defenders, and controllers from insurgent line penetrators. Bulwark (19.08.02.11.18.xx) Support/Melee {Positive/Negative} Reinforcement: Use of support boosts the effects of support while decreasing damage and to hit, attacks boost damage and to hit, but decrease the efficacy of support. Bulwarks are front-line support, offering buffs and debuffs from within the fray
  9. Welcome to The Great Archetype Concept Battle. This is a set of polls wherein proposed Archetypes go head to head to determine community interest. Battle 1: The Paladin v Zoomer The Paladin (19.07.20.23.47.10) Support/Melee Zeal: Provides HoT and Def, which increases with enemy engagement This is a melee support class with sufficient sustainability to be in the fray, but not enough to tank. Zoomer (19.07.25.22.56.xx) Manipulation/Assault Zoom: Personal +SPD for ranged, enemy -SPD for melee, and increased speed cap. Zoomers offer the feel of playing a speedster while providing access to two AT-specific power sets that are versatile an fun. Battle 2: Infested Infiltrator v Instigator Take Two Infested Infiltrator 19.07.13.09.46.25) {Melee/Pet}*/Armor* [placeholder]: EAT similar to a Wolf Spider but with a more alien feel. Instigator Take 2 (19.07.27.22.25.xx) Assault/Armor Instigation & Resolve: They have an inherent punchvoke ability, Instigation, similar to Tankers, they also have a secondary inherent that provides stacks of absorb while out of combat. Instigators are mobile meat shields in the truest sense. Tankers are frontline tanks, Brutes are scrapperlocked tanks, Instigators go to where the aggro is (stupid Blaster AoEs).
  10. I know, I commented in it. I was being facetious... (Also, it was originally {Assault/Pet}/{Armor/Support} which changed based on feedback.) It looks like support is spread pretty evenly atm, I think Zoomer will make a comeback though...
  11. Updated with Kinetic Melee Assault
  12. We have the brackets already set up. And which one was duo?
  13. A day and a half are left to clean up your sets. On Monday we have a strong line-up: The Stalwart Paladin v The Flighty Zoomer The Alien Infested Infiltrator v The Aggro-Inducing Instigator Take Two And, on the other side of the bracket, we have: The Role-Juggling Protector v The Team-Centric Interceptor The Backline Tank Bastion v The Frontline Support Bulwark Ballots will open at 00:00:00ish (Osaka time) Monday Morning!
  14. Btw, there is another thread related to this one on Defensive T9s
  15. The way Black Hole currently works, it is definitely very useful, but very situational. I would suggest that a DoT and/or -regen, -rec would be appropriate for consideration.
  16. The intangible meta-game is difficult to actually use because phase-shifting powers are so few, and there are so many that are difficult to control in a meaningful way. Also, other than gravity control, there do not seem to be any powers that have both a phase-shift enemy and a phase-shift self. The general workaround would be phase-shift, but the 30s time limit and high endurance cost makes it barely useful. As such, intangible is usually looked at as a control technique for isolating baddies, or a get-out-of-jail-free card. This is not an easily fixable problem, but perhaps the soft-solution would be to make two adjustments to powers related to intangible: Adjust Black Hole so that while it traps enemies, it also allows allies to move freely in or out of the area of effect and become intangible. Decrease the toggle costs for powers that grant intangibility by 25-50%. I don't know, what are other people's experiences with intangibility and its efficacy/lack thereof?
  17. I would definitely like a different whip powerset, but I've already outlined a way to use existing graphics to make a workable Whip Assault Set.
  18. While I feel like this may be a good idea, it will not affect me as I am lazy/cheap and don't use enhancements until I'm at least level 20. That being said, I definitely agree that there is a need to simplify the enhancement drop structure if it can be done in a way that can actually streamline the code without breaking it or requiring excessive effort.
  19. Alright, I finished editing those eight books, proofing two more, updating three websites, and am waiting for some help for setting up the app, so I went to try this. How do you get a login for the Ouroboros discord?
  20. Sorry, for some reason I thought it was a variant for a ranged set... These compilation threads are tough to put together, but it is nice to have everything all in one place.
  21. Assault Assault is a powerset currently only available to Dominators that combines ranged and melee attacks. This thread is designed as a compilation of proposed Assault powersets. I will do my best to go through the entire forum to find all Assault powersets, however if I do miss one (or not describe one as you like) let me know. Water Assault (19.06.10.07.17.01): Porting Water Blast to assault with some melee. Not really flushed out. Infernal Assault (19.07.09.14.23.01): Whips and hell unleashed. Assault Rifle/Beam Rifle Assault (19.07.13.06.34.01): Combining Assault/Beam Rifle attacks with melee attacks using the butt of the rifle. Rifle Assault (19.07.21.09.26.04): That rifle has two ends donchaknow... Shotgun Assault (19.07.27.03.34.01): Hanging out the passenger side of your best friends ride, trying to holler at me... I mean, shotgun-based attack set. What's your power? Gun (19.07.28.14.00.01): Another take on the Assault Rifle, a little more on the ranged end, and no using the butt... Bio Assault (19.08.02.00.36.01): Simply disgusting. Street Assault (19.08.02.11.57.01): Street Justice Melee combined with metal chain attacks. Gun Fu (19.08.02.11.57.02): Street Justice Melee combined with Dual Pistols. Kinetic Assault (19.08.10.22.52.01): Kinetic Melee with a dabble of range. Rock Blast Assault (19.08.13.11.09.02): An assault set from the Age of Aquarius. Unfortunately the Sandman has yet to Enter (no sleep?)... Vampiric Assault (19.08.18.06.35.02): A set you can really sink your teeth into. Hellfire Assault (19.08.30.10.44.01): Whips and hellfire. Bladestorm (19.09.09.22.32.01): Anime-style ninja mastery to almost comic proportions. Ranger Assault (19.09.15..6.37.01): Arrows and swords. Beam Assault (19.10.08.11.34.01): A sword that shoots lasers. Dual Gunblade Assault (19.10.10.19.15.01): Dual blades + Dual Pistols = Quadruple Deadliness! Weaponized Assault (19.11.03.16.13.01): Guns and swords. Note: I will also be doing a compilation for other types of powersets, but am doing them one at a time to keep the sets manageable. Note: FF2288 is the color I am using for assault.
  22. If you click it, it is more readable. I may break the two sets in order to get a better scaled version. I was just looking through and noticed that I hadn't included the Battlemind, Multiplier, Praetorian Carnival, or Primalist (although the latter is not actually game-generated). Should I try to slide them in the bracket? --taking a look at them, they are not fully developed, which is why I think I left them off the original list--
  23. It does not appear so, at this moment. You may wish to go to the suggestions forum and suggest it.
  24. Tell you what, I'll saw we start in about one week. That will give anyone that wants a chance to clean up their champions the chance to do so. I will open the first surveys at 00:00.00-ish Osaka Time on Monday August 12th. That gives you about 12 and a half hours shy of a week to prepare.
  25. Alright, I put together a bracket with seeds determined by timestamp. My plan is to run up to four polls at a time and work our way to the final battle! Voting based, in principle, on Feasibility, Niche, & Interest (as outlined in the second post of this thread). If people are down, we can start the first polls soon, leave them open for a week and then see where that leaves us... Sorry it took me so long to put this together malonkey1, I had to get the colors just right...
