  1. They actually added the ability to attack and defeat civilians in Mayhem missions.  There's even a Badge for taking down 1,000 of them:  Terminator.

But . . . yeah.  More opportunities to make  . . . "use" of civilians Redside would be a good step toward delivering on some player-agency.

  2. At the very least, having some additional static vehicles to add to Bases would be great.  Especially if we get accompanying emotes for our characters to be properly seated in them.

If we can't actually drive around the Cities proper, we could at least play pretend in our Bases.

  3. With the way the setting is written, @Eoghnved?
"Yes-no."   Or "no-yes" if you prefer.

Ultimately, I think if the character is yours, you get to declare your own origin of power.  If that ends up being incongruous or incompatible with other players' views on the Origins, then it's just kind of the nature of the beast.  The canon is rather fluid and flexible.  I'm fairly sure that's by design.

Granted, if one interpretation of the lore doesn't cooperate with another, the players in question may need to evaluate the importance of interacting with one another against their personal belief in the integrity of the lore.

  4. Bind Wizard:  Accumulate 100 Hours of total Hold time on enemy targets.

Macromancer:  Participate in the application of sufficient Confuse to surpass the Boomtown Council Warwalker's Protection.

Of course, both of these suggestions, we would need to make sure that every Archetype has a reasonable way to obtain Hold and Confuse Powers, even if as Temporary Powers.

  5. That's a very strange philosophy to me.  Equating value to "striving."  I can't honestly fathom it.
I play the game because it's a game which checks a significant number of boxes for the interests I have in a form of interactive entertainment, in terms of visuals, auditory, social, and mechanical elements.

Why else would you think someone would be playing?

  6. Sorry about that.  I had posted the Code back on the @MetaVileTerror account, and I hadn't been on that one for a long while.  I just cycled my About Me-s, so I got the alert.

Honestly, looking at them, the Code could use an overhaul.  But it's meant to be a community endeavour, so I welcome everyone to provide feedback and criticisms!  Please let us know how to improve it.

    --- Hero-leaning
TemporalVileTerror, Natural Defender:  Time Manipulation / Psychic Blast, Level 5
            - extradimensional entity

Sister Ophelia, Natural Defender:  Time Manipulation / Water Blast, Level 5

            - a young woman living in the monastery lead by Father Caleb, who is doing her best to sanctify the souls trapped within the terrible monsters of this world

    --- Vigilante-leaning

Gerald Geldwyn Esq., Natural Mastermind:  Thugs / Sonic Resonance, Level 14

            - partner of the Geldwyn and Yaeger Limited Liability Partnership Law Firm with their head office in Paragon City.  Gerald has taken to the streets recently to help do his part for self-elective community service

    --- Rogue-leaning
Coach Fitzroy, Natural Defender:  Kinetics / Sonic Attack, Level 10
            - disgraced high school coach who pushed students too hard in Paragon City, but has moved to the Rogue Isles and thrived as the physical education and dance instructor at the prestigious Etoile academy; the Chainsaw Ballerina is his star pupil and (in his eyes) magnum opus

Academy Guard Mason, Technology Brute:  Electric Melee / Shield Defense, Level 15
            - professional security guard for a prestigious Etoile academy, he is pretty sour and grumpy, but few know the reason why

    --- Villain-leaning
Korun, Natural Stalker:  Ninja Blade / Bio Armour, Level 22
            - adopted child of Commandant Nongratis and serpentine-humanoid hybrid of unknown origins; he has never really obsessed about his origin as much as his (genetically unrelated) sister Yukimo, and thrives within the toxic family environment established by Commandant Nongratis

Loaned BCU, Technology Soldier of Arachnos, Level 20
            - one of the smaller prototypical BCUs worked on by Arachnos during the early development phase; the machine was loaned to The Army of Commandant Nongratis on a permanent basis since she explained to Arachnos that she can make better use of it than just parking it in a warehouse to collect dust

Operative Cyskers, Natural Arachnos Widow, Level 10
            - a large, proud man who has minor psychic potential which he hopes to develop through Fortunata Training some day, but in the meantime willingly cooperates with The Army of Commandant Nongratis

Gentle Breeze, Mutant Defender:  Storm Summoning / Assault Rifle, Level 15

            - the younger sister to a mutant who became a Rogue, kidnapped by Commandant Nongratis, and used in a grotesque psychological manipulation to make said mutant join the Commandant's forces.  As a by-product, this younger sibling's own mutant powers awoke, and she has been forced to work for the Commandant as well

Lady Black in Black, Technology Controller:  Electric Control / Traps, Level 15
            - one of Brutal Father and Sadistic Mother's favoured children; gifted a suit of electro-shock projection devices for torture of others, which she relishes with aplomb

Count Inculcatius, Magic Blaster:  Dark Blast / Temporal Manipulation, Level 20
            - an "old world" vampire seemingly straight out of the old black and white films (except, in colour! . . . although I may make a monochromatic costume for him), he roams the Rogue Isles in search for blood

Deathguard Eta, Technology Sentinel:  Beam Rifle / Energy Aura, Level 23
            - one of several manufactured footsoldiers as a prototypical series of an evil corporation's planned Legion of Doom product line

    --- SPECIAL!
Temporal Taxi, Technology Controller:  Illusion Control / Time Manipulation, Level 21
            - (not really a roleplay character, but a Helper instead.  Want to get a particular Exploration or History Badge for a low-level character?  Contact me @VileTerror to schedule a time I can help)
