  1. Defender Flash Arrow:

    -9.38% To-Hit Unresistable

    -9.38% To-Hit, Enhanceable up to approximately -15.008%

    Ergo total potential To-Hit -24.388%

    Purple Patch'd 50 vs 54 to around -16.58384%

    Corruptor Flash Arrow:

    -7.5% To-Hit Unresistable

    -7.5% To-Hit, Enhanceable up to approximately -12%

    Ergo total potential To-Hit -19.5%

    Purple Patch'd 50 vs 54 to around -13.26%

(Disclosure:  I'm not 100% sure I necessarily did all this math correctly.  So, if anyone has corrections, please share!)

Soooo, yeah.  Maybe the 3.3% isn't that significant at the level cap for most people out there, but I'd personally still prefer the little extra buffer, since I don't build to max positional Defenses.

  2. OH!  And Defender ATOs!

I find that Acid Arrow makes a good place to slot the full 6 pieces of Defender's Bastion for the AoE Heal Proc.  Your teammates will probably appreciate if you pick that up straight away at level 12.

Alternatively, you may want to consider the Achilles' Heel Chance for Resistance Debuff Proc in there.  But that would preclude you from getting the nice 6 piece Recharge Bonus from Defender's Bastion, and potentially necessitate looking for another place to slot that Set.

The Vigilant Assault Proc could be slotted there instead, and that way you could also fit the Achilles' Heel Proc, since the Area and Fire/Cold Defense Bonus may not be as important to you.  Really depends on if you plan to stay at range the whole time, or occasionally nudge in close to your Brute from time to time.

Poison Gas Arrow is a little more 'eh,' but you could slot the Sleep IO which Heals you in there.  It's rather tiny, but any Self Heal is better than none, right?

  3. Trick Arrow is definitely more clicky, since Tactical Arrow has those Toggles.  It is perhaps a downside to be aware of; you'll have a LOT of Powers to use.  Enough Powers that I'd recommend learning how to carefully analyze a situation in the heat of the moment before clicking your next Power.  Granted, with the Blaster and (especially) that Brute on your team, your margin for error will be more flexible.  Just be sure to lead off with the Flash Arrow.  The Brute should appreciate the To-Hit Debuffs, since Fiery Aura doesn't offer Defense.  After that, probably the Glue Arrow to keep enemies in roughly the right place (which you may want to Macro as a Ranged AoE Power with "/powexeclocation Target Glue Arrow") and then Disruption Arrow.  Eventually slipping Oil Slick in there when you get it.

Of course, I'll give full disclosure:  I'm not hardcore.

If someone more knowledgeable than me wants to chime in and correct any errors or misinformation I may have accidentally shared here, please do!

  4. Hmm, not sure what to tell you.  It might be a localized problem for your account of some sort, as I've been insta-selling all Enhancements with the 1 Inf list for the past several months.  Today I sold about 50 assorted Attunted IOs, all instantly.

Then again, maybe I've just been filling all the big Bids, and now we're down to the lower Bids.  *shrugs*

  5. Honestly, if they can get PvP Bases to work again, bearing in mind that the pathfinding for Pets in Bases is COMPLETELY borked, then I would encourage them to take things one step further:

    PvE in Bases.

Being able to build Bases as levels/maps, and populate them with spawn points for mobs, objectives, and all that fun jazz.

The mind boggles at the possibilities!

  6. With that team?  Yeah.  Trick Arrow / Archery Defender definitely sounds appealing to me.  Brute to take aggro, Blaster to shoot down the enemies, and yourself to monkey-wrench the hell out of any threats that aren't immediately brought low by the already considerable damage from the other two of them.  Not only that, but your Disruption Arrow will be a pretty sweet benefit to both of them, and your Oil Slicks will have PLENTY of opportunities to get ignited.  Hell!  Shoot your Oil Slick Arrow -into- the Assault Rifle's Ignites or the Fiery Aura's Burn patches.

Sounds like a really fun trio, actually . . . I might have to find a couple of people to roll it with me!

  7. I think the biggest question to ask yourself is:  Do you want to solo, or team?

A Trick Arrow Defender is a joy on a team.  Rough solo (but not as rough as some other Defenders).
An Archery Blaster is damned solid solo (particularly around the 20 to 35 range, in my experience).  But they might find other Blasters outshining them in teams.

  8. I'm not personally eager to see players able to attack Civilians in Public Zones.  I was thinking more along the lines of introducing more content with civilian NPCs like in the existing Mayhem Missions.  I figure that would allow players the opportunity to take out their frustrations without potentially overhauling a long-standing and fundamental part of the game.

However, IF the direction this goes is the ability to attack civilians in the streets, then there are two points I'd like to discuss further:

The targeting conditions are definitely a good point against the introduction of such a change.
BUT I wonder if there is a level of fidelity possible by creating a new Villain Alignment.  "Villain, Hostile to Civilians" or something like that.  Basically copy-paste the existing Villain Alignment, but add a flag to it that civies are either enemy orange-targets or neutral yellow-targets, depending on which makes the most sense.
Alternatively to that; make the civies yellow-targets, BUT remove yellow-targets from the normal targeting conditions of the /target_enemy_next and introduce a new /target_neutral_next command (and all associated commands).  This would affect gameplay in Praetoria a bit, but not much else, I think.

@Naomi, given some of the previous discussions related to PvP in this game, I don't think your plan would necessarily be well received as-is.

However, for your potential consideration, here is a post I made a while ago with an alternative:

    https://forums.homecomingservers.com/topic/22335-consideration-of-report-incursion-feature-in-theoretical-unrestricted-access-by-alignment-game/

I hope the idea expressed here is acceptable to your vision, while still maintaining a more collectively prosocial gameplay experience for everyone.

  9. Here I was thinking you meant something like Magnetic Aura, but with a bunch of miniature versions of the weapon models floating around the character.

But, yeah.  Probably a real pain to try and get something like what you've described working.  To the best of my knowledge, each weapon is it's own model, and applying things like aura effects to weapons would necessitate making a new weapon entry in the costume editor for each aura.  Might even need to edit the 3D assets themselves to add what would effectively be "aura anchor points" on the model and rig accordingly.

I like the idea, but it sounds particularly daunting.

Arachnos has a number of Mad Scientists working for them.  It's a cut-throat industry, and sometimes you gotta take a gamble.  Like transplanting the brain of a upper-ten-percent qualification Wolf Spider soldier's brain in to the hollow cavity of a Supa Troll's skull, then regulating the body's biochemistry to keep the body alive and the brain functional.

When it pays off, you get a new type of Super (Supa) Soldier!

But when you use about one hundred Wolf Spiders and it only results in one viable specimen, and they're not even really -that- much of a super soldier . . . well, you get the funding for your project axed.

    And probably your face too.

But hey!  At least the soldier is still kicking around, right?  And what's a Mad Scientist without a legacy after their untimely demise?

  11. Yup.  With No Redraw, it's just like "BOOP!  Suddenly weapon!"  And it can sometimes get a smidge buggy, playing or not playing animations unpredictably, while still rooting you for the duration of what would have been the animation time.

If visual consistency within the fictional framework is crucially important to you, then a combo of two Weapon Sets might become aggravating.  If it doesn't matter, the new Trick Arrow is definitely worth exploring.

  12. Not a bad idea, @Erratic1.  Although, there is a slight question of consent.  Kind of like taking photos of cosplayers in real life.

I suppose as long as you don't identify the player, the character name, or the Shard they're playing on, it could be okay?

Maybe start a thread first asking how others feel about the subject, so this thread doesn't turn in to a discussion/debate, and can continue to focus on screenshots.

  13. I'd be happy with Monkeys, although the gas clouds could get potent in high numbers.

Drones . . . yikes.  Please no?  Their accuracy and perception, coupled with their defenses . . . no likey!  Scary!

Thematically, though, it makes a lot of sense for both Monkeys and Drones to be part of the first wave of shocktroops during a raid.

  14. I'll throw in another hat in the "smaller font letters" request.  The current letters are great for outdoor billboard signage.  It would be most welcome to have an interior font.

While I imagine the same limitation which prevents the Market from being accessible in Bases may also prevent this, but being able to have Architect Entertainment Contacts and Doors available inside a Base would be absolutely incredible.  ESPECIALLY if we could set the Contact to only provide specific Missions.
