  1. Keep in mind one purple drop will buy a whole hell of a lot of level 35-40 stuff. If you're fire farming at 50 on a consistent basis you should have plenty of cash to buy what you need off the AH even without selling your high end drops. You can certainly farm for the lower level stuff if you just want to craft drops and avoid the AH, but if you consider the opportunity costs of missed level 50 drops it'd definitely be sub-optimal to do so.

  2. One other note about hitting stuff - level of the enemy counts. This won't matter to you so much when you're leveling and using common SOs and such but once you get heavily into IO/ATO/WO etc and lots of fiddling in Mids it'll become a factor. I think (i.e. it's what I have mine set at. I trust a forumite to slap me down if I'm wrong) if you go into Mids configuration under Exemping and Base values and change 'Base ToHit' to 48 it'll make your numbers when slotting right for fighting +4 enemies (assuming you're +1), which of course we all do tons of in the current state of the game.

  3. 5 seemed like a step up from the others despite

    Spoiler

actually giving Christianson some dialogue. Also weird they didn't do any de-aging on him. Seems like it'd be easier to do given he's only 40ish. Unless they did it and just did a lousy job of it.

  4. Spoiler

They've made it a point to emphasize that she's obsessed with Kenobi. My working theory is she knew he'd come and is probably more clever than Vader at this point. There's a whole theme in the novels, carried over from Anakin's strong-headedness in the prequels, that Vader is a blunt instrument. I get the feeling they're trying to gradually transform him through his interactions with various clever people (Thrawn, Tarkin, maybe Reva) into the Vader of 4-6 who's masterminding traps and such.

Something just occurred to me, and it might just be a big, ol' plot hole in episode 4:

Reva put a tracker in Lola the droid.

    But why?

At the moment she controlled the droid there was no known threat of rescue.  Kenobi was incapacitated at the very least, Leia was secured deep in the bowels of the complex, and Reva was moving towards the torture step.  The first moment Reva is aware Kenobi has infiltrated is when the alarm went off when she was in a different part of the building, away from Leia and the droid.  So why put a tracker in the droid?  If there was info with Leia it would eventually come out with torture.

The only thing I can think of at the moment is that the writers botched it.  Plot holes are common when writing complex narratives, but something so critical to the bridging of episodes 4 and 5 seems like it would be more tightly considered.

    Spoiler

She probably assumes a 10 year old girl who'd only been kidnapped and met her rescuers that week wouldn't be privy to enough information to damage the Path as much as a surprise attack at wherever they escape to would. I assume trying to get info from Leia was mostly performative. She knows Kenobi well enough to know there'll be a rescue attempt.

It was Maz Kanata's basement, but I can understand the confusion. Not many people know what a Jawa looks like under the robes.

I was vaguely remembering Bad Fox Graphics on Twitter: "“Meanwhile, Senator Mitch McConnell, fresh off his cameo in the new 'Star Wars' movie…” #SNL https://t.co/HkA0wUOxjV" / Twitter

which must've gone viral since I've not watched an ep of SNL since the 90s.

  7. I've only seen 7-9 once, which is once more than I wish I'd seen them. Are we entirely sure Bea Arthur's purse wasn't where Rey found the lightsaber in Mitch McConnell's basement?

"It called out to me like a pal, a confidante. It told me my heart was true."

  8. iirc the holiday special made the official list back when they separated out the legends. i'm sure we all have our fingers crossed for cgi bea arthur force ghost.

It's been like 25+ years since I read the original Thrawn trilogy as a teen. My memory of it is just that I really liked it. He seems a bit too Brainy Smurf to me in the newer stuff, but I might just be romanticizing the original based on 0 content recall.

Rumors abound that they plan to incorporate Legends material and story elements/characters into the assorted Star Wars TV series, including Thrawn.  We shall see.

Thrawn's already been brought into 'official canon' with Rebels and new novels so it's pretty much a foregone conclusion at this point we'll see him. Innertubes seems to want Benadryl Bandersnatch for the part, because innertubes.

  10. Should be fairly obvious if you're just using DO/SO. Stick defense in the defense shields, resist in the resist ones, an endurance reduction in the mez shield since that's all it'll take. Recharge in energy drain. Then slot for heal/recharge in energize (try using it early to take advantage of the +regen, then hopefully it's up again if you need it to heal). If you take disrupt I'd just stick an accuracy in the free slot.

  11. Good thing he had that blaster since there was no town to go back to for a big sack o' dimes.

    Spoiler

Evidently no one can go around anything in this galaxy far, far, away. I see no more reason Vader's troops couldn't have gone around the fire fast enough to catch up with the slow moving droid dragging a limp body than that Obi-Wan and Leia couldn't just squeeze around the energy barrier.

  12. I had the same thought re the younglings

    Spoiler

Reva does seem much too old, and the Jedi on Tatooine also seemed too old. I couldn't really think of any reason why they included that scene since we already know not all the younglings were killed from Mando. I was even more surprised that it didn't get removed at the last minute given the events in Texas. I can only assume that it's going to have some big significance later.

We're also trying not to get noticed. Obi-Wan didn't spend ten years prepping Arby's entrées just for his cover to get blown palling around with Senators.

I'd not even made that connection. Hopefully at some later point

    Spoiler

Obi-Wan will investigate what sort of shenanigans are going on such that the Arby's meat he produced on Tatooine didn't make it into the Arby's on Daiyu. Are space Arby's corporate folks in so deep with the Hutts or Crimson Dawn that they have to allow some of their franchises to be fronts for kidnapping operations? Or did they just have one of their signs stolen and used to disguise the building?

  14. I thought it was just horrible, but not for the reason I expected. I was expecting a long series of easter eggs loosely held together with a thin plot, not the disastrous cast-wide acting and dialogue throughout and the complete gutting of a great character (they ruin Chavez even worse than Birds of Prey ruined Cassandra Cain). Some of the effects were cool but I'm well past being snowed by effects into liking shiny turds. And as much as this was supposed to be the centerpiece kicking off the next phase it really seemed like a standalone.

    Spoiler

They did set up the idea of an incursion which i guess could lead to some version of Secret Wars and left the possibility of FF/Xmen/Inhumans already being in 616 but did so in pretty much the lamest possible way. Essentially this was Labyrinth or Willow with a thin veneer of Marvel multiverse.
