  1. So from what @EnjoyTheJourney posted in the Ice/earth stuff. That is very much the bread and butter of Ice Control. Ice Control has a lot of soft control effects and one AOE hard control, a lot of it needs to be run in melee to really take full effect, so having a set to help compliment or take advantage of the debuffs you bring, -slow, -rech, knockdown, confuse are crucial. I like Psi it was my go to; earth, and savage have been noted on the forms as other great accelerants. I have not tested it but Energy could be viable. Powers: Block of Ice: Standard single target hold, 4-6 sloting for recharge bonus or procing. Frostbite - AOE immobilize, 2 slots of Winter AOE, getting that -slow res which is crucial for Dom's. Artic Air - the staple power for Ice Control. This is the six alot power. Either out the DOM ATO in this, or purple confuse IO. It all counts on your alpha you are using. The +Dam procs nicely in this, and the contagion proc is great too with the pulses. Cold Snap - Skip, we are pretty much having most people at max slow, and it does not add much for us. Not worth the power alot. Ice Slick - Staple power #2 and it only needs one slot. While it does damage, it is minimal and the focus of the power is not that. With one recharge, it will be up enough for each encounter. Flash Freeze - Situational at best. It is a proc friendly power and if you want to use it for that will need ACC. If not procing base slot as it is auto it. Power slotting is tight so this is usually cut to make room for everything else. Glacier - You hard PBAOE hold, 4-5 slot for recharge bonus. Jack Frost - While some people do not like Jack, and he is not usually the best he can be helpful for you at times, and you will be happy to have him with the extra slow and his little bit of hold bonus. Toss in 4 slots for recharge bonus, extra slot for damage proc if possible. Alpha Alot - This is up to you and your preference, but I recommend looking at the Vigor Alpha for Ice Control. While health is not going to help you out a lot, the ACC is nice for more procing, endurance reduction is nice with Artic Air, and the enhanced confusion. I hope this helps.
  2. For Ice/Earth I would suggest only running one of the auras as both have a huge endurance cost. My preference would be towards Artic Air, as it gets massive bonuses with Domination, and you can but the ATO into it if you want to drop the endurance down, and the Purp IO for extra procs. Mud Pots is good, but AA will give enough slot and confusion they will not be gone long enough. And with all the knock back you will have with your attacks they will constantly be confused. I would recommend just getting a recovery like frome Force set, when domination is not going to keep up the blue bar.
  3. Just for clarification, do you mean you are looking for specific about Ice/Fire or Grav/Fire or details about Ice/ and details about Grav/? I know I have talked a bit in the past with Ice, as Ice is my love for Domination. I can run a bit of a run down later, if you are interested, but I have some posts for some Ice/ threads here talking about it. Also I find @EnjoyTheJourney has been recently running grav dom recently and he would be a great person to ask for advice about. For what I have played with /Fire being more ranged focused. I would slide more Grav/Fire, as Ice/ is more melee focused. Again it is stacking the effects you want. Fire would compliment Grav I feel more with the holds, slows, crushing effects and hard controls than ice's soft controls.
  4. I am glad you like it! I am glad to always add more great music for people to enjoy.
  5. Ah music, well instead of going on about the OP, I like the idea of what music is going on. This has been my jam for a bit. I have been going through a lot of 70's - 80's Japanese pop, rock, jazz, and synth. Body Snatchers
  6. Honestly that is what I do. I take long breaks from the game. I will come in and around when I have a goal or an idea on what I want to do. Once the itch is fulfilled I will probably take a break from it. I learned my lesson from other games that I played too much (and CoH) during the COVID years that I can have too much of something and grow to bore or loathe it. So I need time to take time away from it to keep it fresh.
  7. The only answer to this question.
  8. Nope Nope, I remember starting playing this game when CoV was launched and Fitness had to be chosen as a power pick. It was did not become an inherent power until Issue 19. So old school days you waited till level 20 and you liked it. Although I think most ATs sucked before 20 as you got stamina then.
  9. Shouldn't you ask how the update is doing? After asking where and who, it must be going through some identity crisis now.
  10. Fire Epic, is not there for thematic purpose, I think I just had it there, mainly there as I had it there cause I did have what I had originally on the build which is currently on the build. This is just a 1.2 re-tweak of the build which feels better than what I have right now, but does not kinda feel good on paper yet. So I will look at taking the Psi epic as a replacement for fire and piece around stuff. Also originally in my re-tweak I did have arcane bolt 5-slotted with Apocalypse which I think gives the best oomph, but I forgot about a couple of other pieces I did not slot properly. Which kinda made a mess at the end. If going Psi mastery for Indomitdable gives the mez resistance, I would easily move off RoP, as that was more for the emergency button. I will take a look at the Camel thread and see what he has done out and make my plans accordingly.
  11. A true guide to Doms under 5 secs. 90 secs for perma-dom.
  12. I was going over an old build of mine which I was never happy with, which was my Fire/Dark troller. I went through what it currently has on it it and trying to change and retool the character. I do not think I had a real specific goal in mind like perma-fade, just looking for a nice well rounded character. I think it is almost there, but maybe missing a spot or two. I just wanted to see if there was something obvious I missed before I started the retooling. Controller (Fire Control - Darkness Affinity) 2.mbd
  13. Primarily originally for the Silver Mantis SF back in the day, and CoP trial. That is the two thinga I remember doing on live with them.
  14. Is the 117.5% recharge with hasten running or just you base level global bonus recharge? If that is you global recharge minus hasten then you are more than golden with a bit of buffer room. Unless you are getting crammed with a lot of slow or -rech effects. Which the Ageless will counter act if you have that T4 version, then you are fine.
  15. I think you can go with no hasten and make it Perma-dom, if that is the goal, it might be just a bit of planning to make sure to go there. I would not skip on the fire armor epic, as it gives too much resistance numbers for you powers. You can take CJ, Leadership, Force of Will set for travel power, then Fire Epic, with the primary and secondary, it should be doable? I would have to look more into it in Mids. Skipping hasten just adds another power which could take a LoTG mule if you are short for that.
  16. Majority of people try to make domination permanent, as it is easily achievable and it has a very clear upside aside from just more endurance but improved holds and Mez protection. Even minor min/maxing people will try and get that. It is not needed but people will always go for it as it is just clear mechanical improvements. It turns the tied in all field of combat, while not always needed and people do not need it, there is an advantage with it when going against tougher encounters or increasing difficulty Also I play the game and the end game. I plot and plan out my character from 1-50 and then redefine them at 50+ if I want more out of them. For my dominators, and most other ATs as I have seen other commentators on this sub-forum say, I play the character to understand the combo I picked, which powers work and what doesn't work. Once I know what I like and do not like I will make a build and refine it over and over again, getting peer reviews until I get something I am happy with.
  17. I mean as a wrestling fan in real life MMOs do not really have that unless you are going one on one with an AV, then you want perma dom anyway as it still is quite a tussle. While certain builds can do it easily, it is not just a walk in the park. Also since we cannot control the number and rolled for you and against you like how it is planned in wrestling the moment for your signature move does not match that fully. The best you can do usually is to take advantage of the mechanics of the game and work best to leverage to what you desire and want.
  18. I do not have a farmer, and never had any interest in farming or Auction House work in this game. While I am probably low on alt counts sitting around 26 lvl 50 characters. Easily most of them are pretty much fully kitted out. While the one I def call my mains are highly kitted out. Unless you want to immediately want to get all the powers slotted with purples, winters, PVPs, etc you can make quite a bit of money playing the game and through merits to get the gear you need. Just takes some planning on what your goals for a character are.
  19. Glad to see the Girls from Triumph back, hopefully I will see ya around on Excel when I am around.
  20. Never got to experience that, only read about it on the wiki, and I would love to see that in game, especially if it is designed to be no holds barred against us. Also the Rularuu invasion from Issue 2 would be really cool to reintroduce as I read up about that stuff. In a way you could use the Shard TFs to trigger that in a zone possibly? Give them some more juice to do than just when they are WSFs.
  21. As others said the Fiery Orb ATO is nothing to go home about. For creepers the best thing to slot would just be procs, primarly the AOE dam procs as those go off the most for for it. Then others after to fill out what ya need.
  22. Sounds good, I am interested to see what you plan out with /earth, as it is a great set, and I had a great time with /Earth Dom. Lots of KD potential and stun effects. Endurance can be heavy at times, but once you get more control under it you can make it a real beast!
  23. Domination power as per the wiki: Domination protects the villain from Knockback/Knockup, Repel, Disorient, Hold, Sleep, Immobilize, Fear, and Confuse effects, and can be activated even while suffering from them to break the villain free. Domination doubles the magnitude of the villain's own Disorient, Hold, Sleep, Immobilize, Fear, and Confuse effects for their normal durations, then keeps them going at normal magnitude for half that amount of time longer. Debuffs and other secondary effects are not improved. Also I think for the first 10-20 secs you get a to-hit bonus to all your power as well which MIDS does show when you toggle Domination On. So, 10-20 sec to-hit buff, double magnitude for control powers for 90 seconds, and for 90 seconds have mez protection, which can be activate while under an effect.
  24. Don't get me wrong I love Ice Control, it is a personal favorite for dominators for me. I can help the best I can with ya. I do not want to deter you from using if you want to. Just giving my experience so people can enjoy the set as much as possible.
  25. I will take a look over the build a bit when one is posted, I cannot talk much for Elec Assault, but Ice Control works best and excels in melee combat. You bread and butter soft control powers work best in melee range which is Artic Air and Ice Slick. So working with a secondary that excels in melee will make the build feel much smoother but again anything works. For Ice and Psi epics, I usually prefer Res Armor Epics because Doms do not get inherited -defense debuff, so unless your primary or secondary can really take advantage of defense armor it can be tricky. Psi has the advantage of having a lot of LoTG mules which gives a bit of a bonus, but the AOE is just average. Ice armor is great and gives you high levels of def where ya want to be which is S/L, has an amazing debuff in sleet, good AOE, nice heal, and an oh shit power. The epics are always players choice but it fits what you want your character to do, as I said my preference is res armors. Aside from that control is your primary defense, with 90% recharge being the main goal to get permadom to lock down enemies. Then shore up with a layer defense mix of res/def numbers till you are comfortable. Also adding about 50% slow resistance for comfort if possible. Edit - spelling errors
