  1. Hi there,

So I figured I'd ask about something that's been going on.

My recollection from the Live era is that what's supposed to happen is that a given item gets sold to whoever has the highest offer at it above the posting price.  What I've had happen to me several times is, I'll see a given IO, and IDK, let's say the Last 5 are all in the 7-10M range.  If I post it low, there always seems to someone walking off with it for like 20K or some other ridiculously low number.

I feel like I must be misremembering some Market behavior from back in the day.  Any tips on how to prevent that while still allowing the item to sell reasonably quickly?

    Thanks,

    Generator

  2. Hi there,

So I've got a Corruptor I love a ton, but I don't really have a well thought-out build for him.  I didn't really have a unifying goal for the build.  (Like, I doesn't strike me that softcapping him is something I want to bother with.)  The end result is that basically I did a bunch of, "What's the best-looking set I can jam in these slots?"  The end result is something that'll probably work well enough, but if anyone sees ways to tighten this up while not bailing on the power choices, I'd love some feedback.

One power choice I am definitely considering: I started putting this guy together before the snipe changes were finalized and went live.  I'm thinking I could ditch Flares, and make the single-target attacks Fire Blast, Blaze, and Blazing Bolt.  Any thoughts on that?

    Later,

    Generator

EDIT: I remembered I have a question.  I have the Gaussian's proc in Forge at the moment.  If it procs, the benefit goes to me, right?  Not the guy on whom I cast it?

Wait... was this when AV's got their HP buff that put their regen over the top?   I never heard the game boy story.... that's fantastic!

No, at the very start of Issue 3, Bosses were buffed to ridiculous levels (big boosts to HP and Dmg, if memory serves).  Made things untenable, having these damn things everywhere.  Eventually they were forced to roll that back.  Am I misremembering that as the point at which the Elite Boss rank was created?

  4. @Drastic, you make a good point about the Banished Pantheon.  I think it's the boss-level one with the Radiation powers, that'd be the Elder of sorrows.  They just made the list. Since I posted this I also added Immunes Surgeons; I can't believe I missed them the first time.

  5. @Jaguaratron, oh I definitely remember that Jack's direction for the game was... we'll be kind and say "idiosyncratic" (I'm thinking of his fervent opposition to showing us real numbers, and also that Boss change at I3, allegedly inspired by a super tough boss fight he had on a Game Boy, and now having thought about that I'm suppressing a facial tic).  I won't lie, I wasn't all that broken up when he parted ways with Paragon.

  6. Little CO anecdote time:

The night the shutdown was announced in August 2012, that night on Pinnacle a bunch of us were gathered in the RWZ for what felt like a weird combination of "wake meets last day on campus after college graduation."  There was this one player I was acquainted with who, when someone mentioned that CO was still an option, responded with, "CO plays like the F***-You Fairy s*** in my coffee."

Any idea that I could give that game a fair shake died pretty hard right there.  🙂

  7. My problem with CO was never a game problem, it was more of a Jack Emmert problem.

From the moment that game was announced, he suddenly pivoted and started s**t-talking COH, in an effort to hype up all the things CO was allegedly going to do better.  Given that he had spent the preceding decade making COH, this struck me as more than a bit of a credibility gap.

Wish the DoT was a little more front-loaded...

As a friend of mine noted, for a Tanker the Dot taking so long to apply is kind of a plus, that way the enemies are continually aggravated by it.

  9. Hi,

So my altitis struck again, and I rolled up a Street Justice/Ice Armor Scrapper last night who's now into his teens.  Lots of fun so far.  This is my first time back on Street Justice since the Live era, I'd allowed myself to forget how fun it is.  Anyone else doing this combo?

Have a great day and stay safe.

  10. Hey,

Just wondering.  The snipe powers that are in the Patron Pools, were they affected by the sniper changes a while ago?  I wasn't terribly focused on Stalkers back when those changes went through.

Thanks and have a good one.

But, since a Mids export was placed, I'm guessing it was done on a computer, so my comment was more of a "neat to know", but not particularly useful.

Bopper, given that I've been on these forums on my phone going bonkers wondering, "How in the hell do you do spoilers?"  I'd say that's quite useful.  🙂 Thanks.

I admit, I lol'd. But Dark Armor's biggest end sink is Dark Regeneration, which you can dump a Theft of Essence proc into.

Does the Theft of Essence proc still help now that it's PPM?  I'll admit I've shied away from recreating my DM/DA mainly because of uncertainty about that.

  13. I finally got around to setting up my old Popmenu targeting menu.  Sometimes you're in the middle of a real furball of a fight, and realize you have to target one specific guy.  So far I've set up for the three things that are most annoying: Malta Sappers, DE Cairn emanators, and Quartz emanators.  Anyone got any further nominees for the "you must die now" list?  🙂

// Here's the priority targeting part.
    Menu "PriorityTarget"
    {
    Title "Select a Target!"
Option "&1 Sapper" "target_custom_near enemy alive sapper"
Option "&2 Cairn" "target_custom_near enemy cairn"
Option "&3 Quartz" "target_custom_near enemy quartz"
    }

PS - How do I put the above in a spoiler box? This one isn't bad but if I had a real big 'un I'd want to hide that in a spoiler tag.

Maybe a Slow Resist in Super Jump rather than Jumping?  Might keep you out of a bit of -recharge heck.  That's about the only thing that occurs to me.

I'll check it out as a possibility, thanks for the suggestion.

  16. Hey there,

Below find a revamp of the build, mainly incorporating suggestions by @Caulderone and @Sura (thanks folks!).

This version Incarnate-softcaps vs Melee and Ranged (not AOE, off by a few points) without taking Agility Alpha.  I might still take Agility, though, mainly for the +EndMod and +Rchg.  I'll probably start with that one then try another (but I don't yet know which).

Later, and thanks for the feedback!

  17. That is a very reasonable change, with small scope, that looks like it'll have a significant effect.  I don't fight +4s as a general course of action but I'll definitely look at that as a change to make.  (I might have already 2-slotted BU, so I may have to burn a respec on that, oh well.)

As much as it usually irks me when someone answers the question I didn't ask, that was good, so thanks a ton, man.  👍
