  1. Ah, OK. So there is a prereq, just not a mission prereq. Thanks!
  2. How do I run Loyalist missions while secretly working for the Resistance? I'm pretty sure I need to start as Resistance, right? And then start with Praetor White and run Loyalist missions, I'm doing that as well. But when I come to a mish that has "Members of the Resistance working under cover should call Calvin Scott"; I call Scott and he does nothing different other than just offering normal missions. Are there some prerequisite missions I need to run for Scott before going undercover?
  3. They changed the name of the folder from "City of Heroes" to "Homecoming." I don't remember when.
  4. Nevermind, Freebies menu is back as of last Beta patch. Hey AboveTheChemist, Since the last Beta build, the Freebies menu is not currently available by using the Quick Chat icon. Per the Aug 11 Patch notes, apparently this is intentional, something to do with the special Cimerora AE map being developed. They said it would be back probably by Tue the 17th but no joy. Is there any way you can post the latest "freebies.mnu" in this thread? The one I've been using is very old (ver 20190824.01). Thanks much!

    DPS? or DPA?

I guess I need a primer on picking powers (alliteration ftw) If you have to choose between two powers do you pick the one with the highest Damage per Second or the one with the highest Damage per Activation. Frex, if I create a Psi Melee broot. At first level I have to choose between Mental Strike and Psi Blade. Mental Strike does 9.86 avg dmg and recharges in 3 seconds so I can use it 20 times a minute so if I attack using nothing but Mental Strike I'll do 9.86 x 20 = 197.2 dmg in a minute of fighting. Psi Blade does 15.96 avg dmg and recharges in 5 seconds so I can use it 12 times a minute so if I attack using nothing but Psi Blade I'll do 15.96 x 12 = 191.52 dmg in a minute of fighting. So if I pick my first power using the Damage per Second paradigm, then Mental Strike is the winner. But for realz, not really that much difference. But at second level when Telekinetic Blow becomes available, it does only 21.14 avg dmg x 6.67 times per minute = 140.9 damage in a minute of fighting. Which is significantly below the first two powers. Does this mean that at 2nd level I should ignore Telekinetic Blow and just pick whichever of the first two I did not get? =-=-=-==-=-=-=-=-==- But if I compare Damage per Activation Time: Mental Strike has (9.86 avg dmg divided by 1 sec activation time = ) 9.86 DPA. Psi Blade has (15.96 avg dmg divided by 1.33 sec activation time = ) 12 DPA. So if I pick powers using the Damage per Activation paradigm, then Psi Blade is the clear choice at first level. At second level when Telekinetic Blow becomes available, it has (21.14 avg dmg divided by 1.47 activation time = ) 14.38 DPA =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= T E A L D E E R If I pick powers using DPS, I should pick Mental Strike and Psi Blade and ignore Telekinetic Blow If I pick powers using DPA, I should pick Psi Blade and Telekinetic Blow and ignore Mental Strike What should I do? =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= (and this doesn't even go into those people who say DPE (damage per endurance) is the way to go. Cuz if you ain't got no endurance, you ain't doin' no damije)
  6. Most (all?) contacts have story arcs. Story arcs are afaik all available thru Flashback. However contacts also have one-off missions that are NOT part of their story arcs. Most of these one-off missions are NOT available thru Flashback unless there is a badge involved (such as Maria Jenkins' Nightstar mission which is NOT part of her Hero's Epic story arc BUT is available thru Flashback because it awards Shrouded Badge which is needed for Portal Jockey) or there is some other needed aspect to the mission (such as it unlocks a TF contact or something like that.) One mission that I can think of off the top of my head that is NOT available thru Flashback is "Investigate the Lost City of Oranbega" given by either Laura Brunette or Miriam Bloeckle. This mission is NOT part of their normal story arcs but it is notable because the "real" (as opposed to Vet Power) Sands of Mu is available in it. (The real Sands of Mu has half the recharge).
  7. Olivia Neutron-Bomb - she's a Rad/Mental Blaster ..cuz, yanno, Rad's are a little mental, but Mentals are so rad!
  8. Sorry for the sarcasm but that's my point. Tanks don't get Regen. Maybe whoever told you that a Regen Tank was not a good idea was referring to Reflexes? as in Super Reflexes?
  9. If you share your Kin/? troller build with us, I'll share my Regen/? tank build.
  10. I was @GATE-keeper back in the day. Played from about Jun 2006 until shutdown. Currently on Everlasting since Infinity and Everlasting are the same thing, right. Actually, now that i've had a few weeks to think about it, Everlasting and Eternity are the same thing, not Infinity. Oh well. I spent about 90% soloing, so you probably missed me. About the only grouping I did was Ironblade's Sat afternoon TFs (actually started by Johnny Taxibot, who passed the reins to Ms Cats who passed the reins to IB) For the last few years I hosted Task Force Commander Tuesdays at 10pm (same six TFs - one a week - over and over and over and over....Well, until they split Posi then the same seven TFs over and ove ... you get the idea) I guess I did a fair few Rikti raids that Hercules ran every Sunday night. And a few Hami Raids that Cremzen would run right after the Rikti raid. GATE-keeper (Inv/SS tank) My main. Why is it spelled that way? Because Gatekeeper was taken. So was Gate-keeper. I refused to do G4t3k33p3r. Finally able to get GATE-keeper to work. Had to make a SG called Global Anti-Terror Enterprise to force it to make sense. Anita Hero (WP/Nrg tank) Her name is a play on the Bonnie Tyler song "I need a hero!" Olivia Neutron-Bomb (Rad/Mental blaster). Yeah, rads are a little mental, but mentals are so rad! Statesdude (Street/Will brute) He's Statesman from another dimension. No not Praetoria, Partyoria. He's a scrawny, surfer looking dude. Wild hair, goatee, barefoot, boxing shorts that look like surfer shorts. Loved it when hoverboard came out! Of course, since I had a GATE-keeper, I just had to make a KEY-master (Fire/Dark corruptor) GATE's opposite. I think those were my 50s. Maybe a half dozen others that didn't make it that far.
