I've asked several times in game and that's the answer I was given multiple times. I guess it would FoTM for sentinels, I agree there are few of them in game. I've got a lvl14 water/bio brought up through AP and the Hollows, and while it's not OP I'm having a lot of fun with it although I'm still trying to fully understand how sentinels work.

Endgame no purples TriForm Warsahde build
Papaschtroumpf replied to Papaschtroumpf's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
Of course using ATOs is almost like using purples :) I think the build would still be really good without those, even if you lose the rchg bonuses. I finally got to examplar with it. I feel like a killing machine around 30 (can't remember the name exact lvl I joined). I also did the summer blockbuster and enjoy d being able to blast non stop and get 2 (or was it 3?) pets even at that level. I then did the skyway city signature arc solo and forgot to reset form 8x+1 and made it through the mission but does died multiple times. Not enough tools at that level and even dwarf eventually gets overwhelmed by too many CoTs. Switched to 4x+0 for the rest of the arc and made it through fine with judicious use of inspirations. I still need to get 50 merits for my last ATO so I intend to run some TFs at different levels this weekend (I already have my TFC accolade), then it's Portal AVs arc time so replenish my funds. I have two alts I want to get to 50. An ice/rad corruptor and an elec/shield scrapper -
Water/Bio is in my future then !
-
I want to make an alt that is uses as muchbad possible that I have never used before. Sentinel is the only AT I haven't never rolled, so that was easy. Primaries I have never tried are water and beam rifle (never tried staff or Titan weapons but not a option here) Secondaries I have never tried are bio and ninjutsu I have never tried the Sorcery power pool I can't remember what Epic pools I have used in the past except Sould and Fire, but those two are out. Make me a recommendation! I heard water/ninjutsu is a bit flavor of the month but probably for a reason. Thematically I like water/bio or beam/ninjutsu My triform warshade has the combination of up close and PBAOE and ranged attack, so I'm not necessarily looking for that in a sentinel (I think I would prefer to stay more ranged?) but I won't know till I try the AT. I also always take as many powers as possible as I level, give then a try, use regular IOs and later frankenslot and Respec at least twice on the way to 50. Here I want to try and not Respec once before 50, but instead plan a "growing up" build from 0 to 50 and try to stick to it. I'll likely take that opportunity to try attuned enhancements. Still trying of other ways I can "something new" into a character. Without Sorcery I may have done no travel power I'm bug on softcap defense, is there a combo that lends itself well to it?

Endgame no purples TriForm Warsahde build
Papaschtroumpf replied to Papaschtroumpf's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
So I bought or crafted more the prices yesterday. Used converter roulette to get my LoTGs and Heal uniques. I am 86 merits short of my last ATO, at least I had enough catalysts from drops to cover all 12. I ran out of money so I still need the obliterations and a handful of Positrons. Still, this is it my 3rd week back in the game. I don't PL and don't play the market. I just enjoy playing the game, so it's amazing I can have a high level build like that without much trouble. I didn't use 2x XP boosters levelling up, so I got some influence along the way, but used a lot to frankenslot on the way to 50 as I was retesting reminding me of powers without trying to build a final build while levelling up. I did play change to "no XP" mode 2 days ago when I hit vet lvl21 and had T3s in Alpha, Lore and Destiny. I think I will play without XP for one more day until I can afford the handful of enhancements I need. The recharge on this is ridiculous, in fact I realized I forgot to slot an LoTG in Shadow Cloak it I tested it at lvl50 (in the streets not in a trial) and hasten is fully recharged many seconds (10? Pine's can probably tell me for sure) and so is Eclipse. It still doesn't prevent you from screwing it up and running past a group (I was laggy last night) so your eclipse doesn't hit as many as you wanted and now you are gimped for 80s or so. Still a blast to play. I made a few tweaks from the build above so I will likely post an update. My blue bar darts high constantly even with the heightened firing rate, so I may experiment on beta with itting for less recovery (one slot in Stamina?) if I decided I need it somewhere else. I'm also going to replace the endmod in Nova to Fly speed an see how it goes. How I and I did get tossed a few times last night so I might boost KB protection to +8 with one of the uniques. -
how do you slot end mods and health?
Papaschtroumpf replied to Papaschtroumpf's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
I respec'd yesterday with Numina, Miracle, Regen Tissue Procs in health and Efficacy Adaptor Proc and regular endmod in Stamina. In regular combat there is no way I'll run out of end. This is with perma hasten, T3 Spiritual and enough rechg bonuses to have Eclipse be recharrged 8 seconds before it wears out, so I blast stuff as fast as it gets recharged. I'm not a good judge of healing rate. That being said the sapper wareworks in the lambda trial can still manage to run me dry, and I can still faceplant in dwarf because damage is outpacing resist+Regen, although it takes longer. I think it would be possible to steal a slot (probably just out the default slot in Stamina) should I want it somewhere else -
Elec/Shield Scrapper build. Triple Teleport PBAOE madness.
Papaschtroumpf replied to Shivinski's topic in Scrapper
LoTGs are not set bonuses. Maybe you still cna't have more than 5, but they definitely don't "compete" with any of the other +7.5% recharge -
OK, enabled notifications for any comments on the build as I have my own Ice/Rad and at lvl 20 so thing I like the combo, so it's time to plan getting to 50. I'll load your build in Pine's as it's easier to read than on the forums. What did you focus on to guide you in the build?

how do you slot end mods and health?
Papaschtroumpf replied to Papaschtroumpf's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
lol, I ran some combinations in Pine's and the numbers are nothing like what I had above, but I was at least partly right that oyu get a good boost from slotting at least one regular IO : Health Stamina recovery regen off off 100% 1.67/s 100% not slotted not slotted 125% 140% 50 heal IO (42.4%) 50 EndMod IO (42.4%) 136% 157% 2x50 heal IO(83.3%) 2x50 EndMod IO(83.3%) 146% 2.43% 173% 3x50 heal IO(99.1%) 3x50 EndMod IO(99.08%) 150% 2.5/s 180% 3 Health procs 50 EndMod IO 161% 2.68/s 185% 3 Health procs + 50 IO 2x50 EndMod IO 171% 2.88/s 202% 3 Health procs lvl50+5 IO 163% 2.72/s 185% 3 Health procs +50+5 IO lvl50+5 IO 163% 2.72/s 206% 3 Health procs +2x50+5IO 2xlvl50+5 IO 174% 2.9/s 223% I think in the end I do like the suggestion of 3 procs in health 1 endmod + Performance shiter proc in Stamina should be quite efficient although I can't figure out the contribution of the proc vs a lv50 IO -

I'm gonna have to break out Pine's tonight and runthrough some of those permutations to check my math -
how do you slot end mods and health?
Papaschtroumpf replied to Papaschtroumpf's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
I'm not sure how to work the numbers. What is better, slotting a lvl50 Heal IO into health (increase base regen by 38%) or slotting regenerative tissue +20% regen? isn't that 20% of that same base regen, so you are better off slotting an IO? I thought procs were a way to defeat ED so rather than add a 3rd IO and have ED take most of it away, the proc provides additional regen (between all 3 procs, more than an IO's worth) untouched by ED. If I undrestand the math we can compare: Stamina: lvl50 IO EndMod (default slot) + lvl50 IO EndMod (placed slot) = 42.4 *2 = 84.8% Health : lvl50 IO Heal (default slot) + lvl50 IO Heal (placed slot) = 42.4 *2 = 84.8% Total 42.*4 x 2 = 84.8% improvement in regen (ED might shave a bit off of that?, should be minimal) Total 42.*4 x 2 = 84.8% improvement in recovery (ED might shave a bit off of that?, should be minimal) vs Stamina: lvl 50 endMod (default Slot) = 42.4 recovery Health : Regenerative tisse Proc + Miracle Proc + Numina Proc = 25+20 = 45% regen and 15+10 = 35% recovery Total = 42.4+35% = 77.4% recovery Total = 45% regen So in both cases you used two of your precious placeable slots, but you get less of both recovery and regen in the second case, even though you bought expensive procs Is something wrong with this analysis? In the first case though, a 3rd lvl50 IO in each health or stamina increases your totals by maybe 10% due to ED (I don't have Mid's handy so I can't check) This is where adding the 3 procs to those already two-slotted powers, you could boots your total recovery to 84+10+15= 119% and your regen to 84+25+20 = 129% but now you are using 5 placeable slots, which you may not want to spare if you can get your +rec and +end bonuses from set bonuses Something to consider would be to use boosted IOs, I think a lvl50+5 IO is 63% improvement, so now slot one each in health and stamina's default slot, then add 3 slots to health for the healing procs: recovery = 63+35 = 98% regen=63+45 = 108% but you're still using 3 placeable slots So the procs get you above ED but at the cost of additional slots -
I'm trying to understand how forms affect the health and recovery. Stygian circle is great, but I love not needing it all the time, more as an emergency button or for topping off while miring or eclipsing I think the fitness pool works for ALL forms human/nova/dwarf so it's where you would put your heavy hitters? I think I want to slot health with +rec/+heal (Numina unique I think?), +heal (the other HEal enhancement proc, sorry don't have the game handy), and a regular heal enhancement (possibly boosted to +5?) Endurance recovery is where I'm not sure. If I put a Performance shifter +end Proc in Dwarf, does it only work while in Dwarf? I think so. Same if I put it in Nova. Pine's doesn;t show the performance shifter proc to be unique, so should I slot one in multiple places? Nova recovery seems decent so maybe put a regular endmod (boosted to +5 also?) in Nova? Currently Dwarf iswher I run into End issues, although I think it's due to my poor slotting more than anything else.

I could see a Human Only wanting the Fly pool, but I think you can't take the Flying (or TP) pool as a Warshade. i wonder if there is a hole that would let you take sorcery, which has its own fly? (and TP) but not Hover.

Enhancement Sets for Kheldians
Papaschtroumpf replied to Gulbasaur's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
It would make more sense to put the proc in one of the stronger and better slotted powers. Hmm. Where top find a slot? -
Enhancement Sets for Kheldians
Papaschtroumpf replied to Gulbasaur's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
OK thanks. I didn't even have those two lower blasts in my Dwaer/Nova respectively, it the chance to heal is a good reason to add it in, I don't think I have an extra slot to spare for it though. -
OK, I think the description in Pine's is what got me confused. Great power for a Human only, not so much for a Tri-Form although I could see its utility. Need to think if I should use the slot for something else. Maybe Maneuvers as another LoTG mule.

Enhancement Sets for Kheldians
Papaschtroumpf replied to Gulbasaur's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
"dump the proc in there, which will give the chance to heal..." I'm still a bit confused by procs and I can't find a description of how this one is supposed to work. Does the chance to proc only happen when you use the power it's slotted in? Uf so what is "global" about it? Or does it hits on a regular basis as if it was slotted in a passive ? -
So I was putting a bunch of purple sets in a theoretical build (one quite inspired by RedLynne's) and was wondering at the ridiculousness of it, so I used Pine's ability to put alternate sets and replaced them with less rare set IOs that could be both attuned and boosted if I wanted to. I did work the ATOs in and overwhelming force since it's easy to get at least some of the m from the summer blockbuster, This is a bit of a work in progress, but this is what I have so far. I believe it's Perma Eclipse and almost Perma-Hasten I could put a Blessing of the Zephyr KB protection in shadow step, but I already have it from the Overwhelming force set, so maybe it's a waster to go to +8 magnitude (and clarion also adds to KN protection I believe) I already have a Performance Shifter +End in Stamina. It's not marked as Unique in Pine's could I put another in Nova? Not sure what else to slot in Nova I also went for heal and recovery bonuses since with that much recharge I could have End problem although Stygian Circle is there to help. Teh empty slot in Quasar is to put a KB-to-KD enhancement, I couldn't find it in Pine's but I know I have one in my current build. I'm also not quite sure how the proc works in OVerwhelming force, but I put it in Nova Detonation because it's the other power where KB annoys me. Hmm, it probably stacks well with the come stun (gravity emanation?) and should be able to stun bosses? I don't have a lot of slots to spare for it but it sounds worth trying.
-
I somehow missed inky aspect while levelling to 50 while I was reminding myself of what each power did (it's been a while since I played a WS) I think I brainfarted and thought it was a toggle, which I'm avoiding on this build because I'm tri-form and don't want to retoggle every time I go to human. So, it's not a toggle, and seems like a possible damage mitigation although activation seems to be in the longish side, so not a way to soak the alpha? But a way to mitigate damage while you regroup? Did you take it in your tri-form warshade and how do use it (and how do you slot it?)
-
I got bored with my fire/dark corruptor so I rolled an ice/rad. As much as the Fire/Dark makes the rest of the team go "hey leave som for us", Ice/Rad right now makes the rest of the team go "man we're good" without realizing as much how much I contribute with debuffs and less showy damage. Anyway, at 22 I have a way to go and as usual I'm taking many powers level up to get a feel for them without worrying too much a out "optimizing". However it's it's never too early to think about the later game and I was wondering if anyone has a build to share, what powers you think are must have or not, if there are tricks of the trade (vengeance+mutation=win button?). Also what Epic power pools are a good synergy and what are bonuses you think work well. I think this build has a potential to be an AV killer with heavy debuffs. I payed an I'll/rad controller back in the day but forgot a lot of it.
-
I'll give some quick thoughts, hopefully RedLynne won't mind or can correct me.:) ALPHA Spiritual and Agility both give you +rechg. ReLynne's build is almost perma Eclipse according to Pine's but it about 2s short. Either Spiritual or Agility will get you there. Spiritual Core (I think) by about 8s and Agility by 6s. For most powers the difference is even more negligible, unless you didn't have enough set bonuses to start with. So look at the secondary/tertiaries. I don't have my notes on front of me but I think I concluded that Agility was slightly better for Humans Forms that have a lot of defense because it will boost those. For Tri-form Spiritual is a safe bet. Someone (Azrath?) mentionned cardiac for for +res. eclipse maxes your res so it would mostly have to be for single AV survivability. I couldn't beat Pines into submission to let me get numbers for Dwarf with Cardiac and I gave up. DESTINY Clarion all the way for me. I used to play a human only back in the day when messes detoggled you, so I know all about the WS hole being mezzes (defense helped mezzes miss) Even now, it's a pain to be locked into Dwarf because you know you're going to be mezzed in the fraction of a second you need for Mire, Eclipse, or Circle. The T4 is perma, lasts 2 minutes and recharges in 2 minutes. You can even wait for the first mezz to pop it, like a breakfree (this game has gotten so much easier!) JUDGEMENT Void is probably the best fit thematically and is PBAOE liek quasarr. I'm partial to Ion since you don't have to be in the middle of the mob and it's a bit showy but oh so satisfying. They really are all OK, pick whatever floats your boat. LORE According to the wiki, Coneroran have the brightest single target damage (by almost 50% if I remember right). So in my opinion it's the one to get . You want single target to help with AVs or EBs. But I didn't take it. I'm a big purple alien, why would I have Romans follow me around (well, ITF could have the answer) but I didn't like it. I took Polar Lights. Highest (or close to it) AOE damage for Lore Pets. More AOE isn't bad, but mostly I liked the subdued look and they look vaguely Kheldian. Pick your favorites, I just hate big gigantic pets that block the team's view. INTERFACE I didn't do too much research on that one. I think I took paralytic because decreasing enemy damage is is like adding to your resistance even though it's capped. I think Reactive is a good choice too. Makes you hit harder. Maybe a better choice for a human only where your damage is "only" defender scale HYBRID I haven't slotted mine yet even though it's unlocked. Been too busy with the other slots. Assault looks like a safe bet at first glance.
-
Look at RedLynne's example a few posts down. That build has a 91ish recharge on Eclipse and its duration is 90s, so almost perma. Because it's an exemplar friendly build you might be able to tweak it to get to perma. With the right alpha slotting it's definitely perma.
-
I'm not sure I have experienced the "fade" that the power describes. Maybe luck, maybe you start with high magnitude and it eventually gets to a lower level? any mezz protection is better than none. At least mezz doesn't detoggle you like in the old days, that would have made for a a painful experience
-
For what it's worth, here is more or less what I did on the way up. I recreated in Pine's and didn't worry too much about when I slotted what so the order of slotting may be a little off. This is a frankenslotted build using mostly yellow sets. It's not really optimized and I'm sure you can do better but it got me to 50 quite well even though I didn't have perma eclipse, etc... Very much a triform build,if it's a toggle, I don;t take it (I took combat jump in case I happen buy a Luck of the Gambler +rchg but it's not even in my tray right now). In fact several other powers I don;t sue I just didn;t know what to pick at the time (orbiting death is cool but a toggle, so I don;t use it). The weird lvl21 IOs are placeholder for the free P2Win IOs that work at any level, Pine's doesnt seem to know about them so I faked then with a dmg/rchg at lvl 21 (obviously ignores the proc effect but that goes away at 22 anyway) I slotted nova as a priority, mire+eclipse, then the booms. In retrospect I might try to slot some of the dwarf attacks earlier. I never use the TP foe, or dark detonation, shadow slip is meh, but honestly I don't know what to take after a while. If I respec with better sets I will pick pool powers that can be mules for the right sets I love the knockback to knockdown on Quasar even if it's a bit expensive. I'm not sure the proc in dwarf form is really well spent, but I happened to get the recipe drop I went for perma-clarion in my Destiny slot. I have a T1 Spiritual in my Alpha slot for +rchg but I'm still considering Agility, I need to crunch some numbers. Most of the other incarnates are mostly personal preference I think Anyway, a possible place to get you started for your own build without spending billions. It's not a monster build, but I did my alpha slot arc at 8x +0 and only died a couple times from not being ready for ambushes and the Honoree hits hard when you have no more bods around to buff you.
