My Tri-Form Warshade hits 50
Papaschtroumpf replied to Papaschtroumpf's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
Nope that be me. I wrote a PB guide back then. Still like PBs, but like Was more. -
I didn't open the build hex blob in Pine's so I can't look at it. I used to have a human only back in the day. I had 35% defense to most everything (using maneuvers and weave if I remember right), Eclipse was perma, and it was a great build. It was more survivable than my Tri-Form, and back then the form change too too long. With I25 I decided to go tri-form just for the craziness of constantly form switching. It's different more than better. Slightly more utility but easier to make mistakes and face plant with a tri-form. Everyone should have one of each. By the way, the defense helps a lot with mezzed, if they can't hit you they can't mezz you. Take Perma-Clarion once you're incarnate and the game suddenly became too easy :) (that's true of the tri-form too).

Can't figure it out, how do I get started
Papaschtroumpf replied to Papaschtroumpf's topic in Base Construction
Thanks. I think I finally figured out. Most of the pieces are "decorative" and do nothing but i now have a base with a few salvage bins, enhancemnt bins, a crafting table , vault access (not really necessary since you can do that frm the command line), a merit ATM and a telported to nowhere because I think you need to unclok them? -
There is so much info out there that I don't know where to start and how not to make a huge mistake like deleting a storage bin full of slavage (assuming I can even figure out how to get that going). right now I am an SG of one and may keep it that way (just me and my alts). What I want is a place to provide additional storage and crafting tables so I don't have to keep going to Steel Canyon to craft. How do I build that? someone said you need a generator to power the table? Can I accidentally delete a bin full of salvage while editing the base, or are there safeguards? I don't want to invest a ton of time in base building, making it pretty, etc..

I reached 50 Saturday night on my tri-form warshade. To celebrate I decided to Solo the Mender Ramiel arc to unlock my alpha slot on 8x +0. I face planted a few times and got right back up with whatever the selfres power is but made it through without too much trouble, although the Honoree was a bitch to solo (he's an EB at that level). Even with my frankenslot build I gained another 3 vet levels yesterday and have 3 unlocked incarnates but I haven't crafted any yet as I'm still trying to (re)learn about them. I'm not sure which alpha to go with because I need +rchg but I want perma eclipse hopefully without the need for the alpha slot, so Ability is where my head is at right now. Perma-Clarion is also a goal, since getting mezzed in human right as Im trying to click is a common cause of death. I need to start working on my "grown up" build with +rchg bonuses to replace the current frankenslotting. I don't think I have the influence for purples but I need to learn about alternate ways to get them (merits?) and the Kheldian specific set. I also like the idea of examplaring gracefully as another post here uses. Back in the day, I had a human only WS that probably was more survivable (with the likes of weave and maneuvers and a bunch of set bonuses I had close to softcap defense in addition to all the tools in a perma eclipsed warshade) but this one if more fun/busy and the risk if faceplant ios what makes it so much sweeter when you pull it off (almost) every time. If I wanted to be safe, I'd play a tank.

Sad tale of the fledgling squid
Papaschtroumpf replied to Radamond's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
Go to Steel Canyon South and go to the University and run the which story arc there to learn how to make IOs (invention origin enhancements). You can buy the recipes from the crafting table and the salvage from the auction house (type /ah in the chat window to being it up, faster than physically going to a wenstworth location) 150K is not going to take you too far. You probably want to sell some of your salvage (click on salvage above your power tray) and recipes on the market to make more money. Also sell enhancements that drop from killing does to the proper origin store to also make some money. There are a couple of guides around here on how to get rich quick, but many of those worked best when they were a secret. Getting Merrits by visiting all badges in Atlas park and selling enhancement converters is probably a good way to get started. As to what to slot first, it somewhat depends on how you play and what your reputation is set to. Remember that when mired you hit better and harder. Since survivability is a concern here, slot resists in the dwarf, one acc one rechg in the dwarf heal, then some rchg in mires. Sorry it's just a little vague but there are many ways to do it each with their drawbacks and advantages. -

What section does it show under? I missed it when I looked last night, as stupid as that makes me feel -
Can you take TP pool now?
Papaschtroumpf replied to Papaschtroumpf's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
I still can't find it. Where does it show up in the Powers tab of my tray? -
It seems to load fine. I meant I couldn't load them at that moment because I was at work on break. I took a quick look last night and basically told Pine to automatically set all your IOs to 50 then opened the original build side by side and looked at some of the numbers. Mostly damage but also a little bit in rchg times. You really don't get that much of a boost between 30 and 50. It seems to be 3-5% in how much an attack does for example. So I can see why compromising to examplar better can be nice.

As inherent? Hmm I need to look at my power tray. That's great news! -
I miss the ability to TP friends on my WS. Pine's builder says you can't take the teleport pool and it sure used to be true but you had (shadow recall?) to TP friends. I haven't tried in game but I'm hoping it's now allowed? Otherwise I think there are temp powers?

Help with tri-form warshade build
Papaschtroumpf replied to brian9824's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
thanks for the answers. I should have been more clear about my KB protection question, mostly pointing out it could save a slot by putting the streadfast one in the unslotted resist power. -
I'm browsing the forums during my lunch break and can't load it it Pine's to see some or the totals or even really grasp the whole build (not so used ot the forum view) It seems most of your IOs are in the low 30s in order to examplar. Have you done an analysis of how much you lose by not going lvl50 or so IOs, in terms of DPS, def %, etc... when addded to your 5-slot philosophy I just wonder if the difference is in the noise (a few extra percents) or significant. Not saying it's a bad philosophy, just trying to measure/understand the tradeoffs. Do you get perma eclipse at 75% recharge? that's pretty awesome to get at lvl28! I have been playing around with trying to get both Rchg and Def bonuses, with Res provided by perma Eclipse, but I am intrigued by your concept.

I happened to get my hands on a level 37 Sudden Acceleration. Before I slot it, I want to make sure that it will still work when examplared? or will it oly work from lvl 34 and above? The first place to put it is Quasar I think, I can't control the KB as well as with my Nova, and in fact I'm not sure mire or stygian circle can reach the foes knocked the furthest back. Quasar is a good way to soften a group, but I'm past hte point where it can one-shot minions when most everything around me is purple, and I know how annoying it can be as a tank to gather mobs to have them immediatly tossed around.

The mid 20s can be tought, Nova is not quite sufficient to blast your way our of trouble, Dwarf isn;t fully developed and you are missing some utlity powers like Graviting Emanation or God powers like Eclipse. Based on th situation you describe I would have (double) mired, hit the lowest fow with Gravity well (it's OK damage), switched to Dwarf and smash it down (self heal if needed), then use the corpse for boom, nova and finish, or get fluffy and back to tank form. Yes, you need enhancements at lvl24, even if they are store bought SOs. I would craft/buy common lvl25 IOs and keep them maybe till you are ready for a final build. For myself, I bought lvl20 IOs at 17, then started frankenslotting with cheap set IOs around lvl 30 and plan to keep doing that to new slots till I get to 47 My best advice is keep at it, don't worry about debt, you're finally learning about using the AT rather than playing a repetitive zombie build. Use some inspirations to mitigate some of what you're missing. Slot your dwarf enough to at least be able to kill ONE MINION and provide that much needed corpse. two lsots inthe main smash (smite I think) and two in the self heal ar a good place to start (oh, and two resists in the form) you can also change your reputation to "team of 4 at -1 lvl", you get more foes and swquishier ones. When you're comfortable with that, up the count or the level (the count is probably the easier of hte two). Once you can solo 8x Even Level, see how 1x Even level feels (you don't want to only know how to play large anemic mobs), the see if you can solo +2, then any combo you want. At lvl 40 I was soloing 8x +1 until I strt running Cimerora radio missions and ate dust a bit too often. -
If I only care about getting tickets fast by running AE farming maps, does my level make me get tickets faster or does it only affect influence/farming speed? I have a claws/FA that does decent as long as I use lots of inspirations to boost damage and foes are mostly fire. If I use tickets to roll for procs, I'd rather he stays low level. Otherwise I mostly use him as a way to get the salvge I need while bypassing the AH He's kind of a specialized build so I have no interest about taking him out of the AE missions. I have more fun characters for that. Thoughts?
-
I find the Cimerora ITF to be a pretty good XP gain, but I think that starts at 35?
-
Someone remind me where you get I to the RWZ ship event and starting at what level?
-
Currently I do lvl 15 IOs in some powers, plus whatever drops, until lvl 30ish, then I switch to frankenslotting in the 30s, then will looking "end game" slotting after 47. I should run a similar analysis of whether I should in fact use SOs instead until 30.
-
Very nice. To make sure I understand, even at level, say 32, you are still equipping lvl25 IOs, not 35s in your new slots right? I tend to buy IOs of the current level so older powers have lower level IOs, but for the memorization badge and cost, it might make sense to stick with lvl25 and SO equivalent for most powers.
-
Thanks. I think with the Warshade I could live with enhancements in the two powers I can think off without terrible gimping. Something to look into. I can see why it wouldn't work on a PB.
-
Having played an energy blaster on Live back in the day, I am quite conscious of the time effect of knockback on teammates. As a blaster I hovered above the battle and as warshade Nova I do the same, although it's much harder to control quasar on more open environments. I think there is an enhancement that changed knockback to knockdown. If I slot it does it apply to all powers regardless of form, or only to the form (or power) it's slotted in? If one does it all I think it might be worth the improved quality of life.

Help with tri-form warshade build
Papaschtroumpf replied to brian9824's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
Do you also have "too much invisibility"? Superspeed has -perception on its own and so does shadow cloak, so when both are on you are invisible to all but a handful of does with high perception. Does that extra +stealth in superspeed makes you invisible to those? I though perception only stacked twice. -
Are the dwarf attacks worth slotting if you're not going for sets? At lvl 36 I have more or less ignored dwarf attacks. I think I have 2 or 3 slots in the mire (frankenslotted for Acc, rchg and endred) and 2 slots in the smite (also frankenslotted for Acc, rchg, endred) and 2 or 3 slots in the heal. I didn't look at the numbers in Pine, but it feels like they do so much less damage (I guess tanker level vs blaster level). I mostly use dwarf to soak up alpha and mire, or when things get dicey and I need to recover (res and healing if I don't have bodies yet). I have tanked a few times, and now with 3x res in the form I am resilient, but my focus then is on keeping agro and knocking the boss down, even with little damage. Once I get closer to 50 I can dual slots some powers that take regular IOs (e.g.hasten) and gain more slots, although I have been slotted human attacks pretty fully at 5 or 6 slots (corpse goes boom, quasar and of course fluffies)
