They just recently pushed out another content update that appears to add even more 'Dark Urge'-related endings. Pretty impressive for a title that came out over a year ago to still be getting updates and not just bug fixes.

Why I keep coming back to a 20-year-old game
Oz The Elderly Gaymer replied to FFFF's topic in General Discussion
Well... butts are important. -
It's interesting to me that this post was originally made the same year that Brightburn came out and The Boys began. In many ways, Westin Phipps/Haven House is classic COINTELPRO - you can read how <insert spy agency here> used front organizations and fake 'philanthropy' to infiltrate and interfere with populist movements all over the world. Arachnos setting Westin Phipps in place to play to part of the 'knight in shining armor and defender of the poor' of Grandeville so that an actual hero couldn't is, IMO, a rare example of a calculated evil - not just the mustache-twirling, over the top 'Mwah-ha-haa!' Evil (TM) stories we've come to expect. That Phipps actually enjoys crushing the hopes and dreams of the downtrodden in the most sadistic manner is just icing on the cake, as far as Arachnos is concerned. I mean, in addition to the dialog above, if you've successfully completed your mission to abduct Miss Francine and stop her rehab of the Freakshow, Mr. Phipps will say to you, 'Oh, poor little Francine Primm. I've got channels in Arachnos, I'm going to get every minute of her destruction recorded. Hmmm... I think I might even leak it out around the isles. Seeing the horrors visited on that girl should crush people's spirits all the more, and keep the next one like her away for some time.' That's DEFINITELY dark and Phipps DEFINITELY has no chill. And the other thing is - Phipps is saying that line to you. That means that you are complicit in crushing the hopes and dreams of the people of Grandeville, who are already living in horrible conditions (if they're not part of the Arachnos elite). You are sliding into Big Time Villany and by the time you've made it to Grandeville, you are now doing the Horrible and Terrible Things. Some people don't feel comfortable with that. Anyway, a rather cool (and disturbing) series of missions. I was impressed when I first played through it.

And the third actor who plays him - Hafthor J. Bjornsson - is an actual beast, standing at nearly 7 feet tall and weighs over 400 lbs. And his brothers are even bigger. The Bjornsson family has Jotun blood somewhere in their background. Here's a photo of him standing next to Lena Hadley (Cersei) who is by no means short herself.

This is great! My only advice? Keep drawing!

I really didn't even know that AI text RP was a thing. i mean, I've seen ChatGPT being used for things like song lyrics and whatnot. I guess that whether we even use AI tools or not depends on where our strengths are, so to speak. I'll be the first to admit it - give me a compelling character concept and I'll bury you under backstory, motivations, romance short stories, etc etc etc etc. So I wouldn't need an AI to generate backstory, but not everyone is prone to pages and pages of pseudoscience word spew like I am. If someone wants to use an AI tool to come up with a broad framework for a character's background, and then 'personalize' it to suit their tastes, I don't see the harm. Especially if the alternative is no backstory at all, IMO. Now, artwork? Yeah, I can't draw to save my life. Fortunately I've been able to build a small group of excellent artists that I've commissioned and maintained contact over the years. But I'm also privileged enough to be able to afford such a commission, since they can definitely get into the hundreds of dollars - something that a lot of people probably can't justify spending. I've used AI visual tools to generate images 'on the fly' for TTRPG game sessions I've run, and I think there's some real utility for those tools in that regard. Full disclosure - my pfp is, in fact, AI-generated. My go-to artist is currently recovering from Long Covid and my pfp commission is on indefinite hold.

I especially appreciate this response considering what we've seen with the backlash we've seen from a very specific demographic of 'fans' - the same demographic @Triumphant mentions above. The Acolyte's actress Amandla Stenberg and showrunner Leslye Headland can now join Kellie Marie Tran, John Boyega, and Moses Ingram in seeing just how fickle these 'fans' are, I'd say. As for The Acolyte not being renewed for season 2, that's unfortunate. I enjoyed the show for what it was - an attempt to tell a different sort of story in an Era we haven't seen in non-book form. But where the 'discourse' actually is now in Star Wars is minority actors/actresses having to report hundreds of threats to their person to the FBI.

Agatha All Along
Oz The Elderly Gaymer replied to ThaOGDreamWeaver's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
It's a rare example of dropping the viewer into the middle of a story that actually worked... with enough hooks and 'This is weird but I wanna see where this goes' to keep most viewers engaged until the questions started getting answers. -

Yep. The defense buffs are still worth it, imo. -

Wandavision was by far my favorite Marvel series since Endgame. And Kathryn Hahn totally rocked playing Agatha Harkness. I am... cautiously... optimistic. -

Hey now, don't you threaten me with a good time! -
Whenever I go into costume designer on my DP/MA Blaster, the dual pistols get reset from my selection to .44 magnums, with a charge for the change. Hitting the back arrow corrects the problem, if you're not paying attention, you will get charged for the change you didn't make.

Hey gang, just a reminder to include the descriptive text you used when creating your AI art. Trust and believe, that really helps.

More biography space, please
Oz The Elderly Gaymer replied to temnix's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Honestly, the bio section isn't going to be ideal for longer or in-depth bios. Trying to read a complex bio while in combat or as the originator bounds away just won't do. I would recommend https://fbsa.homecoming.wiki/wiki/Main_Page for your more in-depth bio needs. -
I see what you did there. And I approve.

That is so odd, since I never ran into that restriction when I was generating my dual-pistol Blaster. I even added 'Beretta 92FS' to my descriptive text and never got a warning at all. But since this technology is apparently... 'evolving'... in real-time, it seems likely that descriptors that are okay one day are suddenly not okay, the next.

CoH/V would be in my top 3 MMOs for RP-ability (ESO and TSW/SWL being the other two). I have split my time between in-game RP and Discord/Forum RP before, but not recently. I mean, players have designed entire bases as restaurants with 'first date' ambiance, or as nightclubs straight out of the Club 54 glam era. That's impressive as heck. I do think that casual RP has fallen off somewhat - more RP happens within RP-centric SGs than not. But the weekend dance parties are as awesome as ever!

Any free A.I. Art programs?

There are plenty of examples (and useful 'this is what I typed to get this result') in this thread-thingy here. -
General Chat is an open sewer.
Oz The Elderly Gaymer replied to Relvinian's topic in General Discussion
The Code of Conduct already bans extremist politics or religious views from being aired in public chats. But the 'policing' should come from the community. As I said, if the OP wants to block/report 'woke' chats, more power to them. -
General Chat is an open sewer.
Oz The Elderly Gaymer replied to Relvinian's topic in General Discussion
Ah, so criticisms of Christianity should be 'policed'. Because you are a Christian. Hmmm. How about... no? The others here have already offered excellent suggestions for resolving the personal issue that you are having. With actions you can take to block or report, if the offense is particularly egregious to you. In other words, the onus is on your shoulders to take action, not have the system passively support your religious worldview by suppressing others'. Whether you like it or not, there is just as much room in this online space for people critical of religion (in general) and/or Christianity (specifically) as there is room for the religious. That being said, the Code of Conduct is pretty clear: -

Oh I know. The pouches are just too distracting to me, and I never found anything similar.

So these prompts you've been adding have been so helpful! I really couldn't figure out the 'right words' until I saw your examples. So, here's some for my Praetorian Dual-wielding Blaster, Markus Magnum: Ironically, when Bing started adding suspenders instead of the armor-plated vest, I stared at the results, fanboi-shrieked 'OMG!' and ran off to replicate them. Unfortunately... no suspenders. Boo.
