Focused Feedback: Powerset - Dark Miasma
Electronuts replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
It's only mag 3, you don't get AVs with it. I'm not really sure what you get with it other than the cimerorans mess someone outlined above. It will very definitely be random. -
Focused Feedback: Powerset - Dark Miasma
Electronuts replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I don't think it's useful in hardly any scenario though. They have made it less irritating, but still of no use. Dark has loads of debuff and control and this just doesnt fit in. The scenario where you would like to intangible a few random enemies is so obscure they may as well replace it. It's like a booby trap for new players. If we can't get intangible removed, how about making it a toggle like dim shift. -
The change comes along with increased arc / radius and target cap on many powers, so it could have been intended as no overall impact, but as far as I can tell they have not stated the intented outcome on this one. I can see that sets like SS would be hit worse than others, as they dont gain from the increased radius and target cap, it is just a straight nerf across every power from a weaker Rage. It would be useful if all the changes had a little bit of commentary on what the intentions were.

Focused Feedback: Powerset - Dark Miasma

Would it perhaps be possible to at least reduce the intangible effect from 30 seconds to say 5 seconds, to make it more tolerable and a more useful power? Ideally, I think the intangible would be better replaced with a random teleport to the centre, so some are trawled and some moved instantly. That would blend the power with the usefullness of fold space or wormhole, whilst keeping it unique. Another alternative to the intangible effect might be to replace it with a -50% regen debuff, which syncs better with the other powers in the set, and as it would trigger on those who cannot be trawled, you always get something useful from it. This would solve the cimerorans scenario outlined above, where a power you might place in your rotation suddenly becomes not just completely useless, but a full on irritant. -

Thank you! There's been lots of emotive feedback here as the changes are big and everyone loves their characters, but I hope lots of people have said thank you. -
Focused Feedback: Powerset - Plant Control

I actually really like that you can drop vines and leave it doing something for the rest of the fight versus the old version (I agree you dont need it most of the time). With all the other plant stuff happenning, the old version didn't add much visually (unlike on Grav, where I really liked the animation of lifting a whole group in the air in one go). -

I can't say I had ever used the "excessive proc cascade" in the live version, but from a regular user point of view, I think this works fine now - all the creepers come out quickly and its much like it was before. -

I'm still not sure what I'm meant to do with this. I would expect to place it near me or the rangers for the heal buff, but now it taunts stuff so I tried opening with it in the spawn. It lasts a bit then dies, but it gathers some of them tighter together, which is maybe useful (lets pretend we dont all have fold space to do that). I tried not using it for a bit and concluded it makes no real difference and is just using up a needless space in my attack chain. Is it too late to try something completely different to try and make this more useful? Thematically I couldnt work out why a healing tree would taunt anything, so my thoughts are: - if its going to keep the taunt and therefore be placed away from me and other rangers inside a mob, change the regen buff to a regen debuff, with the new regen changes, this makes it useful to pull out for bosses and tougher mobs, also something poisionous taunting makes a bit more sense; - or, perhaps change it to a regen aura (just regen, not taunt 😁), so it doesnt take up space in the attack chain, if I could switch it on and forget about it, I think I would fit it in and becoming the healing tree myself is a bit cool. -

I like the new change as a compromise for solo play, but in reality its just presentational and on any team nothing has changed - its 90 seconds every group. Why not leave the target cap at 16 and fill in the hits above 10 with a sleep, like you have done on the new set? I know Hyp Lights has different ranges for confuse and sleep, but it gets 45 seconds recharge and a chunk of damage. Its a very strong control power, people will still play it, you dont need to destory plant to make us interested in it. -
Hypnotizing Lights Ranged (Cone), Foe Sleep, Foe Confuse (Within 20ft), Moderate DoT (Psionic) You conjure a whirl of lights with differing effects depending on the distance from which it is viewed. Most all targets within the area will be placed into a sleep like trance. Up to six enemies within 20 feet of the display are Confused and receive Psionic damage over time I note this is 45 seconds recharge and 16 target max. Just make absolutely sure you're not putting yourself in the position you are in now with plant, i.e. allowing people to invest hundreds of hours in a character only to have a core power slashed in usefulness. Why not make it 90 seconds and 10 cap like you've done with SoC and then buff it later when you have better data on how it's performing.

Focused Feedback: Powerset - Gravity Control
Electronuts replied to The Curator's topic in [Open Beta] Focused Feedback
I also hate Dim shift, it was always a mess and they just polished a turd. I like the new hold patch version of GDF, I wish the levitation effect would apply more consistently, some held foes still stay standing on the ground and in my view, seeing someone levitate off the floor is the coolest part of playing grav (then throwing a forklift truck at them). All the animations in grav still make it feel like you are playing in slow motion, that really needs looking at. -

Having tried it solo, this is a positive change. Its still a totally skippable power and made useless by fold space, but at least its less griefable to teams now. My only worry is that its trawl effect will encourage people who take it to try and use it in teams on every spawn and therefore having phased mobs left every group, leaving it back where it was of no team ever wanting it used. -

I've been trying to work out why on earth they would gut such a popular and well established set which people love to play. Why take away something everyone likes? Then I noticed: "Hypnotizing Lights Ranged (Cone), Foe Sleep, Foe Confuse (Within 20ft), Moderate DoT (Psionic) You conjure a whirl of lights with differing effects depending on the distance from which it is viewed. Most all targets within the area will be placed into a sleep like trance. Up to six enemies within 20 feet of the display are Confused and receive Psionic damage over time." This is a 45 second recharge, 16 target max, aoe confuse/sleep. So if they dont nerf plant, no one will play their new set, as sleep is still a bit shite and plant will be better. I just dont think this is the right way to go about doing things. -

When playing a new character with DXP on, influence is usually in short supply, so I sell everything I get, instead of turning the drops off. As a small QoL feature, it would be usefull if there was an option at vendors to sell all common salvage/enhancements/recipes etc in one click, to speed up the clear out after a few missions. It would also be useful to have a single button to move all your common items to the AH in one go too, instead of one by one, choosing a single price to set for the whole lot i.e. a "quick sell" option.

Thanks, yes I'm at the very bottom of the plot. Will try moving it somewhere else.

Here are a few screenshots of my Excelsior Lab 63 base. Its inspired by lots of others, not least pocket Z on TB. I had most of it completed a while ago, but just added a Villa level. SG enterbasefrompasscode Lab63-7550
