  1. It is a themed character. Synergy had nothing to do with the decision to go FF though saying they have no synergy is a stretch, Dispersion, Dampening, Repulsion, Personal FF and Force Bomb give decent synergy to any controller primary. Also any combo should work well otherwise the choices we are given is pointless. Of course this could be solved of the two buffs that do the same thing just for different defences would be merged and we would get something that is not lazy design. I can still get power boost on this character. Not sure why I should care about Soul Drain.
  2. Alright so with a Grav/Time at 50 and a MC/FF at 34 I am a little underwhelmed with FF from a practical perspective, even though I like FF thematically. I understand that FF is more defensive oriented than Time but I do not see what FF does better than Time apart from Repulsion Field. Getting defense up via Farsight is not as good as the defense buffs + Dispersion Bubble but that gets easily equalized by the fact that many builds can hit soft caps or close to even without team buffs plus FF has no healing and offers no damage or recharge, both of which Time offers quite a bit of. Time also has incredible CC on top of that. Plus Farsight also buffs to hit. Don't get me wrong I like FF, it is hilarious how you can just casually walk up to enemies and move them around like they are nothing but for practical purposes overall Time just outclasses FF imho. Even worse, apart from Temporal Selection all buffs work on you and give you substantial benefits. The two best buffs FF offers are not available to you. In summary, Time offers better CC, better offensive buffs, team healing, about equal with defensive buffs/debuffs and all FF does better is buff defence for the team, Time is even better at buffing your personal defence because Farsight has better defence values than DB and buffs your offense and perception on top of that. Am I just overlooking something maybe?

  4. Mass Hilarity is my favourite T9 from Controller and Dominator primaries. Who needs a pet when you can have an army? 😁
  5. Sounds good, will make one of that as well. I am thinking of getting a controller for every primary. Not sure if I want more with different secondaries. Don't think they would differ sufficiently enough. Anyone got experience with Elec controller? I had one with me yesterday and he said that his damage was worse than my 30 MC troller despite him being a high level veteran level character. Is Elec/Elec that bad?
  6. Well, I started a Mind/FF controller because MC is so much fun on my Dom but I have a hard time getting into Dom At, I like controller better. Earth is next on my list, then Plant.

  8. As the title suggest, I am merely wondering if there are some more experienced players who can give me some pointers with this alt. The base concept is inspired by the Marvel character Emma Frost though with some obvious changes due to how powers work in this game and a very different backstory. My main question would be what powers I can skip in my primary and secondary to make room for some powers from the pools and epic pool. I want to go Fighting pool for Tough and Weave. As to epic pool I am thinking of getting all but 1 ability, skipping Mind Probe though maybe I can drop another ability from PSI epic pool. If I get all abilities from both masteries I would be done at this point but I ponder to squeeze in Stealth and Grant Invis since the Marvel character could cloak herself and others though it was more limited in the comics but whatever it would be close enough. I am also thinking of getting Weaken Resolve to help with highly PSI resistant enemies though I am unsure if it is worth a slot just for that or if there are maybe better ways to help with that. I am not convinced getting Cross Punch would help against resistant enemies. Of course if I go Weaken Resolve there might also be the option to go for Unleash Will which might enable me to drop Fighting if I could perma it though I do not think that it is possible.

  10. As the title suggest, I am interested in making my Grav/Time/Primal controller very sturdy. So far with Hover, Maneuvers, Power Boost+Farsight I can up all my defences except Toxic, which is at a meager 7%, to 35% against ranged and 32% for the rest. I have 47% S/L resistance from Temp Invul. Set wise so far I only have 6 slotted my Gravity Distortion with Will of the controller. As for incarnates I am running Agility in my Alpha slot atm because endurance is an issue for now. I just want some pointers as to where I can get more def from and maybe up my resistances but I am unsure what enhancements and incarnates are advisable here.
  11. Right so my Stalker who is almost 40 now has only a few choices left for her build. Currently I am pondering if the chain of Mass Levitate -> Explosive Shuriken -> Wall of Force would be able to generate enough AoE damage to be worthwhile taking Explosive Shuriken and Wall of Force. I already have Weaken, Project Will and Unleash Potential in conjunction with Physical Perfection and Web Grenade. I want for sure the Targeting Drone so that will leave me with only 3 abilites to take which means taking both ES and WoF is kinda "expensive" at that point and I do not want to burn too many free respecs on trying out if this combo will work well enough or not. Anyone tried this in some form? I never had Explosive Shuriken and I do know that Wall of Force is not exactly a high damage ability so I am unsure if this would be worthwhile to take.

Hello, I want to get another controller since it is my favorite archetype but I would like to use a primary set that is substantially different from the ones I already have, My main is a Grav/Time controller and got a second one with Illusion/Storm. I also have a Dominator with Mind Control/Energy since I was curious how different they feel compared to controller. So that begs the question, which of the sets is markedly different from the 3 ones I have.
  16. Sure but they offer no other CC while Singy lifts, roots and holds. In fact it spams Crush so much it can root some elite bosses at least. Have not tried with AVs so I would not know about that.
  17. I love my Singularity and I am readily to admit that I am indeed totally biased in thinking it is the best pet.
  18. So my Blaster is level 26 and finally got Overcharge which is a total joy both gameplay wise and visually. At the moment I am going for this power selection, not worrying about slotting for the moment since I will save up a few of my respecs to experiment later in late 40s and at 50. 1 Ki Push 2 Charged Shot 3 Cutting Beam 4 Storm Kick 5 Infiltration or Stealth 6 Burst of Speed 7 Dragon Tail 8 Disintegrate 9 Boxing 10 Tough 11 Weave 12 Lancer Shot 13 Penetrating Ray 14 Piercing Ray 15 Overcharge 16 Reaction Time 17 Reach for the Limit 18 Inner Will 19 Body Armor 20 Eagles Claw 21 Surveillance 22 Manoeuvres 23 Tactics 24 ?
  19. I love all the kick powers and use them a lot. I want to use this character quite a bit in melee though not to the same extent as a scrapper.
  20. As the title says I am looking for some input about Beam/MA blaster on whom I have a blast, pun intended. The character is inspired by a comic character, though won't be a carbon copy, and apart from those two I want to incorporate from the power pools and epic pool: Concealment: Infiltration, Stealth, not sure if the other powers are worthwhile Fighting: Boxing, Tough, Weave Munitions: Body Armor, Surveilance, LMR, maybe Sleep or Cryo though unsure if they even have a niche or occasional use Leadership: Assault, Maneuevers, maybe Tactics Question is what can I safely skip. So far first power in Beam and Throw Sand from MA seem to be likely choices. I am a little unsure about Aim, is the accuracy boost neccessary? Damage boost seems to be rather small and those buffs tend to have a bad uptime even with a lot of recharge. I am really unsure about MA powers Reach for the Limit, Reaction Time and Inner Will. How worthwhile are they? Reaction Time would be thematically fitting for sure but the description leaves me a but puzzled how effective it is. Overall the theme I am going for, kinda cybernetic special forces team leader, is the most important to me, even if the powers might be not the best fit for blaster.
  21. Nice build and seems to work very well. Gets me some ideas for my own Grav/Time build.
