  1. at the risk of seeming redundant. pull. eat a med purple joust into view ST nearest guy, run back. 1 spawn pulled. although my Fire3 blaster would just roll into it and start nuking and dropping rains. F them all. (yes, at +4) just dead burnt bodies.
  2. If I was solo with 3 spawns (or 4) in a maze like area. (say the office bldg S corner with side room spawns....) you can pull. depending on powersets. With Fire3 I might actually wade in. You can kill 2 full spawns and the room might not notice! But with Dark probably pull. That gets you one group. Then charge the 2nd group, but not near enough the room group sees you. Generous inspiration use and a can do attitude!
  3. *coughs. I have most of the maps and spawn points memorized.... Also, the mobs that see thru stealth. And a lot of other minutae in game. It is most exciting for me when a team (usually running at +4) gets overwhelmed. sometimes I die, but i am danged good at getting back up. When it is over more often than not it is my Blaster and 1-2 teammates left standing over a quiet field of bodies. Good times.
  4. I play Blasters way more aggressively than that. I am definitely not perfect. But I am pretty good at looking at a mission/TF and seeing the mobs/levels and saying... "I can kill you all if I use XYZ tactics, but probably not YZX tactics" then i wade in...
  5. When you combine Oppressive Gloom mag 2 area stun with Blaster's native Darkness Manipulation "Dark Pit" mag 2 area stun... you get a mag 4. Toss the Dark Pit (ranged) wander in with oppressive gloom and Aim/Soul Drain/Nuke/get the hell out and start the cone barrage.
  6. i would run with something like: 1) Murky Cloud (no change) 2) Fearsome Stare (no change) 3) Oppressive Gloom (Soul Mastery has it, balanced for Blasters), it is thematic and in other Dark Mastery sets for other ATs 4) Night Fall (a cone DoT, foe -acc) almost every other Blaster epic/ancillary has more AoE than Dark. 5) Soul Transfer, as per Dark Brute, mirroring the option of Rise of the Pheonix in slot 5 for Fire Mastery. and, of course, I would take all 5 on my signature Dark Dark Nosferatu Blaster.

  8. I like this because it “idiot proofs” the problem. It doesn’t moron proof it. Some moron could go to Null, switch it on, and still complain about another player using group fly. But it would solve 99% problems
  9. yes, i would assume the smart way to code it would have a "shadow version" null could turn on that affects just yourself and your pets.

  11. I knew a long time player with a Pvp strategy. He set up two accts. One killed the other. All. Night Long. Every night. For years. The PvP I/O drops made him ludicrously rich. There is a story from live about a MM who had a murder trap set up. He intentionally griefed other players, supposedly to write a paper about it. Did it for quite a while. I have had decent luck badging PvP zones on Excelsior. But if you bring teams in to badge RV with all (the many) badges that take a long time, expect an opposite team of folks to arrive. Best then to have a "hit team" in your league of real Pvpers who fly cover for non Pvpers

  13. dude, this was epic. The most fun on the forums in two weeks. We have all done stupid, immoral, and possibly illegal acts that we later regretted ... getting caught for. But we can look back at the good times and enjoy the memories.

  17. this is way more true on Homecoming than on live. i rarely have an issue on homecoming after i communicate my intent. i might get blindsided at first though lol
  18. we agree. and you obviously, like me, do not kick peeps from TF. i feel kind of bad for people who "play weird' or "can't find the team" but i try to help them a little, and mostly keep the ball marching towards the end zone. definitey not kicking though. but if it is so important to a leader that they kick, i see your point, they should tell everyone up front and ask.
  19. I have led many a TF. Some a VERY hard to get 8 together for. You take 8 and hope 3-4 of them help you carry the ball across the finish line. I do not "vet" anyone.
  20. We have Psychic powers in game. I have a Mental/Psi Blaster I just 50d. But seriously. A new player cannot know these things. But if asked to stop using it in a Task Force that is a good indication something is up... I will go a step further. I was not there. The team lead could have been the dick. The booting could have been pretty much wrongly executed. Still.... after 16 pages of "maybe you should rethink this" the OP wants to make the issue anyone but theirs. Says something, dont ya think?
  21. bwah hah hah. Lotsa luck! I HATE PvP. Hate. And i know a little something about hate. Redsiders have always needed to hit PvP maps for accolade badges. The Devs wanted to make sure their "heroes" had plenty of fresh meat whether redsiders wanted to pvp or not. . What gigantic A-holes. (The size of Mason Jars!)

  24. It is a deep pool with a lot of wading area. There are badges and accomplishments in the "zone" There are great rewards to be farmed. There is a LOT of confusion (designed that way) because it is a "maze" and is not intuitive. I know almost nothing about it other than what I just said. I join a league, usually Goddess' on Excelsior. I TP to a non Tank (you TP to a Tank or Brute, you die I have learned) I kill the things that boost league power. We kill Minotaur. Sometimes i get location badges. Once we fought another thing that gave great rewards. There are badges for killing X of Y in zone.
