I agree with myself. Also, Brute ATOs are an even more wasted opportunity than PvP Sniper set with it’s insta snipe i/o. And that is saying something

there is a glaring issue here. this is like writing up a discussion aimed at people who cannot read/ why can't they read, do they want to read, the benefits of reading. then handing it out on the street to convince people to read. everyone on the forums (except for a few griefing murder hobos) agree with the concept and protocol of being good teammates/fellow players. a lot of people on "New Freedumb" err Excelsior have no idea they should wait for anyone or that anyone wants this thing. mostly because, like not reading the forums, they are not observant of chat. They have music going, a dog barking, a TV playing, shoving food in nutrient hole, etc...

Stories like this are why Blasters are more fun for experienced players and frustrating for newer players. Most vets have not only the maps memorized but the vast majority of mobs and their whole game plan. Therefore having huge armor and mez protection (and it would be nice) is a luxury given up for the power to blast them all to oblivion. But even for a vet it is dicey. On my new 50 AR/Dev yesterday i must have died 10 times. But i ran two ITF +4 kill alls, a speed LRSF, a speed MLTF, aTinMage, aTPN, and a Aeon. I play aggressively and do not build for full damage mitigation. I built for +dam, +range, recharge, and a medium amount 30% of ranged defense. In that priority order. It is just a chattering machine gun until they plant me or lie quietly still the way they are supposed to.

There is a suppress particle effects. I used it once in RWZ ship raid. I di not remember the command but it cleared a lot away.

in game displays for attuned enhancers are showing sets that are 10-20, 10-30, leveling with toon up to 50 and showing level 50 enhancer values... is this a new thing? is it true?

I have rub a LOT of solo projects. It is unfathomable how much time i spent running Brutes through content. I have tried everything. Well, not Defenders, Widows, or Khelds. But you get the gist. Now my most recent project I have been badging on. And just wanting to knock out the arcs to get the badge. I have found some unique powers I had not realized synergized so well. The AR/Dev Blaster. It has standard Blaster powers. Everyone has a different preference for Primary blast sets. 2 things to point out is 1) fully ranged 2) the improved arc on Full Auto allows for the coverage needed. But Devices. Wow. There are some great utility powers and the fortifications of caltrops and mines. But the standouts for soloing are Smoke Grenade and Gun Drone. Smoke ‘nade allows you to stealth a glowie without fighting. Every glowie. Gun Drone is attacked before you by everyone. And it is sturdy. Carrying a pocket Tank and having unbroken stealth? Sure makes solos easy.

Here is my favorite AR Dev build. it sacrifices some ranged defense.,..for more range lol. and damage. also, you can throw a smoke grenade over 100' with this build to tohit debuff a group. Blaster - AR Dev Range Dam 3.02.mxd

More and more common with the (disclaimer, i am glad for new players) influx of players. My favorite was a recent advertisement for a BAF badge run about a week ago. The League fills and the leader says “does anyone know how to badge this, i have not done it before”….

i *think this is true. Also, is someone uses an AoE phase shift power you can phase in and attack them. Not sure how wise that is. The carnie bosses phase in/out and not sure if it is the same mechanic.

I wanted a certain badge (ghost widow) and so joined a team last night. Ad was “chill run full arc”. Gathered a team of 8. It was +2. On nearly every map the team split. It was, in my opinion, anything but chill. I never said a word and did what i could to help. When i wasnt face planted. AR Blaster sidekick. Maybe people think this is “chill”. In my opinion they have not experienced 1) a speed team 2) a team that can actually clean a map quickly. This was a brutal slog through Longbow, Carnies, and Crey. On a team with all the cohesion of a hamburger thrown out a car window at freeway speed.

Phase Shift and powers like it are oddball CoH. It is a normal power and to use it you must be free from mez. Although if immob you can hit it. In phase shift only others also phase shifted can attack you. Very very very rare. I cannot recall this ever happening. It is the ultimate “get out of jail free” card however. Enemies that see through stealth (rikti, rularuu, nemesis, etc) will see a stealther and flatten it. But a phase shift (while still visible) will ignore their attacks. Until your 30 sec timer runs out. It is best used in this mode to barrel through really tough maps as fast as possible. Keep in mind at the end of 30 secs you may have agro. Be ready to come out swinging… or in the case of my elec Blaster maybe Nuke and use ANOTHER type of invulnerability power lol.

With a melee toon it depends largely on what native (if any) defense it has. Then there are oddballs like resistance armor sets. Little to no defense and no defense debuff resistance. On a Dark Armor i build for near perfect resistance and ignore defenses. Then use non suppressed stealth, fear aura, stun aura to create a “faux defense”. The strategy for what to build is as varied as the player and AT/Primary/Secondary. Some Blappers build S/L defenses. For the same reason melee does. A lot of attacks in CoH have a S/L component and therefore will check vs this. My Fire/Fire Blaster did not ignore defenses but did not prioritize them in the build. Instead building for MORE upfront damage. When stuff is dead your defense is near perfect. Also, his combat Rez makes that playstyle highly forgiving.

Yeah. Fire Corr. I have not used rad but take a look at Dark. Very powerful on Corr. Three Fire/Dark Corr would be vicious

yeah, i finally did see that (1st time today!0 and i was on a team getting Ghost Widow badge lol. 785 badges at level 30, and i have not started Invention or Flashback yet!
