  1. PS - buy my Performance Shifters and my Panaceas.
  2. The economy is fine. Nobody NEEDS to do all those things... it's just that we're always so happy to see new faces (SO MANY new faces, now!) and we want people to prosper, so everyone's got their ONE STUPID TRICK (Arachnos hates them!) to instant riches and wants to share that trick with all the new folks so they can be rich and buy my Performance Shifters and my Panaceas.
  3. Dinosaur mastermind. Compys, Utahraptors, and a Triceratops.
  4. ...and the price to return your main will be... ONE MILLION DOLLARS!
  5. For me, it's a "safe space" where I can interact with people who accept me at face value, hanging out with Crystal Dragon and Bearserker and Roz and all the other chuckleheads on Everlasting. A place I can decompress after a long day of teaching, and a long commute home. And we beat up fascists and space aliens, too.
  6. In other places HC Devs have said that being able to 'revoke' slottable powers is something they don't want to do, because it would irrevocably delete whatever you had slotted there at the time. While a wise player would use Unslotters to make sure nothing of value is lost, I wouldn't want to be a GM answering request after request from players who have accidentally deleted millions worth of enhancers (especially since the answer would basically be "Too bad, so sad").

    Viewport?

Thanks, yeah, I saw further down some folks trying to use dual monitors as well. I guess I'll just have to write a toggle macro to flip between "Lots of crap on the screen" and "Minimalist Mode".
  8. I'm often on Atlas Foot Duty, and conversations often turn to "I wonder how long before that guy gets Generic'ed?"
  9. Heck yeah! On my grav/kin I have a macro handy for "teleport straight back max distance" in case I'm in over my head. Pop out, catch my breath, pop back in.
  10. Healers?
  11. Is the viewport its' own window? If so, how can I control it? More details: I have a two-monitor setup. I'd like to clean up my screen some, but don't want to sacrifice my chat windows or the map. Is there a way I can put the viewport on one monitor, and put all the ancillary stuff off to the side?
  12. One caveat: unless they changed it recently, teleporting mobs puts a debuff on them that prevents another teleport, so unfortunately you can't do shenanigans like chain-teleporting mobs across a map. Alas.
  13. I seem to recall Homecoming was working on some stuff for KW. Dunno whatever happened to those plans. If *I* were to decide what to do with it, I'd make it the new "default" starter zone, a combined Hero/Villain zone (no PvP tho) used before moving out to Mercy or AP. Could be used for low level RP, for combined groups doing DfB, DiB, and/or SBB, and such. Hanging out around the Statesman statue would be the new standing-under-Atlas'-statue. But really, such a thing would need to be built-to-purpose from the ground up.
  14. There's other fun interactions between teleports and Singularities. Because Singularities will pull *upwards*, you can deposit Fold Space/Wormhole/Shadow Slip victims in the air, and a Singularity above will slow their plummet to the ground as it tries to hoover them all up. And, of course, there's the Wormhole favourite of putting the "output" side of the wormhole a hundred meters straight up...
  15. That last one has the look of a Banished Pantheon shaman!
  16. As far as controlling where your Singularity pulls people to, you can always use the teleport-friend power from the Teleport pool to put your Sing exactly where you want it. Sure, it'll move from there to follow you, but til then you've got *some* control.
  17. So very, very different. Back then, proper slotting was only a vague idea in my mind. I mean, I understood the changes once the diminishing returns system went in but didn't delve too deeply into how things worked. IOs weren't a thing, then, nor were set bonuses and stuff. Just TOs, DOs, and SOs. Even if they were, I was living paycheck to paycheck in terms of INF income. Now? I have a much firmer grip on the enhancement system, I have access to IOs and to sets, and I have very deep pockets to fund that stuff. The result is that my characters are much more efficient now than they were then; sure, I could jump my Inv/SS tanker into a large group during street sweeping and survive... now I can tank enormous groups of Rikti on the MSR no sweat. Speaking of the MSR... back then, I was very reticent to join groups. I was in the Legion of Valor SG, but didn't interact with them much. It was one of those "Someone saw me in AP without a SG and invited me" things. I would join a PUG from time to time, but *never* for endgame content. I didn't feel ready for prime time. I never participated in a raid until Homecoming, when Marijuanaut was recruiting for an MSR; he was a great raid leader and made it very easy to follow. Not too long after I joined my first Hamidon raid under Veracor - again, very good lead, very easy to follow. I've led some MSRs myself since then, though not recently. My fear of endgame content is much lessened thanks to M and V - and thanks to the previous point about enhancements, as I feel like I'm less of a liability to the group.
  18. My last one for now, Tempest Girl, storm/electrical defender: She's a bit of a grouch tonight. cel shaded, style of artstation, superhero, character design, character turnaround, young caucasian woman, blonde hair in a wedge cut, black goggles on forehead, wearing a cyan and black costume, black lightning bolt insignia, dark cyan lightning bolt designs down her legs, dark cyan belt, black knee length boots, dark cyan elbow length gloves, black mask, surrounded by cyan lightning bolt aura The generator didn't turn out anything exactly like my kind of minimalist costume approach, but what it did create I really liked: ...which led me to redesign her ingame uniform to... ...and probably will change some of her other slots to looks inspired by this generation, too.
  19. Next up, tech fire/kinetics controller Firebreak, again using Microsoft's generator. cel shaded, style of artstation, superhero, character design, character turnaround, woman wearing bright red power armor, full face helmet with golden visor, black flame motifs on armor, wearing red jetboots, red jetpack, shooting flames from her palms Not sure about the red high-top sneakers though 😄 😄 Everything else turned out pretty nice! I'm quite surprised how close to COH designs even minimal prompts can create.
  20. Used Microsoft's generator to create my SS/Inv Brute, Galataea. cel shaded, style of artstation, city of heroes, background constrained in a circle, superhero, character design, character turnaround. muscular caucasian woman, brown hair in a bun, wearing golden laurel, navy blue and white bodysuit, golden shoulderpads, golden belt, red diamond insignia, wearing white wristbands, glowing white eyes It didn't attempt a character turnaround this time. I wonder whether it's because of the background keywords I used? (Tries without them... nope, that ain't it, it's still hit-or-miss on whether it uses those. Another attempt did use them.) All in all, I think the results came out nice, though I ain't so sure about the butt-cover on the second one!
  21. This blows out peoples' eardrums when you Speed Boost a League.
  22. On a whim I added "character turnaround, character design" to my Doctor Orangutan prompt above, using Microsoft's generator again, and got this:
  23. Pardon my French, but... hot damn.
  24. Some parsers don't honor "full body" - it's why I usually put in Full Body and Wide Angle. Sometimes describing the boots helps. At one point I hit a seed at home that spat out "character design" type results with a front, side, and back results. Stupidly I did not write it down.
  25. It's... not to my liking. I stay more towards the cel-shaded comic-book-y look to try and dodge the uncanny valley. I fed it the following prompt: caucasian woman superhero, wearing a charcoal and hot pink bodysuit, short spiked hot pink hair, glowing purple eyes, wearing heavy charcoal grey elbow length gloves, wearing charcoal heavy knee length boots, full body, wide angle The default model... ...looks like the cover to a low budget sci fi harem novel. The 'realcartoon' model was closer: ...this thing sure likes spikes. It's got a lot more models to tinker with - the 3d model one is a checkpoint I think I have at home:
