  1. I really dont have a problem with the current Vet rewards system, I actually hardly use the Emp merits, I do use some of the threads but I also generally have a nice pool of extras. I just find it easier to unlock incarnate powers by actually grinding the salvage out of an arc, instead of buying it with Emp's.

To be frank, the game needs to be made longer.  Double XP works great for us veterans who have played the game for years, but it has done a lot of harm to the game for newbies.  There are a lot, and I do mean a lot, of new players to the game over the past year with level 50 characters (multiple even), who between AE and double XP legitimately have no idea how to play the game.  I have had to kick more attempted door sitters from my Task Forces and Strike Forces (especially ITF) over the past year than I ever recall having to do in seven years of playing live.  Heck, I had to do it just last night.  They think because they can be carried to level 50 in an AE farm by one Brute or Tanker, that they can be freely carried in anything as long as there is at least one level 50 on the team.  Then once they do get to level 50, all they know is what they learned in AE farms.  It's double XP which enables that.

I also agree that Powerleveling is out of hand. ANd most of the new players haven't learned to play their characters. In my personal opinion AE should have double influence, and higher rate of "good drops" but absolutely NO XP. I have no problem with it fueling the economy but it makes 7 out of 8 players lazy...

I've not heard of this one either, going to have to find it!

You dont have to "glitch" your way in like the old days, if you enter the arena and stay on the first floor and go directly back to the doors on the inner wall they should let you into the room.

  3. Kallisti has a copy of the roof top park.

    To add to this list:

The Tower in Statesman Plaza can be entered from one door.

    Universities

There is a couple ships out in the ocean in Talos

St. Martial has a couple enter-able buildings

    Police stations

Magic stores, other stores too I guess but they are kinda lame in comparison.

The "matrix" room, it is accessible from the arena in PI

Any PvP zone, if you are looking for some flair, The hotdog stand in Sirens can be an interesting hangout.

A handful of zones have basketball courts, some have mobs some do not.

Null the Gull can transport you to a few enemy free instances.

and lastly the Loyalist Lounge in Nova Praetoria, although there are entrance limitations.

At least redside, I have noticed which Broker I am assigned depends on how I enter the zone the very first time.

It seems to pick the broker closest to that entrance.

If I enter Cap South for the FIRST time I enter the zone, I get Desdemona the Glint.

If I enter Cap North for the FIRST time I enter the zone, I get Boris the Russian.

    Every time.

I suspect there's something similar for all zones.  Whether you enter by Tram or by Base Porter or by Street connection, etc.

I believe blue side it might be Origin related, as all my Magic characters have the same, But they are different from either Mutant or Tech characters.

  5. I can't say I've ever used those boots personally, I just don't really like the look. Winged boots might have been designed with this effect. If you look at comparable boots of the same time period most had an effect to go with their theme. Piston Boots make a small effect when landing from a jump, Rocket boots, have rocket effects for flyers. It would make sense that these boots had an effect for runners.

Is the effect there on the male model too? But I'd be willing to guess that these are probably working as intended.

... I think I got through the first attack. Wasn't it G Gundam that had someone with a shining finger or some such? Something about burning sensations?

Years ago for a brief time I had Domon yelling "Shining Burning Finger" as my text message sound on my phone, couldn't take it for more then 2 weeks...

Currently the IOs add a separate chance to KD,  which if proc'd can stack with the Power's KD turning it into KB, but I wish it just increased the Power's chance to KD instead as in a straight forward addition of the chance percentages giving players more reliable KD without adding undesired KB

they are working on this they just recently implemented code for vector based "knocking" so yes at some point in the future it will be come "knock mag X direction" but you must be patient, but from what I am to understand this is coming in the future

    Nobody is forced to vote.

I agree there might should be a 'no change' vote but its not like this is 'what are the devs doing next' this is simply 'what kind of taunt might work best for sentinels'.

oh I know, I didn't vote, but I'm one of those "statistics" people and if you only post options "for" something it gives a skewed perception of where the community actually stands. And I'm not going to predict or presume how a vote with both a pro and a con would turn out but, if the cons would normally have 90% and you only give pro options, then you are kind of trying to mute the opposition.

And it's certainly easier to pair up with an Aim/Gaussian's Proc to make sure that first hard tick gets extra use when I hop into a crowd and pop Burn.

This is probably the single best argument to keep it as is, so you can make better use of DAM amplification powers like BU/AIM and BU procs.

Posting this again as I did not get any responses to it.

I think I have just the condition! Afterburner is supposed to be active while moving and flying. so? the player should have to 1: not be held or immobilized, 2: have moved with flight/hover and afterburner active recently.

While not moving we could drop the base to +1.5% or 2.28% def all, then if the player has moved or is moving, have the base jump to +10% def all base and last for the duration of an average click type power from the end of flying movement before dropping back down to 1.5 or 2.28. so that way, if you are just sitting in a large group trying to farm, after like 180 seconds your def will drop around 7% or more. gotta keep moving to keep it active. could also make a minimum movement time to reactivate the full 10% like, have to be moving for 10 seconds to get the full base or have to move #distance (feet or meters) in one consecutive motion.

This would be valid. at least I think so, it wouldn't effect people who use it for travel protection as they will still get the full amount cause they are moving, yet it will supply "Something" in battle rather than preventing you from attacking.

    what does everyone think?

I think you are just making it more complicated then it needs to be. Status quo seems to work fine, until now, I've never really noticed anyone saying afterburner isn't good enough... As it is I can take it or leave it, and I would rather it not become a "must have" power like some people think Hasten to be.

I wish ninja run/beast run could be separated into a 0 end stance toggle & an unenhanceble run toggle

so basically you want a walk clone toggle without the -speed, but with ninja/beast run...

So, you have to choose 2 powers in the flight pool to learn that while afterburner is on, you cannot attack other targets.... I'd be happy if we just reduced the +def output and made it so it can be used in battle. I mean whats the purpose of a power you can;t use in battle that applies + def?

This power needs to be fixed, please.

before that though, is there anyone out there that actually uses it? why and what for? I suppose it could be good for a mastermind who lets his pets do 100% of the fighting. please enlighten me on if it's valid and how. thanks.

I was pretty sure that it mentions the "only affect self" in the description. And I also thought it was pretty widely know...

I'm fine with Afterburner the way it is.

Though on second thought, if it could boost flight speed of hover that would be nice, so it could be toggled on once and a while for quick repositioning...

  13. Meh, I can see why it was weighted. I dont care either way. Odds are you get more out of it with 2/3rds of the damage up front though. As long as you aren't asking for more damage or quicker recharge, I'm not against it. You could put 99% of the damage on the last tick for all I care. I mean that would suck, but it would amuse me.

  14. I like the original Idea, also for the side discussion, the Rikti ground invasion happens AFTER the ships and bomb phase, and if you are moving your basically wont get spawned on. you have to stand still or be in a large team. Next time you are in a zone that is having an invasion just broadcast to join the league that inevitably forms. You'll find your spawns (and badges) that way for sure.

    Huh. Interesting. Thanks!

Is this one of the things that have been changed in the new game client, or did I just somehow never realize (or have forgotten) that the original game was always like this?

This is amusing that no one here has fully put 2 and 2 together for you. If you are logging out in a Day Job location you will exit instantly. There is a small handful of other places that have a super short log out time like 5 seconds. But I also think the old standard 30 was reduced to 15 as well.
