Hero - Stupid Hero who blindly wants to do everything by the book and live up ideals of justice, peace, & love. While "Knocking out" Bad Guys and taking them jail. So they hopefully repent and become a better member to society, but end up getting beat up by hero again. Kind of makes you think it's some kind of racket for the hero honestly. Vigilant - Someone actually understands how humans work, we are imperfect shit birds. Hit's us where it actually hurts. Our wallets, assets, lives, power, etc... This may cause a cycle, but unlike the Hero is willing to end that cycle on a permanent side of things. Rogue - Basically same as Vigilante, with a more selfish street. Villain - Honestly our current society. Selfish, morons, blind to WTF really going on around them, or the ones causing shit going on around them, willing to destroy their own self interests so they can say they won, then realize they didn't really win anything and they are more pissed off again and blames everyone else around them and continues the same self defeating shit over again. Thus I prefer Vigilante/Rogue for my choice. But the Hero/Villain powers you get are really good compared to other two.

My top 5 CoH Annoyances. 1. The Magically Vanishing Mouse Cursor -- That bug been around since early days of live. Never gotten fixed. 2. Patrol Missions from contacts. Terrible way to make a team quit, when you get slew of Patrol Missions blockading your door missions. I honestly feel they need to remove all Patrol Missions from each contact in each zone and set up a Patrol Specific Contact in those zone with them. I know that's a lot work, but man that would save issues and be far smoother run. 3. Specific Members of our Player base: Mostly folks who join and stand around thinking your a Farm even when you say your a mission team or those who run off solo on a team. Like honestly if you want to solo, go solo. My teams or teams in general(less said in advance) are there to be a TEAM. 4. People inability to learn and expand their information of the game and what else there is, besides ROFL FACEROLL BLUE/FARMS -- Play as you want, but it's these folks then who bitch, piss, and moan about not enough stuff to do, or it's easy, or don't know their own feet from their own mouth. 5. Secret Stealth Buffs of specific mobs or published buffs to mobs. Listen, I get your trying modernize the game and maybe bring in newer faces. But realistically it's mostly going be older faces coming and staying for any length of time. A lot of us are 20 years older and have 20 years of health issues of some kind. I'm not asking for faceroll easy, but F' -- Stop trying make this a Dark Souls game. If you wanna do that, make a new server with full rebuilt Dark Souls hard mode or some shit, lol. Some upgrades, QoL, little extra spice to stuff is fine. But some shit gotten a bit drastic. I feel that ends up chasing away folks (I could be wrong).

If I am on and have space, yer welcome to join my teams. Current toon I'm clearing 50 contacts on is Darkmire (Excelsior) and after that will be Night Pouncer or Assault Lad.

I guess I can get it. Being a Team Lead can be scary! You gotta deal with all other shenanigans and asshattery. While trying keep the team flowing and being aware of WTF is going on around you. (Proper lead should be at least.) That's a lot work, when all you wanna do is hop in and zapp, smash, blap, your way to victory. Reason I tell folks 96% of the server want teams. Only 4% are actually taking time & effort to lead/form the teams. (Sure some made up stat of mine, but I ain't far off). Thing is that 4% pool never grows, may shrink some but never really gets past that 4%. Leads will stop leading cuz they are tired dealing with the B.S. of it or stop playing or go to a more private role with specific people and stops dealing with the general populace aka the Private Sector, lol. The thing is, us as a community honestly & truly take the time to teach the general masses on, hey stop being a twat and pissing off all the Team Leads to point they stop wanting to lead. Maybe we would get more folks stepping up to lead a team and most the community(Well least on X) would stop begging for Farms(well maybe, we do have a lot of lazy players). Just an Idea.

I had several in game buds tell me that and chaos that happens. I was like wait what? This is a real thing? ROFL, I swear we got some "special" folks here. I'm so use to always team leading what ever I'm doing. So I never see this, I very rarely join other groups, cept maybe random TF or the very very very ultra rare iTrial.

-shrug- As someone who has far to much in game currency. I honestly don't care about prices anymore. I get they can be outlandish at some point, especially with specific sets. But either do Task/Strike forces, trials, or completing arcs for merits. You can then buy some more outlandish stuff at 100 merits per piece or make a farming toon and make like 50 mill+ an hour --Results may very--- But coming here and pissing all over place, with no real reason other then to piss all over place doesn't exactly show well for you.

Empathy power set in the modern City of Heroes
JJDrakken replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
It's not as common as you think. Again a lot folks don't come to forums or just parooze. Even many more do not have Mid's. What is common knowledge here is not common knowledge as a whole for our community. As I've stated: Folks that live on these boards are a small percentage of the small percentage that look at these boards. Most our community do not come here on average or at all. So if someone pokes their nose in here, see's that goes oh ok cool. Our forums is mostly same faces (which isn't a lot of faces) all the time in most the various places. It's same Echo Chamber pointing fingers at each over the same shit, but trying spin it a different way or just flat out misinformation being presented with such confident bravado. lol Heck one person replied saying thank you, cuz they were not sure about something in that set to begin with. Literally right above your post, thus defeating that comment in the first place. -
I wouldn't mind, though you would have to come to Excelsior 😛

Empathy power set in the modern City of Heroes
JJDrakken replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
Sonic Resonance is just fine as is. It's not "FLASHY" But is very solid. -- Sonic Cage being overall worthless power for the set. (Sure could be handy in PvP(bleh) or Solo). But overall Phase Powers in general are some most hated powers. They are fastest way to piss a team off for sure.(side rant). Lets look at Sonic R. Unslotted & at Defender Values. 1. Sonic Siphon -- Single Target -Res. 30% Well that means that Boss or AV or GM is taking more damage from your team and yourself. -- Win 2. Sonic Barrier & Sonic Haven -- Resistance Buff: 20% That means your Allies are taking less damage. So even if someone a D build, does get hit, we'll they will take less. Great example back on live, We ran a 7 Spider & 1 Sonic/Sonic Corr ITF & finished in 18 mins. We didn't skip shit, just powered through fast. If they got hit, they took less. -- Win 3. Sonic Cage -- Garbage(Phase powers suck). But as stated maybe useful for PvP or Solo -- Fail 4. Disruption Field -- Toggle on an Ally. PBAOE Effect of -30% Resistance that will stack with your Sonic Siphon. -- Win 5. Sonic Dispersion -- +Res(Cept Psionic) -- Status Protection: to Immob, Stun, Holds(8.65 Mag value) -- PBAOE Toggle off you(thus you get effects). -- Super Win 6. Sonic Repulsion -- Toggle Ally -- PBAOE KB -- FAIL -- Till Sudden Acceleration Proc -- Now: -shrugs- Honestly the noise it makes still makes it a fail to me. 7. Clarity -- Single Target Protection to all Status Effects for a limited time and +Perception. -- It's a Win, but situational win. 8. Liquefy -- Location AoE -- Minor Damage -- Foe Hold(Mag 2) -- KD -- Negative To Hit, & -Def -- SUPER WIN. Not to mention the recipe set combos you can use in it. You can easily soft cap your S/L/E Defenses with Scorpion Shield and have have self resist and status protection for self on top of all that. Overall folks sleep on Sonic cuz it's not flashy or omfg doesn't heal -- (Goes back to Empathy). It's a Debuff--Buff set. -
Quicksand can be taken only be 1 slotted Tempered Readiness Endurance/Recharge/Slow. It's a -Def, Slow, -Jump, -Fly Patch. Why wouldn't you take it. Literally can be used a power that you don't need slots in and has a lot of function. All my Earth Controls have it. It's not a useless power.

I'm well aware of it's stats. I looked at on AH and bought couple sets via merits. Overall it's not OMFG amazing, but for putting in AoE Ranged power it can help shore up some things. Especially Sentinels and Blasters If they are using Resist based sets and what not. Bombardment has that at 2.25 & 5% recharge bonus. So stat wise, it's better in those two areas. To be brutally honest, on average I could care less about "Procs" They are nice when it happens, but I don't build a build hoping for it. Most builds that have recipe Procs are there via requests, I like recipe set as a whole, or I find 6th piece to be pointless for that build and put a proc of some kind in there for shits & giggles.

Rule of 3 Rule of 5 Rule of Unique The 3 R's Rule of 3: Will use Stamina as example. Past 3 Endurance enhancements the values start to drop drastically for what you'll be getting out of it. Rule of 5: Is for Recipe Set Bonuses: So say you got 6 Recipe sets that give +3% S/L Resists. Well that 6th set bonus will not apply. Even if it's 6 different recipe sets, if they have a +3% bonus to S/L Resist. That 6th won't work. Rule of Unique: You can only have 1 of that thing. Example: Steadfast Res/+3% Defense. Which is also a Global piece. Subcontract: Global: Meaning that it can be in any power and it will still grant that bonus. Even if it's not active power or toggle. The 3 R's: +Recovery, +Recharge, -Regeneration. First two are obvious with out Blue bar or some form of positive recharge. You'll be standing around twiddling your thumbs. While -Regen is more for 50 game. Without that, you'll be having hard time dropping AVs/Heros/GMs, etc.. (While some can pull it off without it, it's going be more specific ones)

So self rez or rez others?

The Stigma is that a lot our player base(Ok maybe 25% I'm speculating) would rather sit in a Farm and let someone else play the game for them. They did no work for the levels, they most likely don't understand how to use their powers in a various situation. But they are also loudest do the constant begging/spamming in LFG to sit in farms. Basically lvl 50 n00bs that need to learn, but most don't. They repeat the process or go on TF/SF and sorta just shuffle along with masses. Letting others who know what their doing carry them basically at 50. I personally have PL'd my own toons before with my other accounts. But I also understand how things work and how to use them in whatever situation. The reason that Stigma started is for the reason I said above. You got bunch of 50 n00bs not really knowing what they are doing. I also at end of day don't care what you do. What I do care if you are constantly spamming LFG to sit on a farm. 98% Farmers won't PL you. They work solo or only accept Hitters or friends on their farms. That folks also get tired of seeing folks in LFG(Excelsior/Everlasting here) begging to sit in farm. I myself have 0 issue PLing folks, they just have to work with it, with rest of the team on my mission teams. Even if you got 1 power, spam it and be proactive. ONLY time you see me sitting on a farm is if I'm sick and can't sleep or if I catch a friend on her Friday runs. That's mostly to sit and BS with her via Twitch. Behind all things we dislike there a reason/kernels of truths as to why. Over time it just grows into other reasons, like OMFG play the game like me or you suck, etc... So that's why most folks act the way they do about the whole Farming/PLing.

Empathy power set in the modern City of Heroes
JJDrakken replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
Elec Heal is spread out between you & 2 others so that's like 69 hp unslotted for 3 people(you counted). While 133 is PBAOE hits everyone in the PBAOE radius for that ... Nor does it not have chance to miss. 😛 But I get it your going off feelings and not logic. 😛 Comes down to what works for you I guess. -
Empathy power set in the modern City of Heroes
JJDrakken replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
Lets compare numbers here bud: I already covered Kinetics & Dark's heals. They are strongest, but they have ability to miss. You could hit streak of missing 2-4 heals in a row with those(I've had that happen before). All these are Unslotted & going off Defender Values. Empathy: PABOE Healing Aura: 133.86 -- Direct Heal Other: 262.37 -- Direct Absorb Pain: (Varies, but strongest of the 3, but requires you to use HP for it). Pain Domination: Same values as Empathy Marine Affinity: Cone Healing: 133.86 Nature Affinity: Cone Healing: 100.4 & self: 20.06, but it's not direct but a HoT. Electrical Affinity: Rejuvenation Circruit: Chain Heal: 207.49 spreading out the heal between allies. Meaning that 207 is divided between you & two other allies. Poison: Direct Heal: 231.56 Radiation Emission: PABOE Radiant Aura: 133.86 Storm Summoning: 02 Boost: Mid's doesn't have it listed, but it's like 60 I think at best as a Direct Heal Thermal Radiation: PBAOE Warmth: 133.86. Direct Cauterize: 262.37 Time Manipulation: PABOE Temporal Mending: +Regen and H.o.T. Again Mid's didn't list it. But memory serves it's about 100-130 HoT. So taking out the Accurate Heals. Empathy and Pain are winning. They come with Buffs & Debuffs. -
Empathy power set in the modern City of Heroes
JJDrakken replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
What heals are you comparing it to? It's one better heals out there that doesn't require you to hit a mob. While Dark/Kinetics are two strongest heals in the game. It requires you to hit the mob and thus you can miss. Dark heals is PBAOE off you Kin Heal is PBAOE off mob Both are situational, either you and everyone crowds a mob or they crowd you which may require you to crowd a mob cuz you got more melee's one the team. -
I didn't Delete anything. I still don't agree with you and your need to come here to start issues. Which you are aware of what your doing. But I'm guessing you got a bud/alternate account that removed it. Second note: I am aware there is a new Recipe set: Cupid's Crush. That is a Universal Damage set out now. Before asking for builds with it, needs to be updated in Mid's Reborn. Also since it's Universal it can go in any power.

Empathy power set in the modern City of Heroes
JJDrakken replied to Techwright's topic in General Discussion
TLDR: Empathy and Pain are still very viable. From 1-50. Folks who say that is isn't, probably have set teams with decked out friends or other 50s who recipe up and have incarnates. Thing is that's still the minority of our server player base, NO ONE EVER THINKS OF THAT. Everyone on forums are folks who probably deck themselves out. A lot players don't come here or barely come here, they just log into a "FREE" game and play. Most have busy real lives that don't give them the time to do what again the minority does. When your in a PuG, of various levels, builds, & experiences. Those powers are very valid and very useful at all levels. Never assume everyone decked out like you are. A lot are not even remotely close to that. I've noticed folks tend to forget that stuff, they are use to their echo chambers here on the forums of the same faces saying the same shit over & over. When it's smaller percentage of a small percentage of our player base that lives here on the forums compared to actual player base in total. So we all say same shit, smell same farts, and hear same stuff hashed out in some different way that is basically same. -
Yeah sure, that's it. Anyways if you have any questions or queries, feel free to ask here.

Had a tell before servers went down about a Poison/Stone build. Sorry I didn't catch your name as I was also busy looking at some other things. But if you come here by happen chance here you go. Defender (Poison - Seismic Blast).mbd
