Tanker Tuesdays

A good run tonight on Everlasting, we had a few new faces come to join us and had 3 teams running for the night. Many thanks to Disarray aka @VooDooMan for leading the ITF team tonight and to Guy With The Thing aka @Palmtree  for taking the reigns on the mission team,

The Electric Melee challenge team managed to get a +2 Yin TF done with @PLVRIZR leading and then ran a Citadel TF with @Felix 9 getting the star after a few of us crashed out. 

All in all, a good night of tanking was had.

 

This Saturday we return to Reunion. Meet up in Kings Row at 9:30 am PT / 12:30 pm ET. Will probably run a Justin Augustine or Imperious TF depending on the turnout.

Next Tuesday, July 22nd, we will be on Indomitable at the usual time. A Clamor for the People & The Saga of Lanaru will be the WST.

 

And July 29 will be the 5th Tuesday of the Month. For that special event we will be running a IMSR on Everlasting. Bring a level 35+ tank with the Member of Vanguard badge for maximum exp and v-merit gains.

Agreed, a very good night of tanking.  Most of the team was barely tall enough for Yin, and certainly light on IOs and sets, so we slogged out the +2/8 in about 50 minutes.  A far cry from the 30-35 it used to take, with a full team of incarnated (albeit exemplared) tanks, prior to the recent patch(es).  Lots and lots of dings, however, getting everyone to at least 25 for Cit.  Sorry to have missed that, but life happens...

Thanks for having me albeit briefly. I missed the start so ended up on the mission team. Unfortunately it was radio missions, which lose my attention almost instantly as there's no story progression to them so I was only around for a couple missions. Hopefully everyone had fun.

A fun time was had on Reunion today. With 7 Tankers in attendance, we first cleared out 3 Paladins from Kings Row and then ran a +3x8 ITF in a little over an hour (with 2 of our tankers still in their 30s), and to close out the run a few of us ran through Heather Townsend's arc in DA. Lots of levels gained and I think at least one purple recipe dropped, which is nice.

 

Next Tanker Tuesday is July 22nd on Indomitable. The Stone Armor challenge will be running and I think are up to Numina's TF. As well, the WST will be Yin and Faathim. Meet in Kings Row on the wall by the IP Gate. 6:00 pm PT / 9:00 pm ET.

 

July 29 will be the 5th Tuesday of the month.  We will be running a IMSR on Everlasting for that event. Bring a level 35+ tank with the Member of Vanguard badge for maximum exp and vanguard merits.

My stone armor challenge tank's last badge was Numina's, so we're past that.  I do have a 50 that needs Numina and could bring him, if there is enough interest in Numina, or we could run a Yin, with our stone armor's...

We had a fun time on Indomitable tonight with three teams running. Many thanks to @wittylibrarian for starting off the mission team tonight for those not doing the Stone Armor Challenge. For the stoners, we had two teams going with @Warboss leading a speedy Yin TF for most of them and  @PLVRIZR leading a Numina to get the TFC accolade for the last few tanks on the challenge that needed it. With that done for most, next month we can do the big push to get these tanks to 50 and/or fill in any gaps in the TFC for those that need them. (I believe @X'terra volunteered to lead a Positron 1 & 2 next month)

 

Next Tanker Tuesday is July 29th,. Since that is the 5th Tuesday in July, we will be running an all-tank Instanced MSR on Everlasting. Bring a 35+ tanker with the Member of Vanguard Badge to ensure maximum exp and v-merits are gained (lowbie tanks will not help out much and maximum damage will be needed). Meet up in Kings Row at 6:00 pm PT / 9:00 pm ET by the IP Gate and we will launch from there.

 

Warboss has also suggested that the next TT challenge set start in September on Excelsior. This will be with the Energy Aura armor set as the required Primary but the Secondary will be your choice. Bring a new Tanker, no higher than level 4, to the wall in Kings Row on September 2nd to join that challenge run.

What a good time (albeit a bit sloggy at times) with a small (five) but mighty team.  Started at +2, but eventually dropped to a +1/6 for Jurassik and still finished in 1:11.  Not bad considering the hunts took a bit longer than usual, due to everyone soloing the zones.

 

Next month, I'll bring Allegra, Benadryl, Claritin, Zyrtec and Zyzol for X's "star allergies", as well.

Good run on Yin with our Stone challenge Tankers. End drain was a bit painful, so I'll have to look into how to resolve that... After the TF it was missions time and Ohm took the lead for a bit (thanks Ohm!). Then we finished the night running a couple radios at my level (finished at 41). So between the TF and the missions I think was able to put 5 levels on my Stone/Axer.  All I have to do is settle on a build for him...

 

Looking forward to the next challenge... what to pair with EA... hmm... Rad Melee? Dark? Energy?... decisions, discissions, decisions ....

I'm thinking something with plenty of knockdowns to leverage FF for things like Overload, Energize, and Energy Drain.

Which would point you to Stone Melee.  I just Incarnated my Dark/Stone, from the stone melee tanker challenge and he's a hoot.  Other than no DDR (when Ageless wears off), he's also pretty indestructible.  FFs in Fault and Tremor keep Dark Regen and Soul Transfer going.  Highly recommended.

I can second /stone melee as a good choice. I have a SD/SM, Dark/SM (from the challenge from what 6 months ago or so), and recently leveled a Regen/SM. All are great. Stone melee really is underrated. I'm still trying to decide on my pairing with Energy Aura, but debating in my head between Axe, SS (if I can make a build that compensates for the -def on rage crash, Street Justice, or maybe as a long shot Kinetic Melee (but knowing me I'd probably have to be drunk to role it knowing it's issues).

I'm actually leaning toward Kinetic Melee.

I have an /ice melee and a /spines built for this now. Not sure which one I'll actually use for the challenge run since both could do well in different ways. 

Guess I'll find out in September.
