Beam/Dark OR Beam/FF?

Fan Mail

Recommended Posts

So, I've been running my Beam/Dark Corruptor and came to a realization that maybe I need to stop and switch to a Beam/FF Corruptor instead.  I've got him to level 17 or 18 so now would be the time to do it if I was going to.

Any thoughts one way or the other on this?  Specifically with the synergy of the sets?  My original idea was that Tar Patch/Fear and the AoE/Cones from Beam would work out pretty good but then, thematically, Force Field is more closely aligned with Beam.

Depends on how Tanky you wanna be.

One of my first HC characters was a Beam/Dark and the bolded is indeed what I found to be true.  Lead off with Fearsome Stare, drop tar patch, then overcharge, cutting beam, etc etc.  Toss a Darkest Night if you're in a hairy situation, but I find in practice it's just an AV thing.

Just fyi, here's the current build.  Note - because this was created so early on Homecoming, it's a "budget" build.  I have it on my to-do list to upgrade and look for good proc opportunities.

Force field isn’t going to do anything for your damage; I’d say end game dark is a more useful set, though AVs running out of your debuffs can be frustrating. That’s the one thing I like in radiation over any other set, the debuffs go with them so just a matter of chipping away. If you’re looking at proc damage though, isn’t defender the better choice? Just asking as my support experience is less than other classes.
