Hyperstrike
17 hours ago, Snarky said: Taunt is a great power. Glad you could squeeze it on. It is one of the most effective mob control powers in the game. Pre-inherent Fitness, back when you needed two powers to get a true travel power there were a lot of Brutes that struggled to squeeze taunt onto a build. We (and I was in the majority) decided to instead not take taunt. We developed a strategy of cannonballing into the new spawn and letting our taunt auras do the work while attacking. Once you have gotten in the habit of building and playing this way it is natural to come to the realization that taunt, while powerful, is a luxury not a necessity. If we were talking about an actual TANK, yes, we'd draw and quarter you as a heretic. With dental implements... But on a Scrapper/Brute? Taunt's a TOTALLY optional thing. I don't usually max it out and just drop the Zinger Psi proc in there. Mainly because it just jiggles my giggles to imagine someone SO insulting and annoying that poor, sensitive widdle villains start BLEEDING AT THE EYES AND EARS! Or, if you cherry-tap them with it? SCANNERS! Spoiler 3 If you want to be godlike, pick anything. If you want to be GOD, pick a TANK!

PLVRIZR
So I tried the opposite of Snarky, as far as spend goes. Dusted off an idled SS/Inv brute on Excelsior. I respec'd (at 47 so obviously no incarnate powers) and finally went to IOs and a few sets (played almost all of Live with SOs). You'll notice that I don't even have the the ATOs and still have a bunch of standard IOs. With judicious use of yellow sets (Multi Strike, Serendipity, Doctored Wounds, Titanium Coating, Crushing Impact and Focused Smite), it still has some survivable numbers. Many of those can even be bought with merits, or for less than 500K in the auction house. Total, I have only spent about 100 Mil (did not use merits for anything other than recipes for building enh and the converter roulette - AH sell game for infl). I can easily S/L farm at +2/8 and even hold up extremely well, on lvl 50 PI groups. A bit of judicious tweaking could PROBABLY eake out a bit more in the way of Defense and Resist. But as a base build, it's fairly badass. If you're worried about the slightly low E/N Defense, pair it up with Diamagnetic in Interface to floor out the chance ToHit. I'm enjoying this build very much (currently at L15) but I like to plan ahead. What is the best selection for each Incarnate slot?
Hyperstrike
The answer is "depends". For my money. Agility in Alpha Ion Core for Judgement. Largest AoE attack in the game. (enemies HATE that kinda action) Diamagnetic to floor ToHit chances If soloing, Rebirth Radial for the increased Regen or Ageless for the +Rech. If teaming, Barrier Radial, overcomes Defense debuffs and can Rez allies. Longbow Lore for Debuffage If you're just going for *WHAM!* "That tickled" levels of toughness, Melee Core. If you're looking for more damage, Assault. I'm honestly not sure which'd be a better option. Core or Radial. Haven't done the math of +Dmg vs Doublehit. 1 If you want to be godlike, pick anything. Snarky
I am glad Hyperstrike answered first. Seriously, Hyperstrike knows the facts. On mine I run Alpha: Agility Core Paragon Judgement: Mighty Radial Final Judgement (Theme) Interface: Reactive Core Flawless (Degen works great against giant health sacks, but remember any league can only stack 5 Interface on a target) Lore: Polar Lights, just to be as unobtrusive as possible. For real damage Banished Pantheon Destiny: Barrier Core Epiphany I solo. A lot. Hybrid. Melee Radial Embodiment on the theory for 90% game Defense is more valuable than resists. again, I choose these by "feel" Although honestlyt the character runs great. Although with the new Dr Aeon and 801 (neither of which do I run at serious max settings) I may have to look at tightening all the slack up lol. Looks back to Hyperstrike... what do I do again?
