kelika2 Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 Can the devs apply this mechanic to pets? The current pets I can think of who suffer from the old 'turn off on defeat' crap: Ninjas: Oni > Rain of Fire Ninjas: Jounen > Caltrops Illusion: Phantasm > the clones/duplicates Right Side Rularuu Lore: > i cant remember, but its a shadow based rain of fire that debuffs. i switched lore because this would go away upon target enemy death There are probably others, but I hope the point got across 1
Uun Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 The mechanic you're referring to only applies to toggle debuffs, not click debuffs. All the powers you're referring to are clicks (and also do damage). I could see having it apply to Darkest Night when cast by Dark Servant, but I'm not aware of any toggle debuffs used by Controller/Dominator, MM or Lore pets. Uuniverse
Vanden Posted February 9, 2020 Posted February 9, 2020 Yeah, it's a different mechanic at play there. The powers you all listed are all pseudo-pets, and when they're used by NPCs their life gets tied to the target of the attack, so when the target dies, the pseudo-pet dies. I think it should be fixable, since I believe there are pets in the game that don't die when the caster or target dies, so the mechanic should already be coded. Rain of Fire and Caltrops are location-based, not target-based. Life of the pseudo-pet has nothing to do with life of a target. Uuniverse
