Need Assault Riffle/Energy Blaster Build Advice

Hello all, I've been playing this build for awhile now and think it's pretty good.  I only do PVE on this build, since this doesn't seem to be good pvp wise.  Looking for any suggestions on how to improve this build any more.

Total Focus -> Bone Smasher
Full Auto - Could use procs but its fine
-1 slot in Hasten  +1 slot in Bone Smasher for proc
Beanbag -> Power Boost (Melt Armor + Energize + Cap Energy DEF 🤣) or Vengeance
Sniper Rifle | -Fast Snipe +Apocalypse proc (you're already at 22% tohit with Kismet)
Ageless -> Barrier

I like Char instead of Melt Armor myself, but I also use Intuition Radial instead of Musculature. Depends on if you fear bosses or not.

I dunno hero planners and stuff like this or all those abbreviations but

Burst, Slug and Sniper Rifle - 5/6 Decimation (no proc) - add an additional 6th slot for procs or a recharge if extra

Buckshot - posi blast 5/6 (no proc) and 1 KB to KD

M30 - blaster ATO1 set 5/6 (no proc) and 1 KB to KD

Flamethrower - blaster ATO2 5/6 (no proc) and 1 range (optional but holy crap it makes a big difference)

Full Auto - posi blast 5/6 (no proc) 1 rech

 

Both M30 and Flamethrower have long recharge times, the ATO sets however have lots of recharge.

Knockback to Knockdown are essential to Buckshot and M30

Most Cones have short ranges, Flamethrower is no exception

 

 

energize - 5/6 doctored wounds, skip rech/end

I dunno why you have so many slots in buildup but: 1 rech, 2 adjusted targeting.  rech and rech/whatever

Total Focus got a buff, but finding time to use it is rough

 

Drop leadership, focus on fighting for tough and weave

 

if you intend to keep Fire Mastery:

Bonfire only needs one Sudden Acceleration: KB to KD.  i personally rarely use it and dont need it at maximum recharge

Rise of the Phoenix turns into a massive burn patch if you use an Overwhelming Force: KB to KD in it.  additional dmg or rech is fine if there is room or not

Both tough and fire shield should have 5/6 Reactive Armor, skipping rech/end.  and 1 3% def

Weave should get slotted 5/6 Red Fortune (skip raw def) and 1 lotg 7.5%.  the def in lotg makes up for skipping red fortunes def

 

Since /Energy is light on powers/slots, fill the rest in with Concealment for more LOTG mules or even stuff like 5/6 Obliteration (skip acc/dmg/rech/end) in rise of the phoenix

EDIT:  updated build for different pool and switched around some slots to optimize.

 

I've been looking for a build for a while now and finally sat down to make my own.  Goal was softcap ranged defense as I always hover.  Damage was another goal, along with recharge.  Didn't slot any purples as I'm not ready to invest that much more influence.  Would be interested to see others opinions here... IMO it works well as a team player and certainly has no problem soloing at +2x8, everything is easier on outdoor maps.

I would of moved the set from flamethrower to full auto, then move the set from buckshot to flame thrower, because they get the recharge times down better, then end slot boost range as its perma anyway. Otherwise it's a matter of play it and see.

Some players make their characters all about them, if it doesn't help them, they don't want it, their build advice to you will ofcourse be about making your character the best thing that helps them too if they ever team with you, because it's always about them.

Good call, on swapping sets around.

 

I also swapped electric shackles for power boost, since the single target hold is rather useless without slotting.

 

Now to just figure out a bind so that I can have Energize and Hasten on autofire...

Its a range cap hover blaster build. But with super speed and stealth IO you could hover around missions in stealth as well. 

I removed hasten because you didn't need it freeing up one power with one slot.

I would auto cast energize since it is perma. with energize on Perma your Regeneration and Endurance Recovery at 500%..  Which means you have nothing to worry about and endurance use is way, way down. 

Power boost is a somewhat limiting power here, but it is still useful.

 

Several options for your last power. 

  • Hasten if you really want full auto up every 14 seconds instead of 16. 
  • Rise of the Phoenix saves you running back to missions every 95 seconds.
  • Beanbag combined with Power boost should give a really nice stun. Would definitely go with beanbag over energy stun as it is range. 
  • Assault if you really want to push your overall DPS higher
  • If you are going to go Vengeance for the LOTG+recharge you might as well go hasten since it is perma. 

Personally I would probably go with Assault.

Redid the build as it was off.

 

This build has no hasten and is setup with Perma Energize. Which means the recharge on Full Auto is a bit higher by 5 seconds.

 

You need Stamina 4 slotted and you would need to put in 10 slot enhancers in stamina. 5 in the Performance shifter proc and 5 in the Efficacy Adapter endurance IO.  This will bring your endurance to 2.94 which is almost 2 points above your endurance use.  This is the common rule of thumb of having 2 points between recovery and use. 

Otherwise you will be burning a lot of endurance even with Cardiac or Agility slotted. Basically you will need to be popping Blue Inspirations. Yes Ageless will help you out but personally I try not be pinned down like this if I don't have to.

 

Power Boost though limited will be interesting with all your knockback powers, Slug, Buckshot and M30 Grenade which all have Knockdown IOs in them. 

 

With Build up and Assault Full Auto is doing 595 points of damage. Again nothing to complain about.  

With Endurance issues covered you could go Musculature and increase your DPS  for Full Auto to 641 points of damage. 

 

The opening would be Boost Range, Build up and Full Auto. The good thing is the increase cone range will help get more groups hit. 

 

Boost Range will bring your Snipe attack out so far that you couldn't target a mob at that distance unless you were targeting through another player midway towards the target. The Range is just that far. 

I could see some double teaming in PVP as one person is the spotter and you are sniping through them.  Again Snipe is almost doing 1k in damage with this combo.  So the other player is not giving up his position and no one can see you at that range.
