What clockwork unique are you referring to?

The free one from p2w vendor. I slotted it feeling gutsy and saw it increases damage, but it says -500.0% in description not 500% so I thought it was weird.

(As in negative 500%)

Oh, I see, this:

That's definitely an issue in the text, as it does 0.1666 scale damage boost, which is equivalent to a dual-origin damage enhancement. If you drag and hover it over a power's slot, you can see how much it'll actually enhance damage by (~16.7%).

I'm totally new to the game haha. I feel like im doing something wrong. I arrived at talos island and only do 17 damage... (with minions)

A while ago someone helped me level up and he was doing like 22k aoes inside a custom farm mission.

I caution against doing farming to level up if you're learning the game. The game has a pretty good learning curve if you take it slow, as well as good content in the early levels that you might not want to miss.

Damage scales with levels, though it does sound like you could do with some enhancements. Best thing to do next would be the invention tutorial at the university in Steel Canyon and then focus on kitting yourself out for Invention Origin (IO) enhancements. If you're lvl 22 then you can slot lvl 25 IOs, which are good enough to keep slotted all the way up to 50.

Enhancements can get a bit wild, but don't get overwhelmed. Get comfortable with how standard IOs work; it's enough to carry you through the game.

22k damage sounds improbable to me. A high damage output at level 50 is more like 500 for a strong, single-target attack. (Ballpark figure, I don't pay much attention. I'm sure someone else has a more accurate average.)

22,000 / 10 $Targets = 2200 damage per $Target

2200 / 4 = 550 base damage when hitting the 400% damage cap

22,000 / 16 $Targets = 1375 damage per $Target

1375 / 5 = 275 base damage when hitting the 500% damage cap

Sounds exaggerated to me too.

Oh, it probably is, but the purple patch means that it only has to do 1/6th that much against level 1 mobs (or level 2 with the alpha level shift!). Once you divide by 6, that 275 at the damage cap turns into 45.83, and a scale 1 attack from a Blaster does 62.561 damage at level 50. If they're saying it happened as a single hit, then you have to throw in resistance debuffs: -300% floor, so level 1-2 mobs take 24x damage, so it has to do 916.667 damage at even con, 183.33 base damage at the 500% damage cap, which is a scale 2.93 attack for a Blaster or scale 4.40 attack for a Corruptor (41.707 damage at 50 for scale 1). Crashless Blaster nukes do scale 4 damage, and don't slow Snipes do scale 4.56 damage now? So it's possible but it's a clear best-case scenario.
