I've read various things good and bad about Warshades.  I read that they work better as human and not using the other form. I'm trying to decide. Opinions?

(Before you ask,I did post this message in the Warshade/Peacebringer section, and got no answer)

I have a human-only warshade. He's great and ranks one of my most powerful characters, but he relies pretty heavily on his click powers: sunless mire, stygian circle and eclipse. The nature of those powers requires him to be surrounded by mobs, so going toe-to-toe with an AV, he struggles.

The forms give you the adaptability to deal with that, but the enhancment slots get really tight.

As someone that has played EATs since inception, Warshades work significantly better in my opinion using multiple forms than they do human only.

It's not to say they can't be human only, they can't be, I've tried it before, they are just better triform.

Stealth into a mob, pop Eclipse, sunless mire, dwarf mire, Nova, fly slightly up while attacking down to maximize your cone, and positioning of the AoE that has slight knockback, effectively turning it to knockdown.

Then drop to human form styigan circle heal yourself and extract a little nictus buddy.

Repeat.

Edit:

To give you a little perspective playing human form only, you'll live and die on mob density. You will stealth/superspeed into mobs using ink aspect/orbiting death, with fluff balls in tail, popping sunless mire/quasar and then unchain essence. While using stygian circle to refill health/endurance.

You'll do more damage triform. Either way you go you need to build in mez protection as Kheldians get screwed in mez protection (although dwarf form is nice as a breakfree and buildup via dwarf mire).

Good luck.

Warshades are most potent as tri-formers.

For a good place to learn the spirit of the Warshade, read the guide "MF'n Warshade."

It may be a bit old but it is the heart and soul of a steamrolling Warshade.

For me kb to kd turned human only shade into one of my favorite characters. I absolutely hated khelds on live. Here's my build - it depends on defensive amplifier pretty heavily to stop mez as i went ageless instead of clarion. melee hybrid provides break free for when mez gets past that and my defenses.

Warshade is my bread and butter. Only brute has held me any amount of time otherwise. I primarily focus as a tank/ offtank and a nuker. Love it. I probably spend 50% of my time in dwarf form, 25% human and 25% nova. Th key to a warshade as mentioned in the guide by Plasma, is the binds. Being able to shift quickly to the form you need NOW is critical. The essence of a PB or WS is flexibility. We may not be the best in any one situation, but we can make up for it by changing as the situation requires.

Human form only is still quite viable but that is not my specialty.
