Talons of Vengeance earth powers...

How COOL are their earth effects? The whole screen shakes, your entire vision is obscured by rock, stone and falling dust. The sound is so loud you can't hear anything else going on but the crumbles of stone. You can't see anything or hear anything but EARTH; your brave pets venture into the dust and are never seen again. Even better when it is a spawn with 2-3 of these earth casters.

So this begs the question, when are these amazing earth effects being ported to Earth Control so I can use them in all my teams?! 😃 My current Earth effects are so minimalistic in comparison!

No, they are not cool.  They are annoying as hell.  They will be ported hopefully never.

I am still hoping for them to be freaking removed from ToV and the powers changed out for something else because goddamn Ashfall is the worst.

I just found out that it's possible to turn off the screen shake effect. Before that, OMG, I cried when I fought those NPC, or had Pendragon on my team. Because facing difficulty in a game because of bloody special graphic effects that are intended to be fun, is like poking yourself in the eye with a stick... for fun.

I actually could see a VERY LIMITED version of them being interesting. But right now they really are so annoying.

Heh, and I remember when I said that my Earth/Storm melted graphic cards. How naive was I at that time, hehe.

To be honest my original post is completely facetious, and I was hoping it was evidently dripping in sarcasm enough for people to see that! 😆

I hate the ToV earth effects. The first time I met them I was almost defeated because my screen was shaking and completely obscured by earth effects. It was like a blind power targeted on the player! It’s really over the top, especially for lieutenants.

lol, I completely missed that. Yeah, rereading it, it does make a lot more sense when it's read facetiously.

A bit of those effects might be cool. As they are, you said it exactly... a Blind spell used upon the player. Heck, just shut off my monitor for me, why don't you do that?

New enemy faction: the MetaMobs

Minions shake your screen, introduce screen glitches, and make random sounds come out of the speaker. Also, have an annoying blast that they spam which does about 50 damage, but puts an illusion on your HP bar to make it seem like you're down to 10% Health.

Lieutenants do the same illusion to your Endurance bar and your toggles, making you think they're shut off when they're still running. And they shut off your monitor for two seconds if they hit... with a PBAoE attack with a 30' radius.

Bosses throw out three attacks per second, only one of which is real. And they have a single target attack which breaks your internet connection. 😛

The final mission of the story arc against them HAS to include a climb up the old ITF Hill of Infinite Lag.

The thread makes me recall being on a team with 6 Masterminds in the late 30's.  Something like 36 pets plus us.  All I can say is thank the cosmos I was on a Corruptor and for tab targetting.  I pitied the poor brute that got invited as the 8th (while the MM's chuckled in team chat about it prior to the invite 😯).

I mean, there is argument to want similar powers, because, yes, admittedly, many enemies added in issue 18 and onwards have some really cool looking powers that are beyond player reach for one reason or another. I mean otherwise I picked up on the sarcasm, Ashfall and ToV lightning storm is just awful for me to deal with because my favorite characters tend to be defense based and those attacks take up a huge area and deal damage while ignoring defenses, and the visual obstruction makes it difficult to get out of.

Also, I want IDF Heavy Trooper Pack powers, dammit. I too wish to unleash @#$%loads of missiles on my enemies,

The Heavy Trooper Packs are pretty awesome I will admit. I've always liked the extra glow on Cabal lightning blasts. Would be cool to be able to have those on our electric blast characters! Definitely would make a Storm/Electric Defender with that if we could!

Well you can never tell, considering how much some players love overly flashy, obscuring, and lag-causing powerset animations.  I'm sure there's even someone out there who wishes the demon MM pets would roar even more.
